Re: Gmail and iOS mail app?

Hi Adam, how does individual going to manage accounts on the Google website,
and turn off 2/3 authentication. If they have the YouTube app installed, and
they're trying to access their email, it should presume them with a code to tap
on. You have to tap on the code in order to get it to work. I hope this answers
your question.

Hi, group.

My brand new QardioArm is showing low battery sign and I would put new battery
in tomorrow.

I am not aware of correct polarity in QardioArm. When I change battery in my
portable radio, I touch the flat part of the battery to the spring and keep the
bumpy part away from it.

I don’t know how to make sure the correct polarity here.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks!

Re: How to prevent Face ID from misfiring?

2022-12-07 Thread Maria Heinrichs

I have an idea. So, if you get a wallet case it's not gonna do that
because the case is like a book 'cause you'd flip open the cover. Or, if
you didn't have a wallet case, if you just had an open case, meaning
it's just on the bottom but the screen is exposed, turn the iPhone face
down, then when it goes off and you walk by it, your face won't appear.
Hope this helps.

Hi Alan,

Thanks for that. I’m familiar with that setting. The thing is, it’s
not that I never want to use Face ID to unlock my phone. It’s that I
don’t always want my phone to unlock when I’m using it. If I can do a
thing without unlocking it, like read the weather warning I’m under
right now, then I see no reason to unlock it. Now, if turning off Face
ID is the only way to stop the iPhone from trying to unlock every time
I wake it, then I mean that’s what I’ll do. I’d just rather not have to.

Hi James,

You should go to Settings, Face ID and Passcode and become familiar
with the various settings found within that screen. At the top is a
heading Use Face ID for and the first item under it is Unlock iPhone.
You might try turning that off to see if you get the desired result.

Hey again, folks. Thanks for the help with my last Face ID
question. Mostly I think it’s just going to be getting used to it.
Speaking of that, I’m wondering if there’s a way I can prevent
Face ID from being the default – right now, the iPhone assumes I
want to unlock my phone when it wakes, which results in Face ID
trying to fire off. So for example, my phone will go off while I’m
busy doing something, so when I’m free I decide to check it out to
see what it said in case, you know, something at work is on fire
and I need to be not doing the thing I’m doing. So I pull up my
notifications, and Face ID fires off. But because I’m not
intending to unlock my phone but only check to see what I missed,
Face ID inevitably fails because I don’t have it in a good
position for it to succeed—why would I if I only want to check my
notifications? Besides waring earbuds or something, which makes no
sense if I’m the only one in the place and so my phone isn’t
disturbing anyone, is there a way I can set my phone to only try
to unlock it with my face when I tell it to? Otherwise, Face ID is
probably going to continue to misfire and end up disabling itself
after 5 failed attempts that I didn’t want to be attempts. Again,
if I’m missing something obvious feel free to whap me upside the
head with it. Thanks for the help!

I thought I read somewhere that you need to change a setting from your gmail

Gmail and iOS mail app?

2022-12-07 Thread Adam Morris

Hi all,
I don't use gmail.
Someone has contacted me saying that they can't receive email using the
default mail app on their iPhone.
They get a prompt from what I understand from gmail asking them to
answer yes that can't be accessed with the mail app.

This has only happened in the last day or so.
I thought I read somewhere that you need to change a setting from your
gmail settings on the web.

If someone could give steps on what to do that would be great.
Sorry for the sketchy information on what is happening.
TIA.

Battery Polarity in QardioArm?

2022-12-07 Thread Fazil M.
Hi, group.

My brand new QardioArm is showing low battery sign and I would put new
battery in tomorrow.

I am not aware of correct polarity in QardioArm. When I change battery in my
portable radio, I touch the flat part of the battery to the spring and keep
the bumpy part away from it.

I don't know how to make sure the correct polarity here.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks!

RE: Is QardioArm Blood Pressure Cuff Unit Supposed to remain Attached?

2022-12-07 Thread Fazil M.
Thanks much, Chris.

Yes the unit has batteries in it but when my sighted friend was trying to pair
the device, he got ‘Low battery’ sign.

I would put new battery in tomorrow.

Do I have to touch the phone to the device in order to pair it?

Thanks!

The wrap always stays connected. In my previous message, please see the part
of how to take Blood Pressure. You use the metal bar and as you push it
forward, a arm cup is made on the underneath.

to the unit. And I honestly do not remember if batteries were included.

But the unit takes 4 triple A batteries.

You might have already answer this question and I must have missed your answer

If so, I am very sorry for that.

Please let me repeat my question;

Is the rectangular unit supposed to remain attached to the wrap permanently or
is it detachable?

Am I supposed to wrap the cuff around my arm with the unit attached to it or
witout the unit?

Thanks again for your reply covering all aspects of the process.

Subject: Re: Is QardioArm Blood Pressure Cuff Unit Supposed to remain Attached?

To open the box, just pull tab out and then the lid of the box lifts up.

You will find the unit wrapped in the cup in the box. I personally keep mine
in the box when not used to help protect it.

