Hi. Then that email wasn't setup properly for Voiceover to detect languages.
That's all I know, someone else that's more savvy in that department can chime
in here.

Re: how to turn on automatic voice switching on iphone

2016-02-10 Thread Brett

Hi,

Automatic language switching will happen automatically when you are using the
voice that you have set as the default voice.

Cheers,
Brett.

RE: Question about iPhone 5s

2016-02-10 Thread Ron Pelletier
Hi again Simon,

Just because your plan is finished doesn't mean you have to get a new plan.
You can continue with that plan and see what happens when the iPhone S E does.
At least, they think that's what its going to be called and, like Ioana said,
you may be able to get the 5S for nothing at all on a 2-year plan.

As a matter of fact, you'd better check again with Bell because I was told that
the iPhone 5S is the free one this year on a 2-year plan.

Hi Simon,

I agree with everything Ron said. However if you are not in a hurry and can
wait a few months around April or so there should be a new phone the same size
as the 5 s with even better specks. You might just be able to get it for the
same price or, maybe get the 5 s cheeper then.

Re: Accessible children's books on iPhon/iPad

Another idea is to use Bard or Bookshare for reading to children. Find a few
books that the child may like and by them in print. Read the books with the
child. The child uses the print book while the adult uses the audio version of
the book to read to the child.

Re: how to turn on automatic voice switching on iphone

2016-02-10 Thread Shawn Krasniuk
It must have to do with whatever you're reading. If you have it set to your
default language, then it should automatically change to whatever language
you're reading. But sometimes, if websites, emails or whatever else you're
reading aren't structured properly, Voiceover won't detect the language it's in.

Dear all.

Is there any app which will allow me to change the station using forward and
back button on my Bluetooth keyboard or Bluetooth headphones. In the case of
tune in radio app I have to go back to the list of stations and choose another
station from that list.
Thanks for any suggestions

Re: Accessible children's books on iPhon/iPad

Along the lines of this subject, I am actuallly looking for books that are

took me to the App Store. Hope this helps.

Cloud storage and iPhone storage

2016-02-10 Thread Harry Bell
I'm trying to help a friend who has an iPhone 6 16GB: she has a huge Photos
library on her Mac and 99GB of music in iTunes. She has today increased her
iCloud storage plan and on her Mac has turned on iCloud Photo Library and
iTunes Match. But when I checked Apple support discussions online, it seems
that, though Apple stores and streams the photos and music from their iCloud,
the iCloud Photo Library hogs a big chunk of an iPhones internal storage (about
10% of the size of the original Mac library) whereas iTunes Match scarcely
occupies any of the iPhone's internal space. Is this correct? If so, why do the
two storage services have each such a different impact on an iPhones internal
storage?
Thanks

Re: New phone, and questions setting up Bluetooth keyboard

2016-02-10 Thread Terri Stimmel
Hello there candy,

Thank you for the help with the Bluetooth keyboard. I was doing everything
correctly. But I am glad I asked for the help anyway.

I don't see anything that says other devices. All it shows is that the
iPhone is discoverable, and then it says in progress, but it never finds
anything. And there is a link that I could click on, if I had an Apple
Watch. My keyboard is called,Onn. Lauren
I don't know if I need a new keyboard, or what? I have pushed every button
on this keyboard and different combinations. But nothing seems to make a
difference. I really don't know what to do.

Are there cheap but usable keyboards I can get either from Walmart, or
target? I just don't have a lot of money to spend. I apologize for any
mistakes this message has. I am using dictation, and it just does not treat
me right. LOL! Although, it does seem to do better than my for S did. So
that is a plus.

Any help with this would be very much appreciated!

Thank you,

Terri

Hello all:
I found a brain teaser game on Apps Gone Free today. It is inaccessible so I
thought I would alert the developer by sending a review in the app store.
However, every time I try to write a review the app store flips me back to the
page where I can get the app. Does anyone know how to stop this from happening
or better yet how to contact the developer? I think this would be a very fun
and brain exercising game, always good to get the brain working, especially
when getting older. [smiles) Any help you might be able to give me is
appreciated. Perhaps there is a similar game that is accessible?

Is there a gesture to get quickly to the top or bottom of a long list?
Specifically, I’m hoping for a faster way to skip down a long list of podcast
episodes, email, or options in settings, and probably other things escaping my
thoughts.

Also, I was listening to a podcast on using a Bluetooth keyboard with
VoiceOver. A keyboard way to do a “find” on the screen was mentioned. Is
there a way to trigger that Find dialog option with a gesture?

If you have the KNFB Reaûer app, you can do a double-tap and hold on the immage

this as well, but you might to double-check on that—I ûon't use Prizmo often,

communication between androids and IPhones

2016-02-10 Thread Vicki
I was told there was a program which would permit an IPhone user to communicate
with an android user using Facetime or a similar program that either one or the
other or both users needed to install.

Does anyone know what this is and where to find it? Which user needs the
program on his or her phone.

Thanks.

RE: Google books results

2016-02-10 Thread Gary Bowers
Sandy,

I haven't checked this out yet, but I hope it helps a bit.

The quoted section below is from:

http://books.google.com/books?jtp=1&id=f8ANQAAJ

A shortened URL is below:

http://tinyurl.com/hb3ccak

5. Plain Text Mode - We've made it easier to find our plain text versions of
public domain books. If a book is available in full view, you can click the
'Plain text' button in the toolbar to see our HTML version of the text (derived
via OCR for full view books). This is especially useful for visually impaired
Google users, who can use this format for text-to-speech and other types of
software.

Re: Question about iPhone 5s

2016-02-10 Thread Ioana Gandrabur
Hi Simon,

I agree with everything Ron said. However if you are not in a hurry and can
wait a few months around April or so there should be a new phone the same size
as the 5 s with even better specks. You might just be able to get it for the
same price or, maybe get the 5 s cheeper then.

Hth,

Ioana

The larger size hard drive you have, the more your 5S is worth. If you stick
with the low-end bottom of the line phone you won't get as much as you usually
would because everybody seems to want to cheapest phone possible not the best
phone possible.

Tips for transferring music to iPhone with folder-like structure?

2016-02-10 Thread Gerardo Corripio

 HI guys
Tips so that the music on my iPhone gets transferred as much as possible
similar to how on an mP3 Player in which each folder is an album? How
I've proceeded so far is before transferring the music to the phone, via
the MP3Tag program on my Windows7 Laptop, where it says album, I rename
the list of songs, to the name of the folder, in this case Houston's
music; also where it says artist, I put various, but why even though I
made these changes, does my phone still show names like Houston music
Sheryl crow, Houston music Billy joel etc? I'd liked to have Houston
music Various as one album, but can this be done, did I maybe not select
all the files, even though I'm sure I did before relabling them with MP3
Tag? Thanks for info.

I have an iPhone 5S. I've had it almost 2 years and it works great.
You don't have to use the finger print feature if you don't want to.
I know nothing of your phone companies, so can't comment on that.
If you plan to use a lot of music or audio, I would go with more than the basic
16GB of memory.

How to move an app to a different page on the I phone with the Amazon Bluetooth basic keyboard.

2016-02-10 Thread Terri Elliott
Hi. I listened to that podcast on moving an app from a folder by pressing
control option shift and the letter m. It says that it is moving the app from
the folder and then you're supposed to press the escape key and according to
the instructions you find where you want to move it too by scrolling and then
when you find where you want to move it too you press control option and the
letter h to close out the editing. but I can't figure out how to move it to a
different page on the phone. The app is on page 3 at the end of page 3 but I
don't want it on that page. I want to move it on page 1. How do I go about
moving it? Thanks.
