RE: Anyone else have Voiceover speak slower since iOS 16?

2022-09-13 Thread Christopher Chaltain
If anything I think enhanced Ava is a tiny bit faster in IOS 16, but it may
just be my imagination.

BTW, I’m sticking with Enhanced Ava. I just didn’t like the way Premium Ava
pronounced a few words.

I can only compare it to jaws and it sounds like it’s at 15% for me even at 50%

Which voice are you using?

If anything, it seems like my usual 60 percent with Tom Enhanced and now with
Jamie premium or enhanced, whatever it is, is a tiny bit faster.
I slowed them down to 55% and that seems closer to what I had before.
Interesting.

Hi.

I’m not one of those that has Voiceover speak very fast. I was happy with 50%
speaking rate. When I upgraded to iOS 16, however, the speech is noticeably
slower. I checked the rate, and it’s still at 50%. I increased it on the home
screen to 55%, and it significantly got faster than what I’m used to on my
phone. I think it will work, so I’m not that worried about it. I guess I could
make a finer adjustment in Voiceover settings, so I might do that in the end.
