Contents Hardly on Youtube?

2023-01-23 Thread Fazil M.
Since upgrade to 16.3, I hardly see any contents on Youtube with left/right
swipe.

I scarcely find one or two headings with explore method but nothing by
swiping.

Am I alone experiencing this?

Thanks!

Re: Reading downloaded audible books when not connected to the internet.

I just tried to listen to an audible book that I had downloaded with
airplane mode turned on, and it worked just fine. Good luck.

 Hi list!
I updated my ipod to IOS 15.7.2 today. After installing this update.
I also updated my apps including the audible app to the latest app
 version.

However, now whenever I try to read a downloaded book when not
connected to the internet, it comes up with the message please
connect to the internet to continue reading.
Does anyone know why this is happening? I have always been able to
read downloaded audible books without being connected to the
internet. This is a real problem, because my ipod is only connected
to wifi when I'm at home.
Is there some sort of setting that I need to change to restore the
ability to read downloaded audible books without being connected to the
 internet?

I have tried clearing the app from the app switcher and also
restarting my phone. I also tried signing out of audible and then
signing in again with no success.
Do I need to delete the app and redownload it? Or is there something
 else that I should do?
If this is some sort of new feature with the latest audible app, is
there a way to return to to the earlier version of audible that does
 not behave in this way?
 Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Unpleasant Click on Youtube?

2023-01-23 Thread Fazil M.
Hi, group.

I am very sorry if I am not using proper terminology to describe my issue.

Today I have upgraded iPhone12 to iOS16.3.

Now when I swipe left or right on Youtube, I hear an unpleasant tuck sound
or click that I do not want to hear because it interferes with my
comprehension of the contents.

How can I get rid off this sound, please?

I am sorry again if I sound vague.

Thanks!

ios 16.3 one moderate bug for brail lines in the notification center

2023-01-23 Thread davycuppens
Hi folks

As Applevis has told and can be confirmed, there is no reason not to update
to ios 16.3, working quite stable. However for legally blind people or even
blind people with hearing aids that fully depend on their brail display, I
would strongly advise not to update at the moment if you frequently use the
notification center.
Whenever you invoke this notification center by gesture or give the
keystroke with a brail display, connection will be immediately lost for most
devices.
If you encounter this bug, please do all report immediately to
accessibil...@apple.com
Regards
Davy

I have no idea why you would be getting that message. I have no problem
reading audible books that I've downloaded to my 13 pro max.
It doesn't matter if I've got my WIFI turned on or off, I have no trouble
reading the books.

Re: Reading downloaded audible books when not connected to the internet.

2023-01-23 Thread Barbara Stahl
Yes as soon as I turn on airplain mode which I often use to save battery life,
Audible comes up with that message and I just double tap okay and can usually
begin listening to my audible books with no problem. However, this is a
different message and it comes up whenever I try to play a downloaded book when
airplain mode is on or I am otherwise disconnected from the internet. It says
connect to the internet in order to continue listening. I double tap okay on
this and it goes back to my library. If I try to play the book again, the same
thing happens.

Hello,

Do any of you use any kind of stand for more accurate scans using, say, the
Seeing AI? I used to have one which was made of cardboard, looked like a thick
manila folder which would unfold to form something like a "tent" with a hole on
the top (center). The print page would then be placed on the bottom and the
phone camera on top, with the camera facing down through the hole. This ensured
an accurate scan every single time. I can't seem to find anything similar on
the web.

Any help?

Thanks,

RE: How to scan QR code

2023-01-23 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Best option is to make sure "Code Scanner" is added to your control panel, you
can check in Settings > Control Panel and if it si not in your list you can add
it.
Then swipe down from the top to bring up Control Centre, tap Code Scanner and
point your rear camera towards the QR code. You typically don't have to be
super close, once the camera sees it it will get recognized, there is nothing
you have to do.

I have no idea why you would be getting that message. I have no problem
reading audible books that I've downloaded to my 13 pro max.
It doesn't matter if I've got my WIFI turned on or off, I have no trouble

2023-01-23 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
I have always received this message when I was offline on my iPhone, e.g. on
long flights etc. All I had to do is tap on OK and then I could play whatever
books I had downloaded.
I just turned on Airplane mode and tried this and all it said when I opened
Audible was "Turn off Airplane mode or turn on Wi-Fi to access data", then
there was an OK button and after I tapped it I was in Audible and could start
my book.
It just tells you that you can't access data since you don't have a connection
to the internet.
Is there an OK button when you get this message and have you tried to tap on it
to see what happens next?
The only differences between what I just tried are that I am using an iPhone
and I am already on iPOS 16.3 which I of course I understand you can't upgrade
to, but I doubt that should matter.

Subject: Reading downloaded audible books when not connected to the internet.

Hi list!
I updated my ipod to IOS 15.7.2 today. After installing this update. I also
updated my apps including the audible app to the latest app version.
However, now whenever I try to read a downloaded book when not connected to the
internet, it comes up with the message please connect to the internet to
continue reading.
Does anyone know why this is happening? I have always been able to read
downloaded audible books without being connected to the internet. This is a
real problem, because my ipod is only connected to wifi when I'm at home.
Is there some sort of setting that I need to change to restore the ability to
read downloaded audible books without being connected to the internet?
I have tried clearing the app from the app switcher and also restarting my
phone. I also tried signing out of audible and then signing in again with no
success.
Do I need to delete the app and redownload it? Or is there something else that
I should do?
If this is some sort of new feature with the latest audible app, is there a way
to return to to the earlier version of audible that does not behave in this way?
Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

The fact that Twitter is used by so many governments and organizations is kind
of irrelevant, unless they’re contributing to Twitter’s bottom line. Elon Musk
isn’t out to make Twitter a public square or a utility; he’s out to make it
profitable and get a return on his investment. If governments and organizations
bring in users which in turn bring in advertisers then this makes sense, but
this hasn’t been the case for the last eight years.

I like Mastodon, but I don’t consider it a Twitter replacement. For me it feels
more like something between Twitter and Facebook. I thin this might be in part
due to the greater character limits on toots. I also find Mastodon to be more
conversational than Twitter or even email, but this may just be the way I use
Twitter. I also like the content warnings in Mastodon. It makes it easier to
avoid inflammatory toots and gives me a chance to warn people about something I
might be tooting. What I like most about Mastodon though, and the absolute #1
reason I’m more active on Mastodon then I’ve been on either Facebook or Twitter
is the plethora of accessible clients. I guess I have a pretty low bar when it
comes to how much inconvenience I’ll put up with to participate in social
media, and I find Mastodon clients set that bar lower than the alternatives.
