Re: [videoblogging] Re: 3ivx Data Rate? what's going on? 16x9 Widescreen.... dummycast
If you are working in FCP, you need to have your sequence match your video. So if your are using anamorphic DV you need that sequence preset. Then, when you place your video in the sequence it won't have letterboxing. Now when you save for the web, instead of making your video 320 X 240 you'll have to pick some size that is proportional to your video. Something like 427 X 240 or 320 X 180. -- Verdi http://michaelverdi.com http://freevlog.org http://graymattergravy.com On Aug 23, 2005, at 8:19 AM, James A. You can only go back to QT6 if you go back to 10.3.9 or earlier. You can't have QT 6 and 10.4 -- Verdi http://michaelverdi.com http://freevlog.org http://graymattergravy.com On Aug 23, 2005, at 8:17 AM, James A. [videoblogging] Re: 3ivx Data Rate? what's going on? 16x9 Widescreen.... dummycast
Yeah the datarate on that clip is more like 2000. This is probably the known 3ivx bitrate bug. If you have QT7/Tiger then it appears 3ivx gets confused and doesnt honour the bitrate that you put in the box in dualpass mode. 3ivx fixing this bug themselves is the proper solution, but its been nearly 4 months since Tiger came out, so I dunno whats happening there. Ive never done any 16:9 stuff but I guess you might want to consider cropping out the black borders - right now I think it is actually encoding those black areas, wasting a bit of your bitrate. And for me personally Id like to see your content without the black borders, ie when quicktime plays it, the quicktime window itself goes to 16:9 aspect.
