RE: Powering off iPhone

2021-11-23 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Wendy, the 6S came out in 2015, when did you buy a 6S to still be under
contract?
And please, don't buy an SE 2020, not because it's a bad phone, it basically is
for the most part an iPhone 11 on the inside and I really like my iPhone 11,
but if you want a small phone then buy a 13 Mini.
It seems you like to keep your phone for a long time and if you buy a 13 Mini
chances are you'll get 5 or maybe 6 years out of it as well.

Awesome! It’s good to know both ways work for the iPhone SE 2020 because I
might consider getting that phone when my contract for the 6S expires. Or maybe
I will keep my 6S a little longer after I’m not sure yet. And you’re right, it
is good to close everything in the app switcher and restart my phone from time
to time. That’s what I do.

And for the SE2020, how would one mower it off? I've never had to do it, but it
wouldn't hurt to know. With the First Generation SE, and those before it, you'd
just hold down the Power/unlock to bring up the "Power Off" or Cancel button.

Re: Westminster Chimes Full updated for iOS15 compatibility.

2021-11-23 Thread Martin Dudley
Hi
I have tried all permutations of settings, the One that seems to be the
problem is the allow in notification centre which does not work, turning
this off the notification is still in notification centre. And therefore
VoiceOver reads the notification out loud
With version 14 and below allow in notification centre could be turned off
and there was no VoiceOver response

Re: Siri not letting you send messages?

2021-11-23 Thread Esther Levegnale
I don't think I would trust buying an iPhone either on the ship or in a foreign
country. I would prefer, as I said in a prior message, to go directly to an
Apple store or the AT store. Thanks for the suggestion, however. I really
appreciate it.

Re: Siri not letting you send messages?

2021-11-23 Thread Esther Levegnale
I would never buy a phone on a cruise ship or anywhere out of this country. I
would, more likely, go to an Apple store and buy one there. I don't think I
would trust any other sources other than Apple. Probably AT would be a good
source as well. I don't know if we still have one at our local mall. I will
have to see. Anyway, take care. Esther

It’s the same with the SE second generation. You just hold down the sleep wake
button until the power off button shows up on the screen then double tap it.

Re: Powering off iPhone

2021-11-23 Thread Vicky Collins
Since the 2020 SE has a home button, Apple indicates that phones with home
buttons hold down the side button to get the power off message, and that was
indeed what I had been doing. However, when I checked just now with my second
generation SE, I was surprised to also be able to hold down the side button and
volume down button or press and quickly release the volume up, volume down, and
then press and hold the side button for a second or two as discussed earlier
for the phones without a home button.

RE: Powering off iPhone

2021-11-23 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Also, on a different note, it isn't really necessary at all to power off your
phone when cleaning the screen.
I usually lock the screen and then wipe it down with a damp cloth and then with
a dry one; there is no danger that anything will happen.

Hi everyone,
Is it normal when the power button doesn’t always work to power off the phone?
Sometimes when I need to wipe down my iPhone and I want to power off my device
first before doing so, I notice when I hold down the power button that I’m not
always given the dialogue with the power off button and cancel button, so I
would have to turn off my phone in the settings.

RE: 2021 Thanksgiving and Black Friday Sale

2021-11-23 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Adding recipes from inside Paprika is the easiest, there is a built-in browser
or maybe it uses Safari or the Safari engine, but if you search a recipe from
within Paprika you just tap the Save button once you find the recipe you want.
It would be nice if there was a Windows version or web version which would make
it easier to copy and paste recipes I already have in Notepad files, then again
I wonder if I would really do it because I can just as easily take my wireless
keyboard to the kitchen, use my Logitech H800 wireless headset and use the text
files when I am cooking.

So from that iOS Paprika app. These are the instructions.
Open Safari if that is where your recipe is then the bottom tab that says share
go there.
Find copy double tap on that.
Then proceed to open the Paprika app. When once you open the app you will
receive a message that says something to the effect of do you wanna copy link
say yes.
Then on the bottom of the Paprika app it will say create recipe double tap on
that
At the top right you will see save recipe.

RE: Powering off iPhone

2021-11-23 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
It's a good idea to clear your app switcher and power off the phone from time
to time, even if all is good maybe doing so once a month certainly isn't going
to hurt.
I assume you power of a second Gen iPhone SE the same way as all the other
newer phones, a simple Google search for "How to shut down iPhone SE 2020"
should give you the info.

And for the SE2020, how would one mower it off? I've never had to do it, but it
wouldn't hurt to know. With the First Generation SE, and those before it, you'd
just hold down the Power/unlock to bring up the "Power Off" or Cancel button.
