RE: Accessible Program for Removing Duplicate Files in iTunes
Hi Isaac, Yes, but that doesn't do anything to remove the many duplicated files that are in my iTunes library. Do you know of any other solutions? There seem to be a lot of programs out there to achieve this purpose, but I'm not sure they're accessible. I downloaded a trial of Dupe Away and can't even find out where to get my free diagnostic that is supposed to tell me how many duplicates I have. Have you gone to the menu, then view, and choose show duplicates? Back on my old XP machine, I had some scripts called teridons itunes scripts that I downloaded from God knows where that dealt with this problem. It took some Jaws cursor usage (if that’s your screen reader), but it got the job done nicely. I'm not sure about duplicates, but BlindTunes is a set of scripts that work with JAWS 11 or higher that can remove dead links. I think it can also show you them and give you the option of locating the files, but I'm not entirely sure about that last thing. The scripts are 10 USD. You can find them at www.blindtunes.net. There's also an audio demo showing you the kinds of tasks the scripts can perform.
