Re: Sharing files from dropbox and voice dream reader

2017-03-18 Thread Richard Turner

I don't use FaceBook, so I am not sure if you can send attachments via
FaceBook, but the only way I know of to send an audio file from Voice Dream
Reader is to select export original file, rather than the share button.

I suggest Accu radio. It is a free app with many genres and multiple subclasses
within those. You cannot request a song or artist, but you can tell it not to
play one again. It is fully accessible. Very, very few commercials and most of
them are just three second self promotions.

Re: Putting music on an iPhone

2017-03-18 Thread Evan Reese

Thanks for this description.
I have an iPad Mini 4 with 128GB of memory, most of which is not yet filled,
but I have more music than that, so I won't be able to fit all of my music
on it. So I'll have to make selections of my favorites and leave some music
out. This method sounds very simple and I'm going to try it out.

Hi Kelly,

Depending on how big somebody's iPhone is and how much music they have it
may not be quite as simple as that since somebody may only want some of
their music on the iPhone. Up until recently selecting particular artists or
albums was not possible, but ti is possible again and you are correct, it is
not that difficult. The basic steps are this:

1. Conect your phone and open iTunes
2. Activate the button for your device
3. Tab a couple of times until you get to the treeview which starts with
"Summary" and arrow down to Music
4. Tab until you get to the checkbox for "Sync Music" and make sure it's
checked, tab again until you find the options to either sync all music or to
sync selected music. If you want to sync all music simply select this and
then go to File > Devices and select to sync your device. If you want to
sync selected music check this and then tab to whichever listview you want
(genres, artists or albums, arrow down that list and select the ones you
want to sync by pressing the spacebar on each one. When you are done tab to
Apply or go via File > Devices > Sync.

As Sieghard said, when itunes is open press alt F to open the file menu,
cursor down to add folder to library or add file to library then pres enter.
a dialog box appears where the user needs to browse to the file or folder
and select it. for most people, albums are in folders and individual audio
tracks are single files. Have the folks having problems tried these basic
steps?

Once added to the library, the audio files will synchronize to the iPhone
when it is connected to the computer and iTunes is open. What in the hell
is there not to understand?

Just as Tom who did the Podcast I have not yet gotten the WiFi
sync/transfer to work, it may take a sighted person since you have to
first connect the iPhone and click on a "gear icon" which does not
seem to be accessible. This is sort of a settings area where you first
have to enable the wireless connection. It does state in the FAQ that
this feature is still in beta, but then again I never found iTunes
WiFi Sync to work very reliably or, if it worked, to be very fast.

I have checked for coupon codes and while there maybe better ones out
there, I did find one, "WELOVE7LABS" which when you enter it during
checkout (without the quotation symbols of course) will give you 5%
off, it is only $2, but then again $2 is better than $0.

Re: query about Belkin splitter was: any good lightning head set recommendation

2017-03-18 Thread Wayne Merritt
Tara,
if I understand your question, the Belkin splitter has one lightning
plug and two lightning ports. If the keyboard could plug into one of
those lightning ports, then you could probably use it to charge and
use the keyboard at the same time. Otherwise, it doesn't sound like
it. Perhaps someone will or has created a similar splitter that can
let you connect different devices for a low price. I haven't regretted
my purchase of the Belkin Rock Star splitter in the last few months.

Good luck,
Wayne

I really like the Earpods that come with all iPhones, I guess you
 should
have received a set of Earpods with Lightning connector with your
 iPhone
 7. They are also available as a separate purchase.
I purchased a set to use at home with my iPhone 6S Plus just because I
like to have a back-up in case my every-day pair breaks and I also was
curious as to the sond quality of Lightning versus 3.5mm jack.
For whatever it's worth my 50-year old ears hear maybe a very small
quality improvement, but not that much. I definitely think the Earpods
whether 3.5mm or Lightning are one of the best headset deals in that
price range out there. I know there are some people say the Earpods
 don't
fit them well and that's of course a problem, but they fit my ears
 great,
they stay put and I like how I can just put them in lightly and get
 good
sound yet still hear 95% of everything else going on

RE: Bluetooth headset

2017-03-18 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Bluetooth headsets without delay/lag don't exist at this point. Some are better
than others and I found that the price or bluetooth version have nothing to do
with how good they are with respect to lag. I once bought a $200 Plantronics
Backbeat Sense which had Bluetooth 4.0 and it sounded awesome and had wonderful
controls, but the delay was litterally a full second or worse and I returned it.

