RE: Mobile Banking Apps - Santander Bank
Hi Robin, I think there are 2 apps available, one is personal banking and the other is mobile. You are right the personal app is great, billpay is very simple. I think the mobile app is where you can deposit checks and other stuff I am not aware of. Re: Sonos questions
Ok, but if i ungroup one player and that player has the music/audio book i’m playing, it can’t be reached in the other rooms anymore so that’s not a real choice is it? Or can i somehow transfer what’s playing in the kitchen to the player in the bedroom without choosing it from the library? 9 juni 2015 kl. 04:10 skrev Sieghard Weitzel siegh...@live.ca: Hi Krister, To turn off one player that is in a group is not really possible as such since the player has no on/off button or a stop button. Turn down the volume on the player that is in the room which you don’t want to play all the way 2. Use the app to mute the player which you don’t want to play, this has to be done via the app 3. So you have two options, group them and change the volume on each zone as and when you wish to, either using the physical buttons on the player as and when you enter the room and leave it again. Or, you can adjust the volume using the iOS controller App either in sync, i.e. change the two volumes at the same time and at the same level, or, you can adjust them from the App independently of each other. Either way, adding zones to a group, and later removing them, or, changing the volume using the App or physical buttons, with Sonos its as easy as ABC 1,2,3. You can group players or zones as Sonos call them together, this means that the source shall be played in complete sync across any zone within that group, so, an audio book or other source. You can, provided you have either an Apple AirPort Express/Extreme connected to your Sonos system, play directly from your Audible or other iOS App using AirPlay, or, music from within the Sonos controller App from your phone / iPad / iPod Touch to your Sonos system, either single zone or group. Simple. With Pandora, you don’t pick the songs you want to hear. You just give it parameters, artists, genres, etc, and the app plays what it thinks you want to listen to. Correct, but does a whole lot more. Until now, internet radio was via a database from a source I don't know which both iTunes and Apple TV uses. RE: Mobile Banking Apps - Santander Bank
I use Chase app and the computer, works fine but, I tried to get my cousin to photo a check for deposit last week and after five tries we took it to the bank ATM. She can see but we just could not get it right. I seldom have a check to put in, thank goodness but this was my income tax return. The rest of the app is accessible and I can generally get the same info as I do on the computer, I can pay bills, transfer funds etc. I use the computer when I want to check statements, or just look at expenses because it shows more on the screen and I don't have to keep swiping. Both the app and the online banking site are accessible, however, there are many links to get through to get where you want to go, whereas the app is easier to use to get exactly where you want to be if you are rushed for time. iPhone 5 Automatically Adjusting to New Time When switching Time Zones
Hi, all. Last week I traveled into a different time zone but my Verizon iPhone 5 running Ios 8.3 didn't automatically adjust to the new time zone while people with Verizon flip phones had the correct time as soon as we entered the new time zone. I had to shut down my phone and restart it to have my time updated. I had to do the same thing when returning home. this was just a regular powering off of the phone and switching it back on, no hard reset or anything, no big deal, just a slight inconvenience. I thought all cell phones automatically updated to show the current time whether they're on or not. Is there a setting I need to tweak in my phone? I'll be traveling several time zones away later this month, so having this info would be a good thing. Re: Sonos questions
Louise, Glad to hear.., In terms of NAS, I stick with ReadynAS from NetGear, they are not the best, but, they haven’t let me down to date. Reasonably priced and I put hard drives in usually made by any of the main manufacturers, ask if you need advice. Most NAS interface’s which run over your network are poor from an accessibility stance, however, not completely so, the key thing is you will likely only ever need to configure it once, then just leave it well be. Mine’s been operating quite happily now for several years without intervention. As Sieghard has already answered most of this hopefully you’re already good, but, here’s a quick round up. Shuffle mode for music playback with the iPhone iOS controller is found within the Queue, which is the very last button on the iOS controller for iPhone, bottom right of the screen. Double tap this and at the top there are three options, close the queue, shuffle and repeat. You can also from this menu select by double tapping on it any of the tracks in your queue, you can also, at the bottom of the screen edit the queue, save the queue for future