While I appreciate your opinion, I've always preferred the Samantha high quality voice and the default lower quality one doesn't change the issue I posted about. In addition to my original post differences, I'm also noticing that my status bar now pronounces the number of wifi bars as weefee bars when I'm sure it used to say WyFie bars. And my battery charge now says 93 battery power instead of 93 percent battery power as it used to. Rebooting my phone or choosing the default voices doesn't change these new pronunciations and I'm surprised no one else is experiencing them. I updated my iPhone 6 to iOS 9.3.4 last night but I noticed these changes while still running iOS 9.3.3. The first change is minor and concerns how VO speaks the minutes when announcing the time when they are less than 10 after the hour. I feel certain that before a couple of days ago, VO would say the o for zero before announcing the minute. For example if the time were 8:05 a.m., VO would say 8 oh 5 a.m. Now, VO is saying 8 5 a.m. Like I said, no big deal but I'm curious why they would change such a thing and I'm wondering if anyone else noticed it. The other issue is more annoying. When VO is reading my texts and emails I've composed back to me, the pause indicating punctuation such as a period at the end of a sentence seems to have greatly decreased or disappeared altogether. I've had to double check on more than one occasion to ensure that I included a period because VO read my text as if the sentences were typed without one. I've reviewed my VoiceOver settings to make sure nothing has been added to control this and could not find anything. Has anyone else noticed this? I'm using the Samantha high quality voice for VoiceOver if this makes a difference. Thanks in advance for your comments. Re: Question about how to Display a List of Custom Radio Stations in iTunes Radio
Hi, I have been waiting to see if there was an answer to this question but have not seen anything on this thread. I too am wondering if there is a way to display previously-created custom radio stations. Thanks for any help on this. Connie Skeen At 12:28 AM 11/24/2015, you wrote: Hello Everyone, I don't know if I'm in the Twilight Zone but I cannot seem to display a list of my radio stations in iTunes radio either on my iPhone running iOS 9.1 or in iTunes on my Windows PC. Now I haven't attempted to listen to my radio stations in a while but I remember that at some point in the past, I could select My Stations, somewhere on the phone in order to display a list of custom stations. Now, all I can seem to do is to see a short list of recently played stations and I see no way to create a new radio station; this is to say, there does not seem to be a New button anywhere. I do not subscribe to iTunes music. Does anyone know how to bring up a list of all of one's custom created stations? I feel I should know the answer but, I simply do not. While it can never take the place of my beloved iPhone 6 Plus, it is a very, very well-made and classy device. One thing I absolutely adore about all of the Galaxy products, especially on the new S 6, is the number of native RingTones, sounds, and notifications included with the devices. A quick Google search will turn up many sites where the stock RingTones for many popular Android Smartphones have been ripped and placed in a Zip file, ready to be used by anyone. The primary reason why these RingTones are made readily available is so that those who wish to create what are known as custom ROMS can more closely mirror the native manufacturers OS with regard to basic functionality. Okay, okay; too much information, right? The following is text that I posted to an Android list containing the link to the RingTones, sounds and notifications for the S 6 which, you may use on your iOS device. Mark Download The Samsung Galaxy S 6 and 6 Edge Stock RingTones, Sounds, and Notifications For a while now I've been using a text message alert on my iPhone 6 Plus that I ripped from a Galaxy Note 2. There are several ringtones and/or notifications on my Galaxy S 6 that I want to use on my 6 Plus, as well. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that all the hard work had already been done for me as the S 6 and 6 Edge stock sounds are available on The Android Soul.com website. All they ask is that one gives them credit for the Zip file when sharing the link or when using the sounds in a custom ROM. So, for those of you who want to sprinkle a little Galaxy seasoning into your Apple sauce (or anything else for that matter), I offer the following two links: 1. The direct download link to the Zip file containing all of the stock sounds for Samsung Galaxy S 6 and 6 Edge: http://www.theandroidsoul.com/downloads/file/S6Rings.zip 2. The URL to the Android Soul.com site which contains the link listed above: http://www.theandroidsoul.com/download-samsung-galaxy-s6-ringtones-74737/ Please note that all of the files are in their original format said format being .ogg In order to be used in iOS as ringtones or notifications, assuming you do not use iTunes in the conversion process, they will first have to be converted to .m4a and then subsequently renamed to .m4r. RE: Batteries and the StandScan Pro: A Question
Hi, I am also having difficulty with the 9-volt battery pack and believe they should replace it. Would someone please post contact information for the company. I e-mailed them about this problem but didn't receive a response. Thanks much. Connie Skeen At 06:38 AM 10/15/2014, you wrote: The 9 volt battery pack is awful to work with. It is very hard to get the battery set in correctly. If it is defective, they should replace it, but I'd spend the money on the 12 volt battery pack if you want to not have to be near an outlet. If you will mostly be using it near an electrical outlet, I'd go with the AC adapter. This is why I always recommend people go for the Power Bundle directly from standscan.com as you get the 12 volt battery pack and the AC adapter for a very good price. I think the last I checked it was $38.95 or $37.95 for the power bundle. Sadly, it could be that I am simply doing something wrong that is really obvious:)! Whenever I put a 9v battery into the pack, it does not want to close if a battery is inside of it, nor does the battery want to hook into place like it normally would in most devices using this type of battery. The pack closes perfectly if no battery is in side. Also, I noticed the following. If the pack is held up so that the switch is at the top and the opening is facing you, the right side battery connection is loose, is this the case for others here? This one may be defective. If so, I am assuming, that you can purchase just a replacement battery pack, correct? Have a great day all! Chris Christine M. RE: Cases for iPhone 5
Hi Alan, I do want a case that provides good protection but I do also want a screen protector. I also want easy access to headphone jack and other controls. I have an Otterbox Defender case for my iPod Touch and like it a lot but the reviews say there is a problem withthe ear bud jack in the iphone 5 series. I don't plan to use a dock at this point so probably will leave the case on once it is on the phone. Also do not want to hinder the proximity sensor. I don't want much, do I? Anyway, any feedback would be much appreciated. Connie Skeen At 02:23 PM 5/25/2013, you wrote: Connie, you don't say what the primary features are that you require in a case. I chose the TECH 21 D30 Impact Shell Snap On Skin Case Cover for Apple iPhone 5 - Clear based on a recommendation from someone else on this list back in January. My main requirement was a case that would give good protection without adding bulk. The Tech21 does that but you should also get a film screen cover to place over the screen since the case does not provide screen protection. The case does come with a high tech material called D30 which remains pliable until absorbing an impact at which time it stiffens to provide the needed protection. Also, the lip on the case is raised enough so that if you dropped it flat with the screen down, the edge of the case instead of the screen will absorb the impact. Amazon sells this case for $39.99 with free shipping and you can read about it at this link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009N8VX1A/ref=oh_details_o08_s00_i00?ie=UT F8psc=1 When I was at the Apple Store on another matter, the person helping me said the Tech21 was one of their highest recommendations.
