RE: Outlook and IOS Calendar synchronisation.

2020-08-01 Thread Simon A Fogarty
Hi Malcolm,

Unless your friend can access a calendar service using a username / password
log in,
Then the calendar wont have a cloud based service to sync from.

If the mail account is based in an exchange server bloud or on prem for a
business then the mail calendar and anything else is the account will be able
to sync to the iphone

I fully understand that IMAP does not have a calendar facility.

If I can get Outlook to work with his iCloud calendar perhaps at least in the
future events will be synchronised.

I know the Calendar app in Windows10 will work with iCloud but Outlook's
calendar is much more friendly.

I must admit all my calendar activity is done on my iPhone so I've not really
explored working with it and Windows.

So there is a good reason why the calendars wont sync, IMAP mail protocol
doesn't include a calendar feature,

So your friends calendar is a stand alone calendar.

I've not tried it,

But your friend could try saving the calendars in to a file of a format that
would work with the calendar app in Ios And then see if it can be imported into
the phones calendar application.
This however will not allow future events in the main calendar to be
syncronised.

Good luck and I hope you can sort something out.

The e-mail accounts are IMAP provided by his ISP.

The calendar is stored in his personal folder under the Outlook application.

Hello friends.

A friend of mine has just got his first iPhone.

As I don’t use Outlook’s Callander I am not in a position to help him.

He is using the Outlook application that’s part of Microsoft Office as supposed
to an outlook.com account.

He has entries in his Outlook Callander that are in his Personal Folder.

He would like to synchronise these entries with his new iPhone.

I have attempted to synchronise via ITunes and I have installed ICloud for
Windows and selected synchronisation preferences there too.

However, none of his Outlook Callander entries have been transferred over to
his iPhone.

Any suggestions welcome.

Deleting Mail

2020-08-01 Thread Shirley Baker
Some of you had mentioned that once you delete a message, it takes you back to
the beginning of your in-box. I never noticed this until I wore wireless ear
buds today. I don't usually wear them because I don't normally like something
inside my ears. If I don't wear the ear buds, then I don't experience this. It
just takes me to the next unread message so I won't wear them reading mail any
longer.

Hi folks,

I think I know the answer to this, and that it is no. But is there a way in iOS
to get a braille display to auto-advance at a certain pace when reading
documents so hitting that panning key constantly isn't necessary? I think this
is the only thing I really don't like about iOS and braille, but maybe I'm
wrong and I just don't know the proper command?

If it doesn't exist, how would we go about suggesting it to the right people?

Thanks,

RE: What do I do to add to Favorites, please?

It makes sense - problem: WhatsApp comes up with call. So, it's not going to
Favorites. I'm going to see if it is in WhatsApp and try to delete it from
there. Still, I don't know what to do. I deleted the contact completely and
reconstructed it; still, I get call WhatsApp.

Thanks.

menu, if you will, it will say message call… You will tap on which ever one
you want to add into favorites and, I just tested this out, and it will work,

Question about playlists

2020-08-01 Thread Karen Poulakos
I was playing around with creating a playlist in the music app, for the
first time. I got several songs moved to the playlist, and thought I

playlist. I can't seem to figure out how to change the title.

Also, once the playlist is created, how can I add additional songs to it?

Thanks.

RE: I want to share a weird experience in pairing new bt devices on an iphone

2020-08-01 Thread Richard Turner
Yes, others have mentioned this where they had to remove other paired Bluetooth
devices before being able to pair a new one, then the others could pair again.

Please report your findings to Apple.
I would suggest sending your note to
accessibil...@apple.com and do the feedback
form at www.apple.com/feedback as I do not
believe this to be specifically a VoiceOver issue since VoiceOver is not
involved in standard bleutooth device pairing.
But, it wouldn’t hurt to cover both basis just in case.

Subject: I want to share a weird experience in pairing new bt devices on an
iphone

Hi folks

A friend of mine gave me an advice to buy the Novodio Travel AZERTY keyboard
this keyboard is made especially for France or Belgium. And so I did but I
couldn’t pair the device whatever I tried. Reset the keyboard, reset network
settings on my phone...

Then I decided to giva it a shot on my old 5s and guess what, it paired
immediately without any problem.

Then, I decided to delete all my bt devices on my iphone XR manually. There was
a weird problem. I have a brailnote touch which I even could not delete the
button to do so was greyed. So I decide to pair that device and after
sucesfsful pairing I could delete it from my phone and now guess what, after
turning bt off and on my Novodio keyboard was recognised immediately and I
could simply pair the device which is now working properly for typing into my
iphone.
Any ideas what kwirk this is?

the keyboard is a nice foldable onwe which is very small to even take into your
pocket or jacket when folded.

RE: Outlook and IOS Calendar synchronisation.

2020-08-01 Thread Malcolm Parfitt

Subject: Outlook and IOS Callander synchronisation.

RE: Outlook and IOS Calendar synchronisation.

2020-08-01 Thread Simon A Fogarty
So there is a good reason why the calendars wont sync,
IMAP mail protocol doesn't include a calendar feature,

So your friends calendar is a stand alone calendar.

I've not tried it,

But your friend could try saving the calendars in to a file of a format that
would work with the calendar app in Ios
And then see if it can be imported into the phones calendar application.
This however will not allow future events in the main calendar to be
syncronised.

Good luck and I hope you can sort something out.

Hello Jenn,

I hope I find you well!

I was hoping not to have to install Outlook for IOS given there are perfectly
accessible mail and calendar apps already on the iPhone.

Hi Malcolm,
He may have to install the Outlook app and put his email in there and password
of course. Then, it should sync.

I just tried it.