Hi list,

I was wondering if any one could give me a idea on the best bluetooth headset I
can get. I have a awesome pair of bose sound link. They have unbelievable sound
quality. I am looking for a second pair to use for typing. My only gripe is
that majority of the headphones which are bluetooth are latency while typing. I
do not use dictation for I do not want everyone hearing my text messages. I do
not want to use a bluetooth keyboard for I feel it is quite intrusive and a
pain to carry while out traveling.

Any recommendations I would sincerely appreciate.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Working with bookmarks on an iPhone

2017-03-18 Thread Mary Otten
OK, thanks, Billy. Obviously, even though I heard VoiceOver say bookmarks when
I saved my page previously, it went into favorites. I never saw any other boxes
or anything. So I went into favorites and deleted the bookmark and re-saved it
through the share choice. Again, VoiceOver send bookmarks and this time I
actually got the choice. It does save to favorites by default. And it's not at
all clear that you have a choice. That is, when you get to favorites, it says
"selected" without any indication that if you double tap there you will have
other choices. But double tapping does in fact give you other choices. So, in
my opinion, it's not particularly well done, but it does work.

RE: Putting music on an iPhone

2017-03-18 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Kelly,

Depending on how big somebody's iPhone is and how much music they have it may
not be quite as simple as that since somebody may only want some of their music
on the iPhone. Up until recently selecting particular artists or albums was not
possible, but ti is possible again and you are correct, it is not that
difficult. The basic steps are this:

1. Conect your phone and open iTunes
2. Activate the button for your device
3. Tab a couple of times until you get to the treeview which starts with
"Summary" and arrow down to Music
4. Tab until you get to the checkbox for "Sync Music" and make sure it's
checked, tab again until you find the options to either sync all music or to
sync selected music. If you want to sync all music simply select this and then
go to File > Devices and select to sync your device. If you want to sync
selected music check this and then tab to whichever listview you want (genres,
artists or albums, arrow down that list and select the ones you want to sync by
pressing the spacebar on each one. When you are done tab to Apply or go via
File > Devices > Sync.

Regards,
Sieghard

As Sieghard said, when itunes is open press alt F to open the file menu, cursor
down to add folder to library or add file to library then pres enter. a dialog
box appears where the user needs to browse to the file or folder and select it.
for most people, albums are in folders and individual audio tracks are single
files. Have the folks having problems tried these basic steps?

Once added to the library, the audio files will synchronize to the iPhone when
it is connected to the computer and iTunes is open. What in the hell is there
not to understand?

Hi all.
I am aware about this splitter but not sure if the other side can be
used for any other purpose. I am hoping to use this splitter to charge
the phone while I am using a wired keyboard on an Ipad. Does anybody
know if that is possible?

Hi Carol,

There isn't much to this application and Tom demonstrates it very well in his

would require sighted assistance to enable it.

Just as Tom who did the Podcast I have not yet gotten the WiFi sync/transfer to
work, it may take a sighted person since you have to first connect the iPhone
and click on a "gear icon" which does not seem to be accessible. This is sort
of a settings area where you first have to enable the wireless connection. It
does state in the FAQ that this feature is still in beta, but then again I
never found iTunes WiFi Sync to work very reliably or, if it worked, to be very
fast.

I have checked for coupon codes and while there maybe better ones out there, I
did find one, "WELOVE7LABS" which when you enter it during checkout (without
the quotation symbols of course) will give you 5% off, it is only $2, but then
again $2 is better than $0.

Well, I actually found the link I saved in bookmarks. It went into
"favorites". I had not opened the favorites folder, so I do not know why it
went there. This still leaves me wondering how to move bookmarks in and out
of folders or how to save a bookmark to a folder where I actually wanted to

RE: Questions about Uber

2017-03-18 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
It must definitely depend on the market, when I was in Calgary I never saw
anything about an Uber Assist option either.

Sorry, but here in Ohio, the only options for UBER is UberX and XL.
Never heard of this assist. They don't even offer black or that other option
anymore I forget what it was.

Folks, the Uber team were clear about how they monitor communication between
drivers and clients because it is within the Uber App.
If you are refused with a service animal it will only be after you have
confirmation of the ride along with the driver's name, car type and license
plate number.
Uber operates under the same laws as any other drivers for hire including
taxis, therefore, face the same consequences if refusing those of us with
service dogs.
Selecting Uber Assist will increase the likelihood of getting a more
experienced driver that may be more familiar with disabled clients.
Uber Assist is the same pricing as Uber X and the wait time is usually inside
10 minutes.