Now the unit will automatically turn on and off by itself, so there is no power
button.

When you unwrap the unit, it automatically turns on, and when you wrap it up,
it automatically turns off.

Battery compartment.

If you unwrap the unit by rolling it toward you, so when you are done, the unit
is close to you, and the cup wrap is away from you. Then the battery
compartment is on the right side at the end. You will find an indented button
on the underside of that end. Just press that indented button, and the end
will pop off so you can put in the batteries.

Paring it to your phone.

I actually do not remember the steps, but you first have to install the app and
create an account.

Try unwrapping it with the app open and you might get a pop up that it has been
detected. I do know that paring it is easy.

Taking Blood Pressure.

First, start the app, double tap the menu button at the top, then swipe and
choose Qardio Arm.

Now, to put it on.

Note, if you unwrap it by rolling it toward you, a little down from the top of
the cup on the right side, you will find a hard like plastic thing embedded in
the fabric. Just make sure that this plastic thing faces away from you when
putting it on. Qardio Arm put that there specifically to help us know which
way to put it on.

Now after unrolling it, with the unit close to you, and the wrap away from you,
push the metal bar away from you while pulling the wrap toward you. This will
make a arm cup on the underneath. Once you have it to the size for your arm,
just slide it on and fold the remaining over the bar and fasten with the velcro.

According to Qardio.

Your arm should be at or above heart level, and you should sit for about 10
minutes prior to taking it. This will give you the best and most accurate
results.

When your ready, just double tap the take measurement button in the app and it
will start.

Once done, your Blood Pressure and pulse will be displayed on the screen.
Swipe down to the bottom of the screen and you will find a button. Double tap
it to finish it and save it to your history. Note, in an update of the app,
the button was mislabeled. It says cancel, but as long as it is at the bottom
of the screen then that is the right one.

Hope this helps.

Chris

If it fails to recognize your face after 5 attempts, it requires a passcode to

And if your face isn’t recognized you can still review your lock screen, and it
won’t fire off again unless you slide up from the bottom of the screen. You
don’t need to worry about anything like your data being wiped because it didn’t

But then he won't be able to unlock his phone using Face Id at all.

Even if Face Id recognizes your face it won't take you to the home screen
unless you swipe up from the bottom. I just tried several times both by tapping
my screen (I have tap to wake enabled) as well as using the side button to wake
up my phone.

If I look directly at my locked phone and press the side button I hear the tone
that Face I d has done its thing, but I am still on the lock screen where I can
review all my notifications and only when I swipe up from the bottom am I taken
to the home screen. So yes, the phone has unlocked, but if all you want to do
is review a notification you can do so and then either press the side button to
lock the phone again or leave it to lock automatically.

Hi James,

You should go to Settings, Face ID and Passcode and become familiar with the
various settings found within that screen. At the top is a heading Use Face ID
for and the first item under it is Unlock iPhone. You might try turning that
off to see if you get the desired result.

Hey again, folks. Thanks for the help with my last Face ID question. Mostly I

iPhone assumes I want to unlock my phone when it wakes, which results in Face

doing something, so when I’m free I decide to check it out to see what it said
in case, you know, something at work is on fire and I need to be not doing the

because I’m not intending to unlock my phone but only check to see what I

it to succeed—why would I if I only want to check my notifications? Besides
waring earbuds or something, which makes no sense if I’m the only one in the

Do you keep the "require attention" setting disabled, or did you end up
enabling that? At the moment, I seem to be having more success with that
setting disabled.

Using face ID is something that will take some practice. I have the phone kind
of on my left leg, and kind of turn my head towards the phone and it usually
works. However, I use my Hable bluetooth keyboard most of the time to unlock
my phone with my passcode. I use my face ID for my crecdit card and paypal
apps.

And if your face isn’t recognized you can still review your lock screen, and it
won’t fire off again unless you slide up from the bottom of the screen. You
don’t need to worry about anything like your data being wiped because it didn’t
recognize your face after five or ten attempts.

2022-12-07 Thread James Homuth
Hi Alan,

Thanks for that. I’m familiar with that setting. The thing is, it’s not that I
never want to use Face ID to unlock my phone. It’s that I don’t always want my
phone to unlock when I’m using it. If I can do a thing without unlocking it,
like read the weather warning I’m under right now, then I see no reason to
unlock it. Now, if turning off Face ID is the only way to stop the iPhone from
trying to unlock every time I wake it, then I mean that’s what I’ll do. I’d
just rather not have to.

RE: How to prevent Face ID from misfiring?

2022-12-07 Thread James Homuth
I mean, you can. But every time the phone wakes, Face ID fires. That’s what I
want to turn off if possible – because just because I woke the thing up doesn’t
mean I want to do more than make it repeat itself. If I need to just make sure
I unlock it first, then… I mean… I will, but if I don’t have to, then why?

Hmm this is a good question I wonder if you could use a combination of face id
and pin? Since I have a I phone 8 but am planning to get a I phone 14 prow in
the new year. It would be good if you had a choice of using face id and pin in
combination with one another. From Mich.

