Limeade is good. Press twice to get flash light. Usally it turn on the
current automatically and voice over tells you iPhone is charging, but one
time when outdoor it did not. I checked the battery status, so it was not a
problem.

Take care

RE: Any opinions on battery packs with high MAH?

2014-06-09 Thread Cristóbal
A couple of weeks ago, I grabbed a 20,000 mah battery pack on sale at eBay
for $11.95 with free shipping. It came with two USB charging ports and a one
year warranty. I don't recall the name of the seller, but they had nearly a
100% rating and had sold over 200 of these same units all with good ratings.
I saw it mentioned on Fatwallet and Dealnews. I know not all lithium mah
batteries are equal, but for this amount of juice and for the price, I
figured it was well worth it. So far, so good. My point is, you can always
find a good deal on these types of items. Just poke around the ratings and
customer feedback and you should be able to find something that's reliable.

I believe the flashlight takes a press and hold for a certain amount of
seconds, or a certain amount of presses to activate with the limeade batteries.
There's also a 2400 mah model made by Limeade.

Re: Any opinions on battery packs with high MAH?

2014-06-07 Thread Michael Feir
I have a 12000MA pack called the iCurrior. There are also the Eton
Boost options which let you crank charge the batteries. If you're
going to be exposed to a lot of sunlight, there are solar charger
options to consider. I stumbled upon some of this while searching for
external batteries. Also, there's this place called Hypershop or
something like that. They apparently have very high-capacity
batteries. You should probably give them a look. They're at
www.hypershop.com
When I look for tavel gear or backpacks, my first stop is:
www.mec.ca
Best of luck with your trip.

RE: Any opinions on battery packs with high MAH?

2014-06-07 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Pranav,

I would definitely go with the Limefuel, it has a higher capacity and 4.6
out of 5 on Amazon which is excellent. The other pack you mentioned is only
11,500 MAH. Of course it depends on how many days you will be gone, will you
be camping and hiking for several days without any access to power? The
Limefuel batteries come in various capacities and they even make one larger
now at 24,000 MAH.

By the way, the highest peak in the Appalachians is Mount Mitchel at 6,684
feet or 2,037 metres. Not sure where you get the 12,500 feet of elevation
you mentioned, these sort of elevations you will only find in the Rockies.

Sieghard

Oops, sorry, I could have sworn I heard Appalachians and not Himalayas
even though both with Voiceover and Jaws it doesn't really sound that close.
Yes, you definitely want the 24,000 MAH version if you plan to use GPS a
lot. Of course if you don't have any mobile connection otherwise you can
turn off things like WiFi, Bluetooth and even cellular data. Unfortunately
turning on Airplane mode also disables the GPS so that's not an option.
