I have the bp12 and you shouldn't need to pair it again.
When I get ready to turn mine off, I do the following.
press the button to lock the phone.
Press k-chord to turn off.
When you get ready to turn back on press k-chord again and unlock your phone.

I just purchased a Braille Pen12.

I had no problem pairing it with my iPhone 5.

However, when I turn off the Braille Pen12 and, go back and turn it back on, I 
have to pair it again.

I wonder if it's a bug in IOS7 or, is it something in the display.

Any ideas?

braille displtys in general.  You will also notice that you have to type

Sorry Anthony, It seems to have been Apple that causes problems with this.  You 
will notice that if you don't braille fast enough when you are using 
contractions, weird things happen so braille fast. lol

When you want to turn off your display, be sure to lock your iPhone first, then 
turn off the display. Likewise, you need to press the sleep / wake button 
before turning the display back on.

It's weird, but doing it this way all the time should prevent the necessity of 
having to constantly repair the phone and display. If you do things in another 
order, the pairing is lost.
