Hi, I got the Echo for Christmas and Love it!!! I have had no problems
working with the App at all. Just so you know, if you pick a radio station
such as in Florida, you need to choose it on the app itself or it will
default to the local station of the same radio firm. Andy and Shubert

Hi Amy,
Really stupid question. You do have the latest version of the app, right?
The only reason I ask is because there was a long while where it really
wasn't accessible. You could double tap on those things until your finger
fell off, and it wouldn't do you any good.but the current version works
fine, at least for me on my 6s. I just double tap on the tab and it is
selected. For instance, if I double tap on the skills tab, the first page of
23 possible pages shows up. If that's not working for you, I have no idea.

RE: Moving an app using the Amazon basic keyboard.

2016-02-09 Thread Fazil
Hi.

Ihae Logitech-K810 Bluetooth keyboard, IPhone6Plus and IOS9.2

I can move an app with VO-shift-m just fine, however, when I get to desired
folder and repeat the VO-shift-m command in order to dump the app here, it
brings up an edit field to edit the folder’s name instead of pasting the app
here. Am I doing something wrong?

Your help is much appreciated.

Thanks!

Bluetooth Keyboard command for speaking text style on iOS?

2016-02-09 Thread Scott Davert
Hi all.
With a braille display, you can have VoiceOver tell you what the text
style of the text you are currently on is. For example, 18 point bold,
and the font type. Does anyone know of a bluetooth keyboard command or
gesture to do this?

Thanks for any help!

Re: Traffic Alerts

2016-02-09 Thread Wayne Merritt
If you use the Google search app, and enable Google Now, you can view
the Now cards that have different information below the search area,
like traffic, weather, and news. To do this you will have to grant
Google access to your location regardless if the app is running or
not. If you want to know if traffic is light or heavy before you leave
for work or home then this might be a good option. The Google Maps app
will also give you a word about traffic after you start the navigation
part, by saying that "traffic is light and your way is clear," in the
beginning of giving you directions.

Re: Focus 14 braille display won't stay connected to iphone

2016-02-09 Thread englishrider91
I don't know if this will help at all, but when I found out that there's a very
specific way to disconnect/reconnect a Braille display from an iOS device, I've
followed it ever since. "connect the display as usual. Now, whenever you want
to disconnect, make sure to lock your phone first, then press the power button
on the display to turn it off. When you want to reconnect, turn the display on
first, then press the sleep/wake button or the home button on your phone. Your
display should reconnect automatically. I still sometimes have connection
problems, but not as much as I used to before I learned to follow this process.
Hope this helps.

Thanks,
Ari

Did Chrome update fix all Voiceover issues?

2016-02-09 Thread David Cleveland
I noticed that the latest Chrome update description mentions Voiceover fixes.
Is it safe to install this update? I have held off from updating since I read
about the problems with the update from a few weeks ago.

Re: Sharing a song wit a friend

2016-02-09 Thread 'Carol Pearson' via VIPhone
Well, as I saw your note after reading that it was not possible if it was a
recording from iTunes, I took the plunge and bought your app because you were
responding to someone who suggested that it would not be possible if it was a
song from iTunes. No, I can't do it with an iPhone song either. I think you
really misled me a little! Never mind, I will be able to make some use of it.
Anyway, it didn't cost very much but are there any other limitations we should
know about? By the way, I have used it successfully in sending and email.

Oh, whilst writing, I am wondering if it is possible for you to tweak the app
and make it a little more intuitive. It would be most helpful if you could put
the buttons in order that we would need to use them, usually, and also if they
are labelled appropriately. I do hope you can do this. It will improve the app
for us! Carol P

That may be because it's showing how many, at most, it may be able to send.

Just guessing here as I had a message once indicating that the amount I
wanted to send could not be sent.

Haven't tried it but you could use the "Send a link" feature if you're

Two good resources for accessible children's books are Reading Rainbow. This is
an iPad app, so I can't add the link. The other is Epics. Epic! - Unlimited

audiobooks. There is a monthly fee of $4.95 after your first month trial

Re: ANYONE OUT THERE USE MBRAILLE, CALENDAR FEATURE, with Fantastical, please?

2016-02-09 Thread 'Carol Pearson' via VIPhone

Hi Chris,

I've tried some more and still can't get this to work.

I've used uncontracted Braille (even throughout) and am in the UK, so
date format is dd-mm-yy!

My last entry tried was
.cal "Alison, Guide Dogs" "11-2-2016 11:00"
This, hopefully, was to schedule Alison from Guide Dogs to come at 11:00
on 11th February 2016.

I've also tried the 02 approach for the month.

I'm trying an "Enter" when completed, but have tried three-finger swipe
left, all without success.

Any ideas?

I've never got this to work here in the UK and so am very keen to learn
if anyone else in the UK has got the calendar to work reliably and of
course to hear from you on what you think I may be doing incorrectly.

Thanks to you and anyone else who chimes in with any further help.

First, it works better when you use grade 1 braille to enter the dot cal

I did notice that after typing the start date, I had to do a letter sign dots 4

I scheduled a meeting for tomorrow at 1 PM with an alert of 30 minutes, and a
location of Office. I typed this into MBraille:
.cal Meeting "2016-02-09 13:00" alert 30 min location: Office

If you tell me what you are trying to enter, then I will be happy to help you
figure out what you need to write to add the event to your calendar.

Hope this helps,

Chris

Re: New phone, and questions setting up Bluetooth keyboard

2016-02-09 Thread Candy Lowe
Go to settings and make sure that blue tooth is turned on. Tap on the blue
tooth and you should see my devices. Since this is a new phone, you may not
have any blue tooth devices. Then flick to the right until you see other
devices. Make sure that your keyboard is turned on. After a few seconds, the
phone should see it. It is possible that there is a button on the keyboard
that needs to be pressed in order for it to be recognized, but, not knowing
this keyboard, I can't say for sure. Then the phone should say blue tooth
keyboard. Double tap on this. You will probably get a pairing request which
means you will have to enter a four digit code. The phone will read the code.
Enter it into the field and then press enter. You should then be good to go.
If you have any problems, let me know.

Re: ANYONE OUT THERE USE MBRAILLE, CALENDAR FEATURE, with Fantastical, please?

2016-02-09 Thread Chris Chaffin
Hello,

Sorry you are still having problems.

I did notice that for the month you just entered 2, but it should be 02.
Now I typed in what you said, with the exception of putting 02 instead of just
2, and it did work for me, it just put the appointment on November 2, and not
February 11.

So try typing:

.cal "Allison, Guide Dogs" "11-02-2016 11:00"

I hope this helps!

Chris

New phone, and questions setting up Bluetooth keyboard

2016-02-09 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello everyone,

I hope you are doing well. Yesterday, I switched to AT, and I got an
iPhone 5S. I am very thrilled to have this phone. I have wanted and I
prayed for a long time now. Anyway, I have a Bluetooth keyboard that I used
with my iPhone 4s. I cannot remember what it is called. I got it from
Walmart a while back, and it only cost $20. I can't afford to get an
expensive one.

Can someone please tell me how I add my Bluetooth keyboard? My Bluetooth on
my phone is on. This would be very much appreciated. I love my new phone.
It is faster, in response quicker to me. When I get wireless next month, I
want to try the Alex voice.

Thank you again,

Terri
