RE: an email folder question

2024-04-29 Thread 'Karen Poulakos' via VIPhone
I know, my son and I have had this discussion a few times over the years. The
one time I tried the other way, I found that I was deleting messages on one
device, expecting them to still appear on the other.

My laptop is the main device I use for email. Once I download mail to my
laptop, it is deleted from the server. Occasionally there is something that I
want to have available on my phone, which I will forward to myself. However, I
don't really want to deal with all of the email I receive using my phone.

I realize this doesn't make sense to a lot of people, but it works for me.

Why would you use POP3 if you want to use your email on multiple devices?

Hello,

First hit the back button until you are on the list of folders.
Nw click the edit button in the top right of the screen.
In the toolbar at the bottom there is only one button listed as "New Mailbox.
This will put focus on an edit box for the name of the new mailbox. Below the
edit box is a button to select the location of the new mailbox.

Do I need to allow notifications in order for the reminder for taking his

Also, is there anything I need to do to have the reminder appear on his

Hi Don,

When asking about accessible doorbells, what do you mean by accessible? How
accessible would you like it to be?

I also use the Ring doorbell and I have it integrated with everybody’s iPhone
who lives in the house plus our Echo devices. Any time anyone nears our house
porch we receive announcements that it detected motion. If someone rings the
doorbell we have the option to either pick it up via the Ring app on our
iPhones or the Alexa by simply asking Alexa to answer doorbell. For those who
can see can activate the camera on their phones and see who is at the door.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t identify the person for me yet. I’m hoping that’s
near in the future with the advancement of AI. But for now I love it since we
are notified any time we have a package dropped off and if anyone is home then
we can immediately retrieve it.

I’m not sure how it integrates with the Google Home, but with the Echo devices
you can download, what they call a Skill with the Alexa app and as long as you
have a Ring account establish then you can sign into the Ring Skill and
integrate it with your Echo. It’s pretty awesome!

Hope that helps some!

If you have an iPhone, you can bring up a control experience for your Apple TV
from the phone. Open the Control Center and it should be one of the options.

Hi,
There is an app you can get from the app store, which will allow you to pair
your iPhone and use that as the remote until you receive your replacement.
Try searching, "Apple TV remote."

The remote came with our little Apple TV device. I don't know the model. The
Accessibility rep must have had the information from when it was purchased,

The buttons that don't work are the left and right arrows, and the Select

Hi all,

I have a strange problem with the voice over volume while talking on the phone.
When using the phone if I need to dial in numbers I can barely hear voiceover
at all. Yes, I have made sure that the voiceover volume on the rotor is at 100
percent and it is still low. the voices on the phone are much louder than
Voiceover. This doesn't happen anywhere else but on the phone. Otherwise, the
volumes are all fine. Anything else I should be looking at? Thanks much for
any ideas.

I just opened the books app, and found a book I had downloaded. I found chapter
1 after opening the menu and tapping around. Once I touched in the text and
flicked down with two fingers, it read and flipped pages just fine.
You cannot lock the phone and have it continue reading. If you want to do that,
that is a setting not just about VO. It is under Spoken Content under
accessibility. I'll look it up if you need it.

RE: Reading Books

2023-10-27 Thread 'Karen Poulakos' via VIPhone
Oops! I apologize. I'm using the Books app that came on the phone.

It's probably been a year since I've read a book on my phone, and it may have
been before I received my current phone, which is the latest SE.

Subject: Reading Books

I don't read a lot of books on my pone, but just purchased one, and things
aren't working as I thought they did when I purchased my last book.

On my iPhone Se, with IOS 6.7, I can't seem to figure out how to read
continuously. When I touch the screen, it will read what I think is a
paragraph at a time. Is there a setting I need to change? or, a gesture I
can't seem to figure out?

Any help is appreciated.
