[videoblogging] Re: WTF with YouTube?

2007-01-11 Thread Bill Cammack
To the right of the video, on the actual page that plays the video, you should
see Tags,
and under that should be URL, and under that should be Embed. Copy that
link.

Unless you're talking about a different kind of embedding.

I just ran across a video that I want to embed in my site. I seem to
remember this was easy to do with YouTube until recently: they gave you code
that you could paste in - I did this less than a month ago. Now when I click
on Post Video, they want me to jump through a bunch of hoops to enable my
blog for posting, and they don't currently have any way to do it on a
non-blog site. Does anyone know what's up with that?

Argh. If it was a snake, it woulda bit me. I think. Maybe they need to look
at their UI a bit - the way that page is laid out, it's not terribly obvious
that that code goes with that video.

Thanks for the help!

I did notice in their job announcements that they're looking for a UI
designer. Unfortunately for me, they probably don't want one living in
Italy. By now I've seen so many of the video hosting sites (thanks to my
comparison page) that I should hire myself out as a consultant on how NOT to
do it.
