hurray
yes it was great to have youtubers at pixelodeon!
they found out about creative commons and other such magical forces (like
other vloggers not on the YT)

hopefully we can get even more connected with them and the YT world
which i , personally, didn't feel too connected to until this weekend

very cool!

Yay, thats great to hear :) Im watching youtube closely to see if any
of them post video about it to help spread the word further.

Being a non-travelling socially backwards fool Ive mixed all the
pixelodeon fun, apart from Ruperts excellent coffee-powered
twittervlog coverage, is there any other video footage from the event
available online yet, or planned?

I was especially wondering how the creators rights/code of best
practice for media aggregators stuff went.

Cheers

[videoblogging] Re: youtubers at Pixelodeon

2007-06-11 Thread Steve Watkins
Oops I meant missed not mixed, got mashups on the brain!

Anyway congrats to all the pixelodeon organisers contributors,
sounds like you made a wonderful thang happen, commiserations to
anybody who was too busy working at the event to fully participate it,
I hate it when that happens.

Oh yeah and for the sake of clarity, when I referred to watching for
youtubers posting about pixelodeon, I see quite a few videos from
before the event, but none since it happened, but then again its still
early days and Im sure a lot of peeps are still coming back to earth
after an intense weekend.

How many youtubers do people reckon attended? Gotta chuckle slightly
about their comments about getting millions of views, I know youtube
can be a great platform for getting lots of viewers but I think they
were getting just a teensy bit carried away there.

Cheers

Excellent, cheers :) Have a well deserved rest, I never cease to be
impressed with the stuff people manage to achieve.

I dont think I was paying enough attention to all this Pixelodeon
stuff, was it instead of vloggercom this year or is one of those
happening too?

Before anyone chokes on their milk and cookies, it's probably worth pointing
out that several-million viewers tends to be a one (or, if you're lucky)
two-time thing - but yes, you're looking at people who enjoy a baseline
five-figure viewership per video.

At Pixelodeon, Robert Boyle curated a very solid play-list reflecting the
vibrant, conversational dynamics in YouTube, including the possibilities for
pranksterism, and without shying away from the storm-clouds of negativity
that can swirl around the shores of YT. I believe a links list will be
online shortly. Worth checking out.