Subject: How to prevent Face ID from misfiring?

Hey again, folks. Thanks for the help with my last Face ID question. Mostly I
think it’s just going to be getting used to it. Speaking of that, I’m wondering
if there’s a way I can prevent Face ID from being the default – right now, the
iPhone assumes I want to unlock my phone when it wakes, which results in Face
ID trying to fire off. So for example, my phone will go off while I’m busy
doing something, so when I’m free I decide to check it out to see what it said
in case, you know, something at work is on fire and I need to be not doing the
thing I’m doing. So I pull up my notifications, and Face ID fires off. But
because I’m not intending to unlock my phone but only check to see what I
missed, Face ID inevitably fails because I don’t have it in a good position for
it to succeed—why would I if I only want to check my notifications? Besides
waring earbuds or something, which makes no sense if I’m the only one in the
place and so my phone isn’t disturbing anyone, is there a way I can set my
phone to only try to unlock it with my face when I tell it to? Otherwise, Face
ID is probably going to continue to misfire and end up disabling itself after 5
failed attempts that I didn’t want to be attempts. Again, if I’m missing
something obvious feel free to whap me upside the head with it. Thanks for the
help!

Re: How to prevent Face ID from misfiring?

2022-12-07 Thread Alan Lemly
Hi James, You should go to Settings, Face ID and Passcode and become familiar with the various settings found within that screen. At the top is a heading Use Face ID for and the first item under it is Unlock iPhone. You might try turning that off to see if you get the desired result. Alan Lemly Sent from my iPhoneOn Dec 7, 2022, at 2:02 AM, James Homuth wrote:Hey again, folks. Re: Is QardioArm Blood Pressure Cuff Unit Supposed to remain Attached?

2022-12-07 Thread Chris Chaffin
The wrap always stays connected.  In my previous message, please see the part of how to take Blood Pressure.  You use the metal bar and as you push it forward, a arm cup is made on the underneath.  to the unit.  And I honestly do not remember if batteries were included. But the unit takes 4 triple A batteries.ChrisOn Dec 6, 2022, at 10:06 PM, Fazil M. wrote:
Thank you very much, Chris, for such a detailed reply and I extremely appreciate for that. You might have already answer this question and I must have missed your answer due to my limited and insufficient English. If so, I am very sorry for that. Please let me repeat my question; Is the rectangular unit supposed to remain attached to the wrap permanently or is it detachable?Am I supposed to wrap the cuff around my arm with the unit attached to it or witout the unit? Thanks again for your reply covering all aspects of the process.  From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf Of Chris ChaffinSent: Tuesday, December 06, 2022 6:01 PMTo: viphone@googlegroups.comSubject: Re: Is QardioArm Blood Pressure Cuff Unit Supposed to remain Attached?  To open the box, just pull tab out and then the lid of the box lifts up. You will find the unit wrapped in the cup in the box.  I personally keep mine in the box when not used to help protect it.Now the unit will automatically turn on and off by itself, so there is no power button. When you unwrap the unit, it automatically turns on, and when you wrap it up, it automatically turns off. Battery compartment. If you unwrap the unit by rolling it toward you, so when you are done, the unit is close to you, and the cup wrap is away from you.  Then the battery compartment is on the right side at the end.  You will find an indented button on the underside of that end.  Just press that indented button, and the end will pop off so you can put in the batteries. Paring it to your phone.I actually do not remember the steps, but you first have to install the app and create an account.Try unwrapping it with the app open and you might get a pop up that it has been detected.  I do know that paring it is easy. Taking Blood Pressure.First, start the app, double tap the menu button at the top, then swipe and choose Qardio Arm.Now, to put it on.Note, if you unwrap it by rolling it toward you, a little down from the top of the cup on the right side, you will find a hard like plastic thing embedded in the fabric.  Just make sure that this plastic thing faces away from you when putting it on.  Qardio Arm put that there specifically to help us know which way to put it on. Now after unrolling it, with the unit close to you, and the wrap away from you, push the metal bar away from you while pulling the wrap toward you.  This will make a arm cup on the underneath.  Once you have it to the size for your arm, just slide it on and fold the remaining over the bar and fasten with the velcro. According to Qardio.Your arm should be at or above heart level, and you should sit for about 10 minutes prior to taking it.  This will give you the best and most accurate results. When your ready, just double tap the take measurement button in the app and it will start.Once done, your Blood Pressure and pulse will be displayed on the screen.  Swipe down to the bottom of the screen and you will find a button.  Double tap it to finish it and save it to your history.  Note, in an update of the app, the button was mislabeled.  It says cancel, but as long as it is at the bottom of the screen then that is the right one. Hope this helps. Chris On Dec 6, 2022, at 8:40 PM, Fazil M. wrote: Hi, Group.I have just received my QardioArm unit. The rectangular box is attached and wrapped in Blood Pressure Cuff, is this box supposed to remain attached even when I would wear the cuff?
