Oh, man. I don't know anything about these things, but I'd still be a
bit uneasy about it. Hmmm.

At the same time, a visiting friend, with an identical device, did same,
using same water source.

2.
Upon powering up Apple watch, speaker sound was muffled on my device but not
on friend's device. Attempted to clear water from speaker using Water lock
feature, no fewer than 15 times. No success.

3.
Rebooted my device several times but speaker remained muffled.

4.
Went to Apple Store Genius Barr where they heard muffled sound as compared
to friend's device, with regard to VoiceOver. They, like I, checked every
conceivable setting on the device and all was as it should have been.

5.
Because I have Apple Care Plus on my Watch, for faster service, used onboard
Apple Support app to begin replacement process, said process having Apple
ship me a new device, overnight delivery, via FedEx. I began this process
while at the genius Barr, using my beloved iPhone 8 Plus.

6.
In order to begin the replacement process, I had to unpair my watch from my
phone; then, the Apple tech could set up the shipping details and create the
RMA log.

7.
The final step in the process was to authorize Apple to put a hold on my
credit card before they ship the new watch. Then, if I do not return the
old watch after having received the new one, they can charge me for the new
watch. I have 3 days to complete the final step in the replacement process.
I decided to wait until I returned home before providing my payment info as
I was not certain if they would accept Apple Pay or if I would have to enter
my card info, directly. The people at the Genious Barr could not give me a
definitive answer so I decided to wait until I was in a more secure and
quiet location before proceeding.

8.
On the way home, in the car, I decided to pair my current device back to my
phone so that I could continue to use it, muffled as it was, while I waited
for the new watch to arrive.

9.
During the pairing process, the sound quality switched from muffled to
normal. I heard it happen as I had VoiceOver enabled during the process.
It was weird, to be totally honest. The sound simply returned to normal. I
mean it was flawless. Mind you, the time between when the Apple genius
heard the sound and the time in which it returned to normal could not have
been longer than 15 minutes. After paring the watch, I ran it through a
battery of sound tests, comparing it with my friend's watch, and they were
virtually identical.

10.
Back at home, I ran both my watch and my friend's watch under some water,
just as I had done, earlier. This time, however, the sound on both watches
was perfect.

11.
Conducted more sound comparison tests and was satisfied that my watch is in
good working order.

12.
Called Apple Care to update them on the status of my watch and the
representative documented the episode, thoroughly and we both agreed to
leave the current RMA in place and allow it to expire on Thursday. This
means that should I authorize Apple to place a hold on my card, then a new
replacement watch will be overnighted to me; otherwise this particular RMA
will expire. By the way, the process does accept payment via Apple Pay.

Finally, as I stated at the outset, I have absolutely no idea why un-pairing
and then, subsequently, re-pairing the watch to the phone should have made
any difference in sound quality whatsoever, but, today, for whatever reason,
it did.

Sounds like your smtp server does not allow sending messages from outside their

explain your issue.

You could ask your e-mail provider if they offer what is known as an
authenticated smtp service. If not you can buy this service at a relatively
low cost. You then use the server and enter its credentials and you can send
e-mail from wherever you like no matter what network you are connected to.

Here in the UK EE my internet service provider does not offer an e-mail
service. I have an imap service with a company called names.com. I also have
authenticated smtp from them so I can send and receive e-mail without
difficulties.

Hope that makes sense.

Here's an option that might work for you. With my iPhone 8 and my Verizon
carrier If I have Siri call my own phone number, my voice mail comes up. I
enter my password for my voice mail and when I begin to listen to the voice
mail I want, I just move my phone away from my ear as normal and it goes to
speaker mode. Good luck.

Carolyn:

When you hear the alert that there is a notification, just swipe right
until you hear voice over tell you what it is.

Also, you can ask Siri if you have any reminders and she will give you a
list of what you have.

Other than that, I don't know what to tell you.

Anna, interesting that you and Kay can flick down toward the bottom of the
screen. I have to flick up after making certain the rotor is on messages. I
would love to be able to flick down. Is there a setting I could change to make
it so? Thanks.

Hi Kay,

What's happening is that the rotor is switching from Messages to Actions. You
can turn it back to Messages and then flick down. Also, if you flick down to
the next message and then flick down with two fingers to have it read, the
rotor stays on Messages, so you can flick down to the next one without changing
the rotor. If you flick right while reading a message, the rotor switches to
Actions.

Re: I configured the email account I was having trouble with as i map. Here is what I can do with it.

2019-09-02 Thread Malcolm Parfitt
Hello,

Sounds like your smtp server does not allow sending messages from outside their
network. As your phone is sending when connected to another network this would
explain your issue.

2019-09-02 Thread Kevin Minor

Hi.

I just configured the email account on my iPhone that I wanted to use to send
and receive email messages as i map. I want to thank the person who reminded me
about relaying, and how some ISP providers prevent that from being done. I
think I now understand why it works on my PC and not my iPhone. I have Spectrum
Internet on the PC, and I've never had problems sending and receiving email
from it. My iPhone, however, gets its service from AtandT wireless, so it's a
completely different provider, and their rules are probably different. I can
receive messages from that account, but I can't send any. This is fine, but if
I can't send from it, I can either call AtandT to see if there is a solution,
or I'll need to let the iPhone native mail app know to use my exchange account
as the one to send replies, and not the i map one. Oh well, that's how it goes
sometimesddH a blessed day and don't work too hhardddKevin and Jilly

2019-09-02 Thread Carolyn Arnold
OK, thanks. Mine on the 4
S used to be read when announced, not always wanted, but still worth the
convenience.

Best regards,

Carolyn

Carolyn:

When you hear the alert that there is a notification, just swipe right until
you hear voice over tell you what it is.

Also, you can ask Siri if you have any reminders and she will give you a list
of what you have.

Other than that, I don't know what to tell you.

i'm not familiar with that app. Are you using it to maintain a web site, or
several?
I use FTP Client Pro.

Any work arounds with the IFTP app on iOS? It only says button button button,
thus I can’t find a way to delete or modify some of the IFTPs I’ve got running!
Any suggestions, or what’s the process to get into my IFTPs as was able to
before, to modify or delete? Or maybe a website where I could perform these
tasks while the app is made accessible again?
