Have you tried opening the app? Push alerts can't work unless you've opened the 
app first, so when you upgrade to a new device, you have to be sure to launch 
the app.

When I was using my iPhone 4S, I had this app and loved the fact that it
alerted me when major breaking news happened. Now that I have upgraded to a
5S, I no longer get the audible alerts, in spite of the fact that all of my
