braille sense on hand 8.1.2 a problem

2015-01-06 Thread Eden Kizer
Ok, I used to could enter my ITunes password with no problem, I would
tap the cursor above the edit field, and then I would attempt to type
having grade II turned on which used to work I tried it the other way
too no go can't enter with my braille sense, I can navigate my screen
perfectly, it's only entering text that is a problem. I can deal with
this with most things using dictation or a bluetooth keyboard, but I am
not sure you can dictate a password nor how to say like cap a letter
then not cap some and such. I have always found entering text with the
display more cumbersome than the bluettooth keyboard, but I still prefer
to use the sense only if I can get away with it for most tasks so
disappointed and wondering why I can no longer do this.

2014-11-16 Thread Dean Martineau
Put the onHand into terminal mode.

Now open accessibility options, (settings, general, accessibility options,
though Siri can open it as well,) activate VoiceOver, then activate Braille.
At the bottom, find your braille display among the available devices, probably
the active one, and double-tap it. Hopefully you will get the chance to enter
the pin code, , on both devices. If that fails, reset the OnHand, turn the
phone off and on again or use the power-button-five-times trick, and try again.

Yes, thanks, Dean, I was having trouble but did get it fixed, I hear
these things happen, but I wasn't expecting it to happen after only 2
weeks. Are there particular events that can create these problems or is

Re: my Braille Sense on hand unpaired or something

2014-11-16 Thread Paul Henrichsen
Another thing to do is to find the braille display under your voiceover menu.
There will be a more info button. Double tap on that and double tap on forget
this item.
Then start the pairing process again as you did the first time when you got the
unit.
I had to do this with my U2 as it wouldn’t pair until I had the phone forget
the device so I could start over again.

Re: Braille Sense On Hand

2013-09-05 Thread Mario Barbuto
After a strong struggle, I solved the problem
according to the instructions provided by Hims.
I mean performing an hard reset of the Iphone
device, long pressing both together the Home and
ScreenLock buttons for about ten seconds.
After that, the Braille Sense On Hand appears in
the list of VoiceOver bluetooth visible devices ready to pairing as usual.

Thank you very much indeed to people who gave me ideas and suggestions.

Warmly,

Mario.

Re: Braille Sense On Hand

2013-09-02 Thread Tracy

Hi Mario
Have you tried going under settings, General, Accessibility, VoiceOver,
Braille? If your notetaker is supported, the iPhone should be able to find
it then.

Kind regards
Tracy

  Hello everybody,

I need to connect my Iphone to the Braille Sense OnHand Braille notetaker.
I have followed all the steps listed in the Hims OnHand manual, but the
Iphone doesn't see the Braille device.

I've an Iphone 4 and a 6.3 IOS version.

On despair, just for test, I tried to connect the Braille Sense to a
Windows PC, an Android phone, a Nokia N95 and all of them regularly found
the device that means its bluetooth component seems working as expected.

Some ideas?
Some suggestions?

Help will be highly appreciated.

TIA.

Mario.

Hi,
In the Braille Sense, make sure that you select the item Bluetooth Serial
port with VoiceOver and not just Bluetooth serial port.
I have a BrailleSense U2 and it works well.

  Hi Adi,

unfortunately, in the on hand device there are only two screen reader
terminal options:
bluetooth serial port and USB port.
Today I had the opportunity to try another Iphone 4S of a friend of mine,
reaching the same negative result.

Thank you for your help!

I heartily wish you the maximum success, hoping the hebrew voice will be
integrated into the Idevices soon.

Mario.
