RE: Emails and Contacts Help Please!
I can’t find this setting either, either in Outlook settings or searching on the web. In fact, I’ve found some plugins for Outlook that add this feature to Outlook. I don’t use IMAP though for my Outlook apps and my Outlook.com account, so maybe that has something to do with what you’re seeing. I know that the only way I could get addresses from my address book in Outlook over to my iPhone was to use GContactSync and have my Gmail account as a go between. Even if email addresses are being saved automatically in Outlook, I’m not sure how they would show up in the contacts list on the iPhone. I just did some more searching, and I found out I can create an Outlook account on my iPhone to sync emails, notes, calendars and contacts. This may simplify my life since I won’t need to keep using Gmail as a go between. Maybe now that I’m doing this, I’ll see what you’re talking about. BTW, if you’re talking about addresses you’ve added to Outlook on your PC and you just don’t want them showing up on your iPhone then you can just go into Settings -> Email and select your Outlook account and just toggle contacts to off. -- Christopher (AKA CJ) Chaltain at Outlook From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf Of janet gross Sent: Tuesday, August 30, 2022 8:03 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: RE: Emails and Contacts Help Please! I seem to recall this setting, but I can’t find it at the moment. This setting though would just add contacts to your Outlook address book. This wouldn’t explain why they would be showing up in the Contacts app on your iPhone. Which group are they in on your iPhone? On my phone, I use Outlook iOS, on my PC I use MS 365 imap on my phone as well as on my PC. I don’t really even know when this all started as I just noticed it today when I was looking for a certain contact on my phone, and seen several email addresses from my PC in which I had sent to people in the contacts on my phone. I haven’t went through my contacts on my phone in at least over a year. I hope this makes sense. Thank you all in advance. RE: Emails and Contacts Help Please!
Hi, I am seeing these email addresses on my phone in my contact list. I do not see either of the addresses when I am filling out the to field. The email addresses are all over the place in my contact list or maybe I should say contact app. There are way to many of the addresses, and if I delete them, I don't know if that will delete them from my PC. RE: Emails and Contacts Help Please!
There is a setting in Outlook that governs whether email addresses you write to are automatically added to your contacts. I don’t recall where that is since it has been years since I got it turned off. Call Microsoft Accessibility 800-936-5900 and see if they can tell you. Or do a web search for addresses automatically added to contacts or something like that and you may find the setting to turn off.