It is the expectation and goal of Uber to make their service available to all
clients, understanding that 100% compliance is what they are striving
for.
Just like any other service that we use when accompanied by our guide Dogs, it
may well be an opportunity for us to educate.

I have been denied 4 different times from drivers.
One of them absolutely yelled her head off at me stating I didn't give her a
heads up, then insisted I bring loads of blankets to cover her intire car even
though the dog was on the floor.
UBER will just talk to the drivers, but I have found out earlier this week that
UBER technically can't do anything to the drivers though UBER will say they can
disallow them from using the platform.
UBER has contacted me when I report it within 24-48 hours, but again, all they
will tell you is that they will talk to the driver.
If the driver charges you a cancelation fee, you will get a credit for that fee
towards your next ride.

RE: any good lightning head set recommendation

2017-03-18 Thread Alan Lemly
Ari,

I know some of the third-party lightning splitters they sell on Amazon don't
allow use of the earpod remote buttons when connected through them. The Belkin
one sold through the Apple Store does allow full functionality and I use mine
all the time with my wired earpods and my iPhone 7 while it's charging.

I'll do that. Can't remember where I heard you can't use the iPhone controller
with these splitters, but I remember it was on an article I was reading
comparing a few splitters that had a lightning port and a 3.5 mm headphone
port. Thanks for letting me know that the headphone controller works with the
Belkin splitter.

Hi, can you tell me the name of this app?
Also, I am using pedometer plus plus. Does anyone have any opinion on how

Subject: RE: Accessible Pedometer

Hi,

The simplest mode is the Start button in the middle of the screen which starts
the treadmill. It will not work if the phone is in a case on your belt. It must
detect movement which I learned the hard way after walking several miles with
it strapped in in a holster on my belt instead of in my pocket one day. And the
stop button to the left of the start button, once pressed, will give you
several options including saving and resetting or just resetting. Once you stop
the treadmill you go into history and look at the very top of the list of
numbers to see what each number represents.

For example, Date, time, distance, steps, average miles per hour, calories
burned.

The only part I have found in the app that I cannot use effectively is of
course the graph tab which I cannot see to chart my progress graphically.

I always get a kick out of using it to go to the mailbox because if I stand
still while getting mail out of the box which is a half mile round trip it will
beep at me to remind me not to stand still so I probably look ridiculous
prancing around getting mail out of the box so as to keep it from quitting on
me before I get back to the apartment.

Hope that helps,

Merv

Uber in the news, was: [GTT-Toronto] Notes from last night's GTT meeting on Uber

2017-03-18 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Just as a comment regarding what was said in these minutes about Uber rides
being 30 to 40% cheaper than taxi rides I can only say that at least here in
Canada this is not necessarily true. When I was recently in Calgary I took
about 6 or 8 Uber trips. The first I requested when I arrived at the airport
and it was to go to Foothills Hospital which is about a 25 to 35 minute ride
depending on traffic. UberX showed the ride was going to be $32, then I
realized Uber is only allowed to come to the departures area and we had already
gone downstairs to arrivals so we ended up taking a taxi just out of
convenience and the taxi ride was $40, a $8 difference. In other words, Uber
would have been 20% cheaper than the taxi and calculating up from the $32 the
taxi was 25% more expensive.
A few days later my wife and I took a ride from our hotel to a nearby mall and
it was $7 with Uber. When we wanted to go back the exact same route a couple of
hours later (now during rush hour) the app said that fares were now higher due
to demand and now the ride was suddenly just over $11. We ended up calling a
taxi and the taxi ride (it was only about a mile and a half) was $6 so in this
case it was a Dollar cheaper to take the taxi even when Uber charged the lower
price and it was almost half of what Ueber wanted durng the busier time.
My last example was for going back to the airport which was super early in the
morning because we had to be there by 5 AM to catch our 6 AM flight. We left
the hotel at 4:30 AM on a Sunday morning and the roads were completely empty
and it only took 25 minutes. Then Uber charged $28 for the same ride that
previously during the day would have been $32, but I am almost sure the taxi
ride at that time of the day would also have been only around $35 or $36 since
taxi metres take both the duration of the trip and the milage into account.
I am not saying Uber isn't a bit cheaper and I totally like using the app and
how fast a car is usually there. I also like the fact I can contact the driver,
that I know in advance how much the trip is and that I can pay for it and
afterwards rate the driver. But if you follow the news a bit and care a bit for
how companies behave and what sort of ethical commitment they have, Uber
definitely needs to get their act together. Some of what makes it so nice like
the upfront price of a ride is actually often bad for the driver as this
article indicates:
http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/uber-drivers-upfront-fares-1.3973342

