Re: [Videolib] question about National Film Board of Canada
I will add something too - I know we (the NFB) have had trouble with generating MARC records but, very soon, these will be available with LC Subject headings and correct credit information on the nfb.ca site for subscribing libraries. The films absolutely hold their own blown up to a 63 1080i plasma. Therefore, they will look good in a classroom situation unlike some other streaming sites where going full screen on a laptop looks dreadful. The NFB has been at this for many years starting with their pilot Cineroute project 10 years ago, and they're continuing to lead the way. [Videolib] Streaming video collections for small special library
Hi, I know that some academic libraries have subscribed to Netflix DVD service (not without controversy!), but I wonder if any libraries are using streaming services to augment their collections accessing via institutional subscriptions. Thanks for sharing experiences. We are a small library in an organization of approx. 400 government employees. -Katherine _ Katherine Kasirer Bibliothécaire de référence |Reference Librarian Gestion de l'information | Information Management Planification stratégique et relations gouvernementales | Strategic Planning and Government Relations Office national du film | National Film Board 3155, chemin de la Côte-de-Liesse, Montréal QC H4N 2N4 | 3155 Cote-de-Liesse Road, Montreal QC H4N 2N4 k.kasi...@onf.camailto:k.kasi...@onf.ca | k.kasi...@nfb.camailto:k.kasi...@nfb.ca Téléphone | Telephone: 514-283-9045 Télécopieur | Facsimile : 514-283-9811 Gouvernement du Canada | Government of Canada VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and related institutions.
