Your points make perfect sense. I've had the same problems and yes
it's very slow at updating unless you actually open the app. So I
think I will take the plunge today.

Since weather has come up again, I use weather radio, but I want an app that 
not only gives local tempps and humidity but I also would like an app that 
gives me the pollen count. Any thoughts? If weather radio does this, how do I 
get to it?

It's done some odd things here too yesterday it randomly changed my current 
location to another state. I find it annoying often times myself and that's 
why I love options.

send it it gives the alert date as 12/31/69 and it always says until 7 pm

I heartily dispise the native weather app. It updates extremely 
slowly and constantly tells me I am in a town where I am decidedly not.

I just  love hearing it's night at 8:30 in the morning.

In my opinion both do what they do well.
I always find it fascinating why people choose that which they do and am glad

best in my opinion. I am an extreme weather freak, even to the point of driving 
everyone who knows me crazy. Therefore you can rest assured I have tried just 
about every weather app out there.

Weather alert USA is about $20, but provides detailed 7 day forecasts and 
notes, as well as more than 120 different types of severe weather weather and 
other hazardous alerts for any specified area or multiple states and/or 
counties at once.  The app is completely VO friendly and I figured out how to 
set it up and use it just by taking time to play around with it. I don't have 
things memorized but the ease of use is such that memorization is not 
necessary, all settings are saved in iCloud backups so if you have to restore 
everything is restored to how you had it set up before the most recent backup.

The one I like because I am not a weather fanatic, but do like to know what the 
temp is locally, and where I may be going is faerenhight, it saves your 
previous cities, and you can change or add cities on the fly.  It even has 
alerts for people like me who live in the upper midwest, when the temp drops

Maybe it is on sale? The developer is Softpeas LLC and the title is weather 
alert USA. Once downloaded, it shows up as WX alert USA on the home screen.

notes, as well as more than 120 different types of severe weather weather
and other hazardous alerts for any specified area or multiple states and/or
counties at once.  The app is completely VO friendly and I figured out how
to set it up and use it just by taking time to play around with it. I don't
have things memorized but the ease of use is such that memorization is not
necessary, all settings are saved in iCloud backups so if you have to
restore everything is restored to how you had it set up before the most
recent backup.