Lastly, here the link and text of another CBC News article which raises a lot
of issues Uber is going to have to deal with:
http://www.cbc.ca/news/technology/uber-lawsuit-rivals-1.4016725

Uber at crossroads, facing lawsuit, mounting criticism and growing rivals -
Technology & Science - CBC News

Uber was born with brass knuckles. To survive, the ride-hailing company has had
to fight taxi unions and entire governments. That brawling culture turned it
into a global brand worth as much as $69 billion US. But the company has spent
most of 2017 punching itself in the face.
First, a former employee made allegations of widespread sexual harassment and
abusive behaviour at Uber's head office.
Then about 200,000 people deleted the Uber app from their phones, the New York
Times reported, after Uber CEO Travis Kalanick agreed to participate in
President Donald Trump's economic advisory council and was accused of trying to
profit from a New York taxi strike protesting Trump's travel ban.
Recently, Kalanick was caught on camera yelling at an Uber driver who said he'd
lost money working for the company.
The head of Uber's driver experience, Nundu Janakiram, says Kalanick apologized
for his outburst.
"Travis said in his note that it was completely unacceptable the way that he
acted to that driver," Janakiram said at Uber headquarters in San Francisco.
As for the alleged culture of sexual harassment, he said Kalanick will make
sure everyone at the company is treated with respect.
"There's an investigation that's happening internally that will hopefully lead
to some change within the company."
Google alleges a former employee secretly downloaded 14,000 files, resigned,
then launched a self-driving truck startup called Otto, which was later
acquired by Uber. (Kim Brunhuber/CBC)
Then it was revealed Uber had designed an elaborate tool called Greyball to
identify regulators and funnel them onto a fake version of the app which
displays ghost cars that would never actually show up. On Wednesday, the
company announced it would end that program.
Even one of Uber's most promising "good news" stories has gone sour.
During the testing of Uber's much-touted self-driving vehicles, the cars ran
six red lights. And despite repeated demands from California's Department of
Motor Vehicles, Uber refused to apply for a $150 permit to test them in the
state. Uber's head of product, Matt Sweeney, said the company will now comply.

I had not opened the favorites folder, so I do not know why it went there. This
still leaves me wondering how to move bookmarks in and out of folders or how to
save a bookmark to a folder where I actually wanted to go.

Re: Working with bookmarks on an iPhone

2017-03-18 Thread Mary Otten
Hi richard,
I knew I was forgetting something. In my original note, I erroneously said that
I was able to add a bookmark from with in the bookmarks list. But of course,
you're right, it's in shared. So once I open up the share and hit the bookmark
choice, then I close out of Safari and come back in and open bookmarks, I still
can't find the bookmark I supposedly added. And no, I wasn't talking about app
folders, I was talking about folders that appear within the bookmarks list
those folders appear because they exist on the Mac. But I still don't know what
happened to the original bookmark that was saved in the share choice. I hope
that makes more sense, and sorry for the original erroneous information.

Re: Working with bookmarks on an iPhone

2017-03-18 Thread Richard Turner
Apple, in their infinite wisdom set it up so if you want to bookmark a page in
Safari, you open the share tab at the bottom of the screen, not the bookmarks
tab.
Then you can add it to various lists, or your home screen, then move that icon
into a folder, if you are talking about app folders.
I guess Apple takes the approach that if you want to bookmark a page, you are
sharing it with yourself.
Anyway, once you add it to your bookmarks, favorites, etc: then you open the
bookmarks tab to find it again. Unless of course you saved it to your home
screen.

