Re: [videoblogging] Vlog Critics Analysis
I would, too, and imagine it will come as vlogging moves into the mainstream consciousness. We have movie critics, TV critics, and book critics - why not vlog critics? As far as this group goes, the prevailing ethos seems to be we want to encourage vlogging, so it's all wonderful. Re: [videoblogging] Vlog Critics Analysis
So go ahead. You're as qualified as anybody to be a vlog critic, probably more so since you've been watching them for a while and obviously care. And we both agree that Zadi's work is fantastic, so in my book, you're a smart critic. grinOn 9/27/05, Mat Wall-Smith [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Yeah...I completely understand that attitude...or I did up until a few months ago when it got much busier round here. Thanks...thats what I was looking for...I hope this picks up again. Although looking at the list of contributors I wonder what hours in the day these people can possibly have left!! I really enjoyed reading the bare bones reading and analysis of Zadi's post in The New York Times. It was good to see another level of engagement and understanding being practiced/developed. Zadi's work really does deserve this level of engagement and I thought it was great to see that value being discussed. It may also help counter the 'I've not seen any vlog worth watching' crowd and ensure that great posts are recognized and discussed, maybe even get the press to move beyond the 'people post video on the internet' novelty account.. Anyway..anyone interested or have ideas on this? Of course by 'criticism' I really mean thinking about how the post/medium achieves what it doesthis is positive not negative and would only apply to some styles of blogging - Anyway someone might be doing this...would love to see it. We need to institute a 36 hour day :) Vlogworkshop is a great idea (imho) and it would be great to keep up. But yeah, we are all really busy. And it seems we just get busier. I haven't had a chance to even post a videoblog in weeks. On 9/27/05, Mat Wall-Smith [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Thanks...thats what I was looking for...I hope this picks up again. http://xolo.tv/ Gabe and Gabe review vlogs there sometimes. They haven't in a while, though, with VlogEurope and all.