play and other options. The iPad controller for iOS has a few more of the discrete menu controls out on the main interface owing to the greater level of screen relostate available on that platform. Sieghard is correct, when using the stream function from another device to the Sonos system you cannot access music locally stored on other devices with controllers installed to play that music, however, as Sieghard has said, you can have this music on a computer/laptop on your network, which must be left on at all times you want it, and, it must be within a folder that is publicly accessible on the network, the other, better option is a NAS (network attached storage) unit or network hard-drive. These use very little electricity and are an always on solution, this is what I do personally, then anyone using your system can access that music from any controller at any time. Hope that this helps, and, welcome to Sonos! Re: Sonos questions
Krister, Don’t worry about it at all, sometimes when you use something so very much you forget that trying to understand how it works when you do not have the physical thing in front of you to interact with makes it harder to understand. When you begin a stream on your Sonos units, any of them, they begin playing that source, if you add another zone to that group that zone also plays, in perfect sync, that source too. Now if you ditch the first zone from the group the other one, or other ones, continue playing that source. Try not to think of you playing a source from your iPhone or internet radio etc to a specific Sonos player or zone, but, rather think of your iPhone as a remote control in your hand. Press play on a source, tell it where to play, then, add more zones if you like, add one or more, then, remove them at your own choice. When you add a zone to make a group you will then control that group with your iPHone controller in your hand, if you remove a zone from that group, then the remaining zone will continue to play that source. I hope that this makes it a little clearer. NFB pputs everybody under the impression, particularly when they are trying to raise money for the newsline that it includes all the content from the paper. That is patently false. Has anyone noticed that before with the NFB Newsline app, and is this something to do with the app itself, or would the Daisy version that I receive via e-mail have that problem, too? If the Daisy content's okay, is there a way that I can somehow get the Daisy content from my e-mail attachments into something like, say, Voice Dream reader or iBooks? I'm really curious about this. It will be interesting how that would work. I mean, realistically they couldn't be there at the same time at the same place, or they certainly couldn't be in two different places at once. RE: Apple Music goes official, free for 3 months
Noone's forcing anyone to do anything. All these streaming services... I mean, slight differences aside, they're all playing the same exact music. You could maybe just maybe talk me into forking over a few bucks a month, but $10.00? I think I'll pass. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of BBS Sent: Tuesday, June 09, 2015 3:51 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: Apple Music goes official, free for 3 months Hi guys. You might think I'm cheap for saying this and some of you might flame me but oh well. My only complaints are the price tag and the fact that they're forcing you to pay $10 a month for the service after the three month trial is done. It would be nice if they were a little bit like Spotify in which they let you an use Apple Music for free but with restrictions and ads. Granted, an argument could be made that that's what iTunes Radio is for but we don't have that in Canada and sadly I don't think we ever will. That is one of the nice things about Spotify. You can get a free account with ads. It is nothing like the paid account though. The quality is not as good and the selection is not as great, but it is free. I can also use it on my PC without going into iTunes. I know some people like the fact that Apple will learn to make suggestions based on the things you search for, but I will make my own selections, thank you. I realize no one is forcing me to either go Apple music or use their suggestions. I do find it interesting however, that all these players simply recreate the wheel that other services are using just so they can make money. I know, it's the way of capitalism, but sometimes it seems like children playing in a sand box and not getting along very well. Very rich children, mind you. I'm not sure what you're referring to when you say that GPS could be much more accurate if the government allowed it. The US government turned off selective availability in May of 2000. RE: Question of how to clip an iPhone video to a shorter length, and then export for uploading
Good idea. Thanks. My daughter is sighted, so with her explaining to me, I think we can figure it out. We found an iMovie tutorial on YouTube, and it seems do-able. We also found out there’s a YouTube Editor route, too. So, if iMovie doesn’t work, we’ll try the YouTube Editor.