Richard

Working with bookmarks on an iPhone

2017-03-18 Thread Mary Otten
Hi all,
I have bookmarks which sent over from my Mac to my iPhone. I have never really
done much with them, until today, when I decided to see what, if anything, I
could do. The interest is sparked by the fact that I often come across pages I
like, lots of recipes among other things, and you can't keep just letting your
list of tabs in your device grow and grow. So a couple of questions. I try to
add a bookmark today and apparently did so. I was on the page, opened the
bookmarks choice in Safari, add bookmark, and then hit save. Then I hit done
and closed safari out of the app switcher. When I go back into Safari and again
select bookmarks, I'm not seeing my supposedly added bookmark. It's not in the
plane list of bookmarks, nor is it in the folder where I last had something
open. So, what's going on? Also, how can I add a bookmark to a specific folder.
It seems that once a folder is open, all you can do is view what's in there,
not actually add your current page to the open folder. So, is it the case that
in order to actually add it to your bookmarks collection, you must do it on the
Mac? Or is there something usable for those of us who prefer to browse using
the iPhone?
Mary

Re: Putting music on an iPhone

2017-03-18 Thread Kelly Pierce
As Sieghard said, when itunes is open press alt F to open the file
menu, cursor down to add folder to library or add file to library then
pres enter. a dialog box appears where the user needs to browse to
the file or folder and select it. for most people, albums are in
folders and individual audio tracks are single files. Have the folks
having problems tried these basic steps?

Once added to the library, the audio files will synchronize to the
iPhone when it is connected to the computer and iTunes is open. What
in the hell is there not to understand?

Spotify allows for people to create custom playlists and then share
these playlists. A user cannot create a playlist of individual tracks
in Pandora and then play these tracks. both are great music radio
like apps though. the paid versions remove the commercials.

Bluetooth headset

2017-03-18 Thread michaelmaslo04

Best regards,
Sieghard

Considering how many people dislike iTunes I am surprised this application
has not been praised as the reinvention of the wheel with Podcasts about it
and so on. Before I plunk down $40 (I assume that is US Dollars) or $60
which is the offer if you want free lifetime upgrades I'd really like to
hear a Podcast done about it. I have tried too many of these all with
limitations or accessibility issues.

Hey all,

We still have a few spots left for our inaugural Yahoo Fantasy Baseball league.
It is completely free and one hundred percent accessible. There is a little
learning curve to understanding the layout of the app, but Yahoo really has
done a tremendous job making everything accessible and improving the app for VO

Yes, an Airport Express is an Airplay device and it has a 3.5mm audio out jack
which you could connect to your receiver. I use one connected to one of my
Sonos players so I can Airplay to my Sonos system.

Has anyone found out a solution for this problem?
In order to play iTunes music from my PC I need to have the TV on while using
the Apple TV 4, since they removed the audio out jack on that device. I know
there are products out there that can accomplish this. I want to be able to
use my PC for audio transmission to my Onkyo receiver. Are there any adaptors
that will allow this. I tried to use Audio Tracker, but it created it’s own
WIFI which my computer wouldn’t recognize. If I play from the iPhone it would
work but I don’t want to do that. Also the WIFI it created only had about a 30
foot range. Would Airport Express take care of this problem or some other
wireless adaptor? Thanks for any suggestions.

Re: Smarter coffee

2017-03-18 Thread 'Richard Claridge' via VIPhone
Hi.
No I never got a reply, but I took the plunge and bought it anyway.
It's absolutely fantastic. The app works great, with only one minor problem.
It's a bit hit and miss when you want to select how many cups you want it to
make. For me this isn't a problem as I just make a full pot every time it may
be a problem for people who just want one every now and then. It does work,
just not always exactly how you want it.
Other than that it's brilliant. And I never tried to ask them to make that bit
a little more accessible, but when I have called them or email them about other
things and with questions they have been fantastic with the responses. So they
may actually be able to help by making the app slightly better.
One of the best things I've bought in awhile.

I'll do that. Can't remember where I heard you can't use the iPhone controller
with these splitters, but I remember it was on an article I was reading
comparing a few splitters that had a lightning port and a 3.5 mm headphone
port. Thanks for letting me know that the headphone controller works with the

Sharing files from dropbox and voice dream reader

2017-03-18 Thread Deidre Muccio
Hello all,
After listening to an audio file in dropbox via via VDR, I hit on actions. It
gave me the option of sharing to Facebook which I hit on. It posted my comment
but the audio file never showed up in Facebook. Is there a setting that needs
to be switched on in order for the audio file to actually be shared?

