Re: Can I stop VoiceOver from coming through my Bluetooth stereo speakers

2024-04-06 Thread Arnold Schmidt
Try this. Turn on your speaker with nothing playing through it. Then go into
settings, bluetooth, and find your speaker. Do not double tap it, just
one-finger swipe down on it and it should say more info. Double tap this, and
make sure speaker is selected under device type.

Jonathan Mosen's update said this way better than I could and here's the
most meaningful line that resonated with me: “My final thanks go to
everyone who took the time to express their concern. Advocacy is tough

reasonable, legally justifiable positions of being whiny and entitled. This

Absolutely. I cannot agree with him more. We need to stick together on
issues like this and invalidating previous purchases isn't something that
the community should consider to be reasonable, in my opinion.

RE: Blindfold, spider, Solitaire games

2024-04-06 Thread Rob Armstrong
I do not play the Blindfold Solitaire games. But I do play Kings Corner, which
is similar. Occasionally, Kings Corner doesn't function properly. When that
happens, I solve the problem by closing the app, using the app switcher to
remove it from storage, and then open the app again. That solves my problem.

You might try this with Blindfold Solitaire games to see if it works.

As a note, with Kings Corner, I don't even lose my place in the game.

Good afternoon everyone,

I have been a great fan of playing solitaire for years. I’ve had the Blindfold
Solitaire games for quite some time. When I went to play the game today, when I
attempt to move an ace to the foundation, it tells me it can’t be moved. Does
anyone know if there is a solution for this problem? Also, I deleted and
re-downloaded the game and that didn’t help. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

Re: [Voice-Dream] A New Chapter

2024-04-06 Thread Arnold Schmidt
I just got the update and found that message. We probably never will know for sure, but I wonder what really happened. When I listened to the Jonathan Mosen podcast, I interpreted what their spokesman said, in effect, was that this is what we are going to do and if you users don't like it, tough. So, I wonder if they really suddenly decided to care, if Apple told them to care, or Apple would delete it from the app store which would have hurt everybody, or what really happened. Whatever happened, I am glad. It is the right thing for them to do. If they want,  as they call us, legacy subscribers to subscribe, they will have to come up with some signipigant reason for them to subscribe, such as Kindle support, or the one I suggested, let Voicedream be able to import applications, exams, etc,or documents that need an electronic signature,  fill in the answers and return the completed document to the sender. Now, I have to decide whether to keep my subscription. Arnold Schmidt Sent from  Arnold's  iPhone S E 3On Apr 6, 2024, at 3:12 PM, Richard Turner wrote:From the Voice-Dream list.Hi everyone, Following our recent announcement to transition Voice Dream to a subscription, we received an overwhelming response from thousands in our community. Re: Update to Seeing AI now available.

2024-04-06 Thread Malcolm Parfitt
Seeing AI does not describe people in the same level as Be My AI does but it is
still an outstanding app.

In my opinion SuperSense’s document mode is the best at the moment, it guides
you on placing your phone with instructions like: Move forward, back, left,
right, nearer and away so you get the document correctly in the view of the
camera. Not all edges are visible is not all that helpful in placing your
phone correctly.

Yes I know SuperSense is expensive but as I already have a lifetime license it
makes sense to use it. Whether it is worth the money is a matter of opinion.
Many apps now have a similar feature set and all have their strengths. Having
all the free ones gives us choice and that is all to the good.

RE: Update to Seeing AI now available.

2024-04-06 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
The Seeing Ai app continues to add new and useful features and in my opinion is
still one of the best apps for any sort of OCR, currency recognition and so on.
The fact that it is free of course is also a bonus and I only this morning
tried the "Browse Photos" feature and it's much better than what you can do
with Be My AI where at least to my knowledge you have to work from the Photos
app, open each picture, tap share and send it to Be My AI for recognition. In
the Seeing AI app you can give access to your photos library and as you open a
picture you get a brief description, you can then tap on More Info and hear
more. You can even delete pictures from the Seeing AI app although I find you
may have to back out of the Browse Photos feature and go back in before the
picture disappears from the list of pictures. Anyways, very nice and I
definitely plan to try more of the new features like finding items/objects and
also to try the Indoor Navigation feature which allows you to put down
something like bread crumbs which you can then save as a route and follow.

Subject: Update to Seeing AI now available.

Hello,

An update to Seeing AI is available in the App Store, here’s what it says about
the update.

• Find My Things - This new feature, available via the World channel on devices
running iOS 14+, enables you to teach Seeing AI to recognize your personal
objects. Most AI systems focus on large datasets of generic objects, so we
built this system that provides an audio-first experience to teach new objects
yourself. You can then follow the audio cues to locate your things. • Ask
questions about photos (English only) - You can now ask Seeing AI questions
about photos on the Scene channel, in Browse Photos, or those shared from
another app. For example, after hearing the rich description, you may wish to
hear more about a specific aspect of the image. • Rich image descriptions, when
you tap "More Info", have been improved to include even more details.
Additionally, the names of people you have taught Seeing AI to identify are now
included. And, this is now available in all 19 languages in which Seeing AI is
localized. • Handwriting recognition is now also available in Japanese and
Korean. • Document orientation - After scanning a document, you can find out
which way round it is - useful when organizing multiple pages for stapling, for
example. Tap "More", then "Page Info". • Plus, various bug fixes under the hood.

It's free, and yes... there's a setting in which you can set it how long the
pauses should be. Hope this helps some.

So I'm transitioning from Voice Dream Reader to the Dolphin Easy Reader for
Bookshare books, thus these questions for you'll:
1.- so with Voice Dream Reader, one can flick atop the Play/Pause button to
quickly move according to the navigation unit one sets (be time interval,
headings), right? So can one do this with the Dolphin Easy Reader app? And
where would one have to flick up and down to quickly move, for instance, in
a Bookshare book, between headings?
2.-does the Dolphin Easy Reader app play Bookshare's MP3 books? Because
during my browsing of Bookshare within the Dolphin Easy Reader, I came
across several book entries that said "MP3", thus my wondering?.
3.-can one select on the fly, for instance, between Arron and Nicky (both
iOS-native voices? At a glance,I couldn't find such an option.
Thanks for any other tips/tricks you guys can offer about the Dolphin Easy
Reader, and if there's an EMail list devoted to this app,, it'd be awesome
to subscribe!
