Hi Lynn,

First, I would restart the watch to see if that fixes it. If that doesn't work,
hold down both buttons for about 10 seconds to force a reset. I don't know how
to change the pitch of the voice, since there doesn't seem to be a setting for
that, but you can adjust the speed by opening the Watch app on your phone and
choosing Accessibility, then VoiceOver, and adjusting the speaking rate.

RE: iOS App of the Month: Buddy, Simple Help

2019-12-22 Thread Alan Lemly
Mark,

I'm glad Buddy is working for you. I get most of what you described from my
accessible credit card app where due to the rewards paid by the credit card, I
charge the lion's share of my purchases. The app attempts to assign grouping
categories based on the payee for purposes of providing an overview of your
spending. Anyway, I prefer to do the majority of my financial analysis using
Money Talks on the computer where I can both write checks and import the credit
card transaction file easily for purposes of assigning categories.

It is so nice to have accessible options.

Subject: iOS App of the Month: Buddy, Simple Help

Hello All,

I do not know if the app, described in this article, is VoiceOver accessible
but I post here for your consideration.

Mark

iOS App of the Month: Buddy
by Simple Help

The first iOS App of the Month goes to Buddy - an expense tracking finance app.
As described by the developer:
Buddy helps you set up a budget and keep track of your expenses. We'll give you
a beautiful & detailed overview of your spendings, income, and savings.
Buddy is free with a paid subscription model if you want to use the "pro"
features. In my case, none of the pro features are ones that I'm interested in
using - so the functionality I discuss here is part of the free version.

I was looking for a "finance app" with a few features in mind. Specifically, I
want to keep track of how much I'm putting on my credit card every month and
have a better understanding of where my money is going. So very important
features for me are:

1. The ability to quickly add a purchase/expense to the app. I don't
want to have to open an App and navigate through 3 pages of options and tap two
dozen buttons to add each transaction.

2. The ability to either leave a short note or add the purchase to a
'category' so I can monitor what I'm spending my money on.

3. An easy to use interface where I can quickly find the information
I'm looking for, which is typically the total amount I've spent and where I
spent it.
Buddy accomplishes those things in spades.

It's so easy to add a purchase to the App that I can usually have it done
before I leave the store, often before I've been handed the receipt. All you
have to do is open the app, click a large and obvious "plus sign" button ( +
) and then enter the amount you spent, assign the transaction a category
(groceries, restaurant, entertainment etc). It takes about 15 seconds in total.

At a glance I can determine how much I've spent in any given day/week/month,
and where that money went. I went through half a dozen finance apps before I
settled on Buddy, so I can say with a high degree of confidence that if you're
looking for an expense tracker, this is where you should start.

What you are describing Carolyn, is what happens when the rotor defaults to
actions and you flick up or down.
You have to turn the rotor with two fingers like you are turning a dial, until
as Mr. Ed said, it says speaking rate, then without touching somewhere else,
flick up or down to adjust the speaking rate.

iOS App of the Month: Buddy, Simple Help

2019-12-22 Thread M. Taylor
Hello All,

I do not know if the app, described in this article, is VoiceOver accessible
but I post here for your consideration.

Mark

iOS App of the Month: Buddy
by Simple Help

The first iOS App of the Month goes to Buddy - an expense tracking finance
app.
As described by the developer:
Buddy helps you set up a budget and keep track of your expenses. We'll give
you a beautiful & detailed overview of your spendings, income, and savings.
Buddy is free with a paid subscription model if you want to use the "pro"
features. In my case, none of the pro features are ones that I'm interested
in using - so the functionality I discuss here is part of the free version.

I was looking for a "finance app" with a few features in mind. Specifically,
I want to keep track of how much I'm putting on my credit card every month
and have a better understanding of where my money is going. So very
important features for me are:

1. The ability to quickly add a purchase/expense to the app. I don't
want to have to open an App and navigate through 3 pages of options and tap
two dozen buttons to add each transaction.

It takes about 15 seconds in
total.

At a glance I can determine how much I've spent in any given day/week/month,
and where that money went. I went through half a dozen finance apps before I
settled on Buddy, so I can say with a high degree of confidence that if
you're looking for an expense tracker, this is where you should start.

Re: Speaking rate and Rotor.

2019-12-22 Thread Richard Turner
What you are describing Carolyn, is what happens when the rotor defaults to
actions and you flick up or down.
You have to turn the rotor with two fingers like you are turning a dial, until
as Mr. Ed said, it says speaking rate, then without touching somewhere else,
flick up or down to adjust the speaking rate.

Wireless charger for my Apple AirPods Pro

2019-12-22 Thread Anthony Vece
Hi everyone;
I need to find a wireless charging pad for my AirPods Pro. There’s no way that
we could know if the case is being charged wirelessly or not.
Is there a charger that has an area small enough that will accommodate that
case so that no matter where we put it on the charger the case will charge.
I hope I’m making some sense.
Merry Christmas

Help Facebook

2019-12-22 Thread regina alvarado
Hi, a friend is a prolific FB user. All of a sudden she got a message stating
that suspicious things were noted on her account. I assume she was hacked. Is
there anything she can do to save her account? We went in and changed password.
However, now she is locked out until later tonight. I told her to wait and try
the new password, but I am really frustrated because I just don't know what to
tell her, and she thinks I am a computer whiz, not!