Sorry, but here in Ohio, the only options for UBER is UberX and XL.
Never heard of this assist. They don't even offer black or that other option

Folks, the Uber team were clear about how they monitor communication between
drivers and clients because it is within the Uber App.
If you are refused with a service animal it will only be after you have
confirmation of the ride along with the driver's name, car type and license
plate number.
Uber operates under the same laws as any other drivers for hire including
taxis,
therefore, face the same consequences if refusing those of us with service
dogs.
Selecting Uber Assist will increase the likelihood of getting a more
experienced driver that may be more familiar with disabled clients.
Uber Assist is the same pricing as Uber X and the wait time is usually
inside 10 minutes.

It is the expectation and goal of Uber to make their service available to
all clients, understanding that 100% compliance is what they are striving
for.
Just like any other service that we use when accompanied by our guide Dogs,
it may well be an opportunity for us to educate.

I have been denied 4 different times from drivers.
One of them absolutely yelled her head off at me stating I didn't give her a
heads up, then insisted I bring loads of blankets to cover her intire car
even though the dog was on the floor.
UBER will just talk to the drivers, but I have found out earlier this week
that UBER technically can't do anything to the drivers though UBER will say
they can disallow them from using the platform.
UBER has contacted me when I report it within 24-48 hours, but again, all
they will tell you is that they will talk to the driver.
If the driver charges you a cancelation fee, you will get a credit for that
fee towards your next ride.

Hi Mike,

I find it easier and more intuitive to use the File menu in iTunes and then
select the Add File or Add Folder option to add music.
Normally all your music is in c\users\mike\music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Music.
I used your name as an example, not sure how you have your Windows set up,
but I assume you get what I mean.
Of course your music could be anywhere and it could even be on an external
hard drive or network attached drive, it could be in multiple folders in
which case you have to add each folder. I find it is easiest if it is at
least all in one folder.
You don't really have to worry too much abut having subfolders for genres,
artists and so on, iTunes does not use such a folder structure, it uses the
ID3 tags from each song file to sort it. This of course means that if you
have ripped your music using an application which did not properly look up
and tag your songs that this will be a problem. Anyways, I assume your music
is tagged and that it is in the folder I used in my example above, so h ere
is what you do (it is super simple):

1. Open iTunes
2. Go to File and arrow down to "Add Folder to Library 3. A standard Open
dialogue appears, just browse to your folder and once it is highlighted tab
to "Selecte" and activate it.
That's it, depending on how much music you have in that folder you should
hear a triple tone anywhere after a second or two and maybe 8 or 10 seconds
if your collection is quite large.
As long as all the files in your music folder are MP3 or M4A which is the
iTunes compressed file format, they will all get added to your library.
As Robert explained, the shortcut for the music library is Control+1 and if
you tab a bunch of times you should find a list of all your music. There are
other settings to make browsing your music easier, but I don't have time to
get into those. If you like email me privately at siegh...@live.ca, I'd be
happy to setup a time on the weekend for a call and show you a bit how you
can get the most out of iTunes, it really is not so bad as many make it out
to be.

Sieghard

Hi. Yes this is Morgantown West Virginia and we don't have a great public
transportation system which is why Uber is so popular here. Thanks.

Hey guys,

I am about to start using Uber. Question, how have you found a lot of
the drivers with guide dogs? I figured most of them are probably pretty good
but wanted to ask. How do you guys usually handle it?

Hi Max. There are no real differences between Spotify and Pandora, they both
let you make or listen to premade music. iHeartRadio also does this but it also
lets you listen to radio stations from anywhere in the US. Hope that helps.

Re: any good lightning head set recommendation

2017-03-18 Thread Gadget Girl
Hi. I have the Belkin Rockstar splitter, which can be found at the Apple store
and Best Buy for $39.99. I use it with my iPhone 7 Plus. It has a lightning
end on a cord which protrudes a few inches from a flattened rectangle. In the
flattened rectangle, there are 2 lightening ports to plug in your Lightning to
USB cord on one side and your Lightning to 3.5 mm headphone/earphone adapter
on the other side. Each side takes either cord so you do not need to worry
about which port takes which cord. I find my wired earphones/headphones work
very well with no features being hindered. The lightning to 3.5 mm
headphone/earphone adapter can also be found at Best Buy or your phone carrier
for $9.99. This is the same headphone /earphone adapter that came with my
iPhone 7 Plus. I picked up a couple to leave on the end of my
headphones/earphones and I keep another plugged into the splitter along with my
lightning to USB cord. When I travel and need to use my earphones for privacy,
they are always ready to go with the earphone adapter already plugged in. Hope
this helps.
