Thanks, Richard. I am going to save this information. I know that I do have 
IMAP and have had it ever since I got this computer with Outlook. I haven't had 
my phone 90 days, so it sounds a little daunting for now, but not forever.

port: (SSL) 993

Outgoing servers:




smtp.windstream.net <http://smtp.windstream.net> 

port: (SSL) 465

Both the incoming and outgoing servers will need to verify your full email 
address and password to work correctly so be sure you enable authentication on 
the outgoing server as well.




Description of servers




IMAP (Internet Messaging Access Protocol) –  Messages are kept on the 
Windstream server. All devices using IMAP will look the same; if a message is 
deleted, or a folder is created on any one device, or our webmail, that change 
will immediately reflect on all devices. This is the preferred incoming server

I found this on your Windstream's web site .  Have this information available 
when you go to set up your Email on your iPhone.

You will start under Settings, Accounts and Passwords.

I am trying to change my Email setting, to only fetch Emails, when i open the 
mail app, i think it is called manual.

updating my email settings in my gmail app on my device

My internet provider is updating to a new platform and this will include 
outlook express and my gmail app on my device.  So I need to update my settings 
in my gmail app on my device my iPhone with my incoming  and outcoming  server. 
So where do I need to go on my iPhone to update my settings? Thanks.

First go to settings. 
Then Go to mail contacts and calendars. 
Then choose account. 
Then from there  you have the out going server then in advance you can change 
the port number. 
  
Are you using iMap to connect to your email account using your iPhone or pop?

calendars you have to choose the account you want to change settings for and 
then choose account.

Use the link at the bottom of each email 
http://groups.google.com/group/viphone and select Membership and Email 
Settings in the My Settings menu. In the resulting dialog, tab down and 
change from send me an email for every new message to don't send me emails.


I'm using Orca and Firefox with no problem, but I don't know how 
accessible this is with other screen reader and browser combinations.

transfering email settings

I have an email account on my iPod touch. I now want that account on my IPhone. 
Can I do it without having to type all that information and just transfering 
the setting through iTunes?
