[videoblogging] How to configure a showplayer that allows for a variable first episode?
My show duckpond tv is a showcase of the musicians that play my concert venue. The player that I use on Blip Tv is one that has the showmorebutton turned off to allow for a seamless stream of my program. My problem is that I have been trying without success to figure out a way that I can change the initial episode freely in order to target specific audiences. In other words, when I am embedding a player with an audience that is fans with, say, Grayson Capps, I would like the initial episode to be Grayson Capps followed seamlessly by the rest of our episodes. I haven't figured out a way to do this without altering all the previously embedded players out there. In other words, when I embed a player with Grayson Capps leading the stream, I don't then want to have every player out there also leading with Grayson. Any help with this would be great. Thanks for all you've done. The support at Blip is truly outstanding. Nick Friedman www.DUCKPONDtv.blip.tv www.myspace.com/duckpondatdusk

[videoblogging] Desperately trying to change Blip player to a continuous stream
Hey everyone, I've been desperately trying to change my Blip player to one that has a continuous stream. I am trying to eliminate the showmorebutton function that comes on after the first episode. Though the Blip help staff has been outstanding in their response to my calls for help, I still have not been able to obtain a player with this desired effect. I'll go through the steps I have attempted and maybe a mistake can be detected: step 1. From the Dashboard, click manage player button 2. At top right, select working on 'new player' 3. top line: select name of player(i.e.nick's streaming player) 4. select multi-episode player(i.e. chronological player) 4a. Hit the save button 5. select the Advanced tab. 6. Where the bottom two boxes are, type showmorebutton in the left box and false in the right box. Hit the save button. 7. Now If I understand correctly, this new player should be available to me on the show page when I hit the embed command on the right(show player) and then the custom player style button above. At that point the player that I have gone to the trouble to create and save is never shown. I must be missing a step somewhere along the line. If someone can help me with this I will quickly fire off a mug from my pottery showroom tomorrow morning (www.duckpondpotter.etsy.com)as they will bring my hours of frustration to an end. [videoblogging] Blip Not Recording Hits From Feeds
I just recently noticed that Blip stopped recording hits I get from embedded videos on Myspace. I posted this question to the staff at Blip and am still waiting for a response. I'm wondering if anybody else has been having this problem or can offer a reason for why this is happening. We are making a Documentary on the music scene in and around our Pottery Shop in the Mountains of North Carolina and periodic embedding of our videos within the music community on Myspace has been a fantastic way to get others in the country interested in our project. Lately, however, I've noticed our daily hits categorized as feeds by Blip has dropped from 600-700 per day to zero. The only traffic we've been logging has been from people who visit our Blip site directly. The only possible explanation I can think of is that I have recently have been altering the size of the Show Player provided by Blip for copying and pasting into other sites. In other words, I have been changing in the Html the size from say 620 x 510 to 350 x 225. This is all over my head, but I'm guessing that by doing this, Blip then does not recognize a hit received on one of my embedded videos. Any help here would be greatly appreciated. I'll leave ya'll with something much more entertaining. [videoblogging] Preventing embedded videos from playing automatically on Myspace message boards
I recently had an incident where many of the videos I had embedded on Myspace message boards from Blip Tv had started playing automatically. This had the extremely undesirable effect of fouling the audio on the homepage. We are making a documentary of the music scene in and around our pottery shop, and the video posts, which were mainly musical performances, were placed on the sites of musicians who were friends with the people in the videos. When our videos started playing automatically, we suddenly were flooded with angry complaints from musicians that our videos were messing up their pages. AHH!!! We had inadvertently become Spamers!!!I immediately deleted my videos from Blip and e-mailed their staff for a solution to this. I also put out a bulletin in Myspace explaining and apologizing for the problem. Embedding video can be a great way to build an audience, but this problem is suddenly making us more enemies than fans. I'm hoping there might be somebody in the videoblogging community who can toss me a lifeline here. Nick Friedman The Duckpond Pottery Brevard, North Carolina www.myspace.com/duckpondatdusk

[videoblogging] Re: Video conversion drops audio quality
--- In videoblogging@yahoogroups.com, Brian Richardson - WhatTheCast? [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: DVD-R uses the same MPEG-2 audio format (MPA) that a regular DVD will use. It's similar to MP3, but not exactly the same. The first thing to check is any quality settings on the camera. Since the DVD-R produces a compressed video, you want to shoot at the highest quality (i.e. shortest record time setting) to reduce the suck you take on with the first compression in the camera. There may even be an audio quality setting that's independent of the video quality setting. Next check what you're compressing to ... what's the bitrate on the resulting file? Higher is better. If that doesn't work and you have to have the best audio quality ... 1. Switch to a DV tape camera (shoot 16-but uncompressed stereo) 2. Record audio on a separate device, like a Zoom H2 or Zoom H4, then sync the audio in editing. duckpondpotter wrote: I'm suffering a drastic drop in audio quality when I convert my movies. I might have to spring for one of those. Do you have any recommendations for syncing a separate audio track. Do I just manually eyeball the sync on my editor or is there a way to automatically sync it while shooting? Thanks again for your help.
