Haptics.  You will want to turn off sounds from there and you should be good to

years as I usually backed up my device and restored it to the new one. SO now I

 responding.” When this issue occurs, the user's Mac may become unusable 
 for up to several minutes at a time. Sometimes it can be resolved by 
 switching away from Safari. Sometimes restarting VoiceOver can resolve the 
 issue. However, far too often, the user is unable to switch away from 
 Safari or turn VoiceOver off, instead having to simply wait for their Mac 
 to become responsive again.
 This “Safari not responding” behaviour when using VoiceOver dramatically 
 impacts productivity and overall usability of Macs for blind and low 
 vision users. Furthermore, it appears that the issue extends beyond just 
 Safari - many other common applications that utilise Apple's WebKit 
 browser engine can also be affected by the “not responding” problem.
 It is also important to point out this issue occurs regardless of the 
 specification level of the Mac - it has been widely experienced on the 
 latest Apple silicon-equipped Macs with 16GB or more of RAM, so even 
 owners of top-tier new Mac hardware still face this crippling VoiceOver 
 bug.
 This critical problem has persisted for years across multiple MacOS 
 versions without a permanent fix from Apple. Given the longevity and level

Hi Richard,
I'm going to scan those letters, and I will scan  them in text so I can send 
them to my Computer so I can read them myself.  I will then scan them and save 
in PDF format for sighted people.  I just don't understand why I can read most 
PDF files with Adobe, but not these  letters.  As far as I know these letters 
were just typed on a Computer.  So I don't think there is anything fancy about 
the letters.

I have some letters I want to scan them with VDS on my XR iPhone, and 
send them to my Computer so I will have them to send to some sighted 
people.  I need these letters to look just like the original letters.  
My problem is if I scan them and save them as a text file, and send 
them to my Computer, I can read them, but I’m wondering if the sighted 
people will be able to read them too.  I’ve scanned them and saved 
them as a PDF file, and sent them to my Computer, but I can’t 
understand a word of the PDF.  So can someone please advise me how to 
save these letters so sighted people can read them?

Voice Dream Scanner Question Plese.

Hi Everyone,
I have some letters I want to scan them with VDS on my XR iPhone, and send them 
to my Computer so I will have them to send to some sighted people.  I need

 since the mid 90’s with Windows, but I can’t even imagine what such a bug 
 would do to me now when my retail business runs on a web-based point of 
 fsale and accounting platform and I virtually use Chrome (or sometimes 
 Edge) along with Excel and Outlook literally all day long.
 Of course I don’t claim that Windows 11 with the latest version of a 
 Chromium-based web browser or Firefox and Jaws 2023 and for a while now 
 Jaws 2024 in Beta is perfect, but it’s very rare that Windows, Chrome or 
 Jaws crashes when I use our point of sale, Lightspeed Retail and I often 
 go the entire week without having to reboot my computer. On Saturday 
 evenings we usually turn all the computers at my store off since we are 
 closed Sundays, but once they get turned on Monday morning they stay on 
 until Saturday evening.

 for up to several minutes at a time. Sometimes it can be resolved by 
 switching away from Safari. Sometimes restarting VoiceOver can resolve the 
 issue. However, far too often, the user is unable to switch away from 
 Safari or turn VoiceOver off, instead having to simply wait for their Mac 
 to become responsive again.
 This “Safari not responding” behaviour when using VoiceOver dramatically 
 impacts productivity and overall usability of Macs for blind and low 
 vision users. Furthermore, it appears that the issue extends beyond just 
 Safari - many other common applications that utilise Apple's WebKit 
 browser engine can also be affected by the “not responding” problem.
 It is also important to point out this issue occurs regardless of the 
 specification level of the Mac - it has been widely experienced on the 
 latest Apple silicon-equipped Macs with 16GB or more of RAM, so even 
 owners of top-tier new Mac hardware still face this crippling VoiceOver 
 bug.
 This critical problem has persisted for years across multiple MacOS 
 versions without a permanent fix from Apple. Given the longevity and level 
 of disruption caused by this bug across Safari and other applications, I 
 can unfortunately no longer in good faith recommend Macs to anyone who 
 relies on using VoiceOver. The impact of this bug when performing routine, 
 and often critical, tasks in Safari and other applications simply makes 
 macOS an unreliable and frustrating platform.
 Macs have traditionally been popular within the blind community, and they 
 offer some great accessibility features. However, frankly, Apple should be

I'll take an iPhone 15ProMax too LOL!!  I love my iPhone 14ProMax though, 
so I think I'll work with that for a while.  At least until my device is more 
than 50% paid off and I can do a straight upgrade through Apple.  I love what 
Apple is doing right now.  From here on out I won't be getting my phones 
directly from the carrier but will instead be going through Apple themselves.  
I make out better that way.

I have both a 15 Pro and a 15 Pro Max and so far no activities have caused them 
to get any warmer than prior devices I've owned. I may perceive the warmth it 
exhibits during charging with the 240 watt USB-C cable with Apple's 30 watt 
charger to be slightly more so than other prior devices have exhibited but 
nothing that would cause me to be overly concerned and I am one who literally 
loathes when a device heats up so I would be prone to reacting to such a 
perception or reality.

Just chiming in with my experiences for the sake of sharing I'm not in any way 
seeking to minimize or invalidate the experiences of others merely reporting

I suggest Proton VPN. They have a free version that is just fine for common 
tasks, even video streaming. Their premium version will get you higher speeds, 
but if you only need to do basic think that don't require high bandwidth you'll 
be fine. They have apps for iOs, Android, Windows and Mac.

The service was developped by the creators of Proton Mail, an email service 
designed to keep communication's private. The VPN service respects the same 
privacy standards.

Strange issue with my iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Hello,

I have recently experienced a strange issue with my iPhone 15 Pro Max running 
iOS 17.1 (21B5066a).

I usually put my phone on charge each night.  It is wirelessly charged with an 
Anker 7.5 Watt charger.

In the morning when I unlock my iPhone I am told that my passcode is required 
when my iPhone restarts.  I have not powered the device down.  The battery 
charge level is at 89% when the device is taken off the charger.  It is usually 
on charge for around 7.5 hours a night.

Anyone had similar experience?
