RE: iOS 13.7 and exposure notifications

2020-09-02 Thread chaltain
I agree with Richard. The rest of us shouldn’t be punished because of those who
don’t do their own reading and investigation and who just listen to
unsubstantiated conspiracy theories. Note those are my words and not Richard’s.

Truly indeed, but that isn’t the fault of an app or a feature.

I’ll stop there so as not to anger the list.

It will only cause panic if people do not read and think it through.

It is clearly intended to be a very useful tool to help keep people safe at a
time when those who should be focused on that are not.

Here is what it actually says about the notifications

Exposure Notifications

Turn on Exposure Notifications

Exposure Notifications are off. If you turn them on, your Public Health
Authority can notify you of possible exposure to COVID-19.

You can turn on Exposure Notifications from your Public Health Authority by
downloading their app in the App Store.

Your iPhone is not collecting or sharing exposure notification data with
anyone. If you turn on Exposure Notifications, information related to your
exposures can only be shared with your permission.

How Exposure Notifications work...

Availability Alerts

Receive a notification if Exposure Notifications are available in your current
region. Your region is determined by your iPhone and does not leave your device.

RE: Airpods pocket?

2020-09-02 Thread chaltain
I put my AirPod Pros in my pockets quite often. I don't leave them there
forever, so there's no danger of sending them through the washing machine, but
if I'm pulling them out while I'm talking to my wife, I'll go ahead and drop
them in my pockets. Using one at a time works just fine.

This message means that the album has been removed from your country's Apple
music store. possibly a dispute between Apple & the singer/group. The album is
possibly still in another country Apple music library, no way to know for sure
or which country still has the album in Apple music library. This sort of thing
also happens in the app store, developers remove their apps from certain
country's app stores, possibly leaving the app in other countries app store.

Puzzling Apple Music Question

2020-09-02 Thread Tom Lange
Hi,
This afternoon I tried to play an album that I’ve had in my Apple Music library
for a long time. Each time I tried to play a track from the album I got an
error message that said:

”This song is not available in your country or region.”

Does anybody have any idea why an entire album would just disappear? Since none
of the tracks would play, I deleted the album from my iCloud library and
searched for it in Apple Music. No go.
Any ideas?

Thanks,
Tom

Re: iOS 13.7 and exposure notifications

2020-09-02 Thread prisci
Hi everyone, hope all of you are well. I updated to the latest software
version. The exposure notification tab is no longer hidden so it’s closer to
the emergency SOS tab on the Settings menu. I tried turning it on, but
apparently, exposure notification is not currently available in my area. So to
my understanding, I guess this means that my phone cannot share any COVID-19
exposure data? I think that it is helpful to have these notifications so that
this way we as blind people are more aware about the risks of exposure. We do
not always know if we are 6 feet apart from another person because it is harder
to tell even if you have a cane on hand. unless you are a very tall person
that requires a 6 foot long white cane.

RE: iOS 13.7 and exposure notifications

2020-09-02 Thread Richard Turner
Truly indeed, but that isn’t the fault of an app or a feature.
I’ll stop there so as not to anger the list.

It will only cause panic if people do not read and think it through.
It is clearly intended to be a very useful tool to help keep people safe at a
time when those who should be focused on that are not.
