Go to Settings, then Bluetooth, then the phone should find and pair with your 
Instant Pot. If this does not happen, you may have to push a button on the pot 
itslf and hold it for a few seconds to turn on the pot’s Bluetooth capability. 
Unfortunately, i don’t remember where this button is, and i needed sighted help 
to find it. Good luck, and happy cooking!

An Instant Pot question

I have the 6-quart bluetooth model of the Instant Pot. I recently had to 
replace my iPhone and I do not remember how I paired the pot and phone. Can 
anyone tell me how this is done?

Well, I guess Instant Pot really doesn’t want my business. When I just checked 
to see if I could order it from Amazon.com and have it shipped to Canada it 
wouldn’t let me and kept telling me the item could not be shipped to the 
address I selected.
I did another search on Amazon Canada and it says the item is “currently 
unavailable”.
Interestingly enough a listing for the old Instant Pot Smart Bluetooth came up, 
it shows as discontinued on Amazon.com and every time I came across it before 
on Amazon Canada there were usually just used ones for sale. Now there is a 
listing for a new one sold by Amazon for $187 Canadian which is about $145 US. 
It’s almost tempting, but then again the new one is of the newer generation and 
while the app may not be totally accessible right now that will hopefully get 
fixed and I also really like the idea of the upcoming google Home integration 
so I guess I’ll continue to wait and continue to write cynical messages to 
Instant Pot regarding not selling their own product in their own country.
I should really get more into this Facebook thing and start posting those 
messages on their social media accounts since that may get their attention 
more. If there is a Facebook savvy Canadian on the list who maybe even uses 
Twitter feel free to do so!

just have to deal with a bit of shipping and import fees, but if the price is 
right that might be worth it.

Have you ever asked a sighted person to look as you are putting a dish together 
and set up the Instant Pot? At some point there must be a mistake being made if 
you put in all ingredients exactly as the recipe says and yet the food turns 
out horrible.

and, even better, advice from experienced IP users, who can answer questions 
and help sort out what may have gone wrong and what to do differently next

The WIFI Instant Pot is very useable. Make sure you get the WIFI model because 
the buttons on the pot are raised and you can feel and identify them. I got one 
for Christmas and find that the app is not Voice Over friendly, I can’t set the 
pot’s cooking settings with the app. But I can set them with the buttons on the 
pot. The app sends notifications about what the pot is doing. I have a list of 
the buttons and what they do and other information that a reader and I put 
together. I have shared this with this list and would be happy to send it again 
to the list or to you if you wish. Just let me know.

I like the pot and hope the company will update its app to make the settings 
useable from the app.

Hi Vicki,

The WIFI Instant Pot is very useable. Make sure you get the WIFI model because 
the buttons on the pot are raised and you can feel and identify them. I got one 
for Christmas and find that the app is not Voice Over friendly, I can’t set the 
pot’s cooking settings with the app. But I can set them with the buttons on the 
pot. The app sends notifications about what the pot is doing. I have a list of 
the buttons and what they do and other information that a reader and I put 
together. I have shared this with this list and would be happy to send it again 
to the list or to you if you wish. Just let me know.

Oh, I am not saying that your info is not good.  In fact, I have had that 
zip file for a while and was glad I had it.  I am just saying that if 
someone buys the smart instant pot the layout will be different.  A lot of 
people can benefit from those files as long as they know that the button 
layout is different.  I will write up the smart layout here in a bit.

Actually, if you go to there web site it is pretty accessible and has a lot 
of recipes as well.
Also, there is an app called instant pot and there are many recipes in that. 
if you do a search on your you tube app of choice for instant pot recipes 
or, cooking with the instant pot, or if there is something specific that you 
want like for example,  cooking a roast in the instant pot  or flan in the 
instant pot other things will come up as well.  You tube is my favorite 
though.  If something isn't described well enough I just share the link with 
someone and ask them whatever question I might have.  Hope this helps.
