RE: Prepaid carriers

2023-08-30 Thread sandrastreeter381
I just joined PureTalk about 2 months ago. Generally, very satisfied; am paying
off an iPhone SE 3rd Gen., and my payments are still $7.00 cheaper than they
had been with AT The only disappointment was that they weren't willing to
take my 8 for trade-in, because the port door for the charger had been cracked
by a fall; I have it taped together and it's perfectly functional, but no dice.
So, I'm now looking for a buyer, but that's for another time. Anyway, so far, a
very satisfied PureTalk customer--the CS reps really work with you, and I love
my pretty new phone.

HTH!

For what it's worth, I find the Libby app easier to navigate than the Overdrive
app. The audiobooks can be played at 3X speed instead of the 2X in Overdrive
which is a plus as well.
All the whish list and holds stuff is tied to your library account not to the
app. So when you log into Libby or CloudLibrary for that matter, your lists
will appear there as well.

are the same. But the 8 plus is 6.24 inches tall and 3.07 inches wide. All the

I know Otterbox cases, so if yours is 7 by 4, in the case; that is probably the

I doubt the Otterbox would add an inch and a half to the height and width of

But, if the 8 is working fine, and you don’t use it much, what is driving the

The 13 mini does not have a home button, while the SE 2022 or 3rd edition, has

did look up the current SE, and it seemed only slightly larger, unless the data
read wrong in JAWS. As with the larger models, AT guys does have Braille
overlays for the smaller ones. Finally, I like that it—the 13, I guess-- would
take up much less space.

The SE is the same size as your 8.

But, if the 8 is working fine, and you don’t use it much, what is driving the
idea of trading it in?

The 13 mini does not have a home button, while the SE 2022 or 3rd edition, has
the home button.

If you google something like Specs for iPhone 13 mini, then specs for the
iPhone SE 2022, you could likely find more than you want to know.

Hey, all:

Currently have an iPhone 8, probably 3 years old, barely used. Having read a
few things about the iPhone 13 Mini and the current SE, I am considering
trading this in for one of those. If anyone has any advice, specs, etc., on the
two units I’m considering, please send to the list. Being a small-handed person
who doesn’t like much space taken up in a purse, I think this could serve me
better, depending on if I can get my current one traded in at reasonable cost.
Any feedback, appreciated.

Thx in advance.

As I said, for a smaller-handed person like me, the 13 Mini looks
promising—something like 4x2, as opposed to the 8 being something like 7x4. I
did look up the current SE, and it seemed only slightly larger, unless the data

Given what you just said about the SE being similar in size to the 8, which I
currently have, though, it may become a moot issue. For the sake of advocacy,

RE: Whats your opinion for iPhone 13Mini

2022-02-24 Thread sandrastreeter381
There are several available, one containing more dots (I chose that one), and
one for people more confident than me. I use them to keep me honest re using
the keyboards--on a screen without dots, I have this fine-motor issue where I
don't stay in one place when I double-tap or do other gestures--somehow, the
kinesthetics are easier with landmarks, for me. I leave the un-dotted screens
to folks braver than I, LOL!

Two questions to add to the pot:

1. what are the dimensions? I'm small-handed, and might find it easier to use.

2. however, not easier if AT guys or someone else doesn't offer a dotted
overlay like I have on my 8. Is there such a thing?

The battery life is pretty good. Prior to making my decision to go with the
mini I did a bunch of research and if I remember correctly the tests showed
it’s battery life similar to that of the 12 Pro, which I was coming from.

If it’s a small phone you want, then it’s the only way really to go. I did
pick up the mag safe battery for the times I know I’ll be away for a long time
as a precaution.

Hi!

I use Pluto, but the secret is, is to press enter on watch movies and TV shows
at the bottom right of the phone or tablet.

I cannot figure out how to watch channels live either.

It is so much better to just swipe through all the movies and shows, and double
tap on one, and then explore the screen up toward the right hand corner for the
media player.

Also, there is Tubie TV, which is much more accessible, and has a lot of the
free stuff that Pluto has.

You will like Tubie a lot!

Next, is film rise. It has a lot of TV series and is accessible, but you have
to work at all of these apps.

You have to do a lot of feeling around the screen, you cannot just swipe.

Also, I use Popcorn Flicks. It works well, but again, you have to feel back and
forth on the screen. Swiping is pretty much useless with these apps.

Also, there is Free TV, another app.

Those are the free TV apps I use the most!

Have a great one!

With the help of a friend, I was able to put all the OB files onto a thumb

I suspect your best bet would be to open them with Openbook and save in word or
txt format.

I'm doubtful you will find anything in Mac or iOS.

If you don't still have Openbook, I'm not sure what you can do.

Maybe do a web search for opening openbook .arc files and see what comes up.

Hi!

Like Sandra said, there is not much of a learning curve to Win10.

I used Windows 7, and went right into Win10.

The search function pretty works the same in the start area.

You can get rid of the app tiles in Win10 if you want to make it look much more
like Windows 7.

I picked up my Android phone quickly as well.

I did not get a smart phone until December, and like you guys, I don’t know how
I did without the phone!

I can do tasks in seconds on the smart phone that is very difficult to do on
the computer.

Also, there is an area in Win10 where all the settings are all divided into
neat categories.

You don’t have to go looking through the control panel.

I never liked doing that in XP.

I have a lot of tutorials on using Win10 that I can send you.

You will get so much help, and you do not have to use everything in Win10. If
you do not care about some of the new features, you do not have to worry about
them.

Have a great one, guys!

Your signature is very apt to the topic, Holly. It is so true--we give up,
often, before we would be just-about ready to "get it"! I'm one of those
unfortunates who takes for-EVER to learn a new device--I hate being new at
anything. I want the end result, but not always the journey! For me, it isn't
even age-related; I'm in my mid-50's, and have always dreaded learning new
stuff, ha, ha! Also, for me, part of it is a learning style thing--I'm a
Braille user from way back, and find there's not often enough Braille material
for training--most people can hear a tutorial online or whatever, but five
words in, I'm already going, "What'd he just say" because the words have
already left my brain! And, there are not many people like me, so the audios
get the most demand, therefore the most circulation.

RE: Best way to play SiriusXM radio

2019-05-12 Thread sandrastreeter381
Is there a way you can use your PC for it? I tend to want to do work on my PC
while something else is playing in the background.

I'd recommend either using the amazon echo, or the google home. Of
course, you could use an iPhone, the choice is yours. Good luck.

Is there a way to get a refund for an app that proves to be partially
inaccessible? It’s the Classics app which is suppose to have classic tv shows.
It shows all the genres and subgenres but you can’t go any further than that.
It even has a search field that only shows the edit field and a cancel button.
