Comments on Launch Center Pro

2013-08-29 Thread Joseph FreeTech
Hi,

Has anyone ever used the following app:
Launch Center Pro by Contrast
iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod
touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad on the iTunes
App Store

It is an app which will allow one to create shortcuts to many IOS apps and
features. I'm particularly worried about accessibility. From iTunes store:

Launch actions, not just apps!

It's like speed dial, but for more than just phone calls! Launch Center Pro
creates lightning quick shortcuts to specific features buried deep within
apps. Call a loved one, message a friend, launch Instagram's camera to
quickly snap a pic, tweet, or turn your iPhone into a flashlight. Launch
Center Pro gets you to where you're going faster than ever before!

Launch Center Pro is an app of verbs. Search. Shoot. Call. Text. Add...
With a simple tap-and-slide, you can launch apps, perform actions and
more... It's so simple and fast that before long your muscle memory takes
over and you don't even have to look. -Dave Caolo

List of Launch Center Pro supported apps and actions:

I hope to get some feedback either positive or negative as I'm really
considering purchasing this app, but if it is not accessible then I'm
probably going to waste 3 or 4 dollars. :) Here is a YouTube video
describing what this app can do:

Thank you for your time.

Joseph

RE: Comments on Launch Center Pro

Hi Joseph,

I would definitely hold off until after iOS 7 is released and then see if
the app hangs around. First of all, I don't see the point about shortcuts to
call people, all you have to do is put people in your Favorites list. If I
have focus on the Favorites tab in the phone app, I can open my phone app
just as quickly as I can open this app and then Favorites will be right
there and all I have to do is double tap on any one of them to start a call
and, I think, you can add Favorites as well to start a text message.

Flashlight - in the keynote in June when the new Control Center was
introduced they said that apart from turning on/off things like airplane
mode, Bluetooth or WiFi, there are also quick launch buttons in Control
Center for the Calculator, Camera and iOS 7 has a native Flashlight function
accessible via the Control Center.

As for website shortcuts, you can create them and put them on your home
screen using Safari.

Anyhow, I am not saying that this app might not hav some useful features,
but it also seems to duplicate some things you can do in iOS 7 fairly easily
and possibly iOS 7 adds some native features which take away even more from
this app. So, I would wait, first of all check to see if it is still there a
month or so after iOS 7 comes out, then read some reviews of people who
used it under iOS 7. In the meantime you can always write to the developer
and ask if they have anything to say about Voiceover accessibility.

Regards,
Sieghard
