Extreme iTunes Frustration Continued: Update

2014-06-02 Thread Christine Grassman
I want to thank all of you who are trying to assist with your suggestions.
However:

1. I did have music turned off in iTunes and app store.

2. I understand how to use the grid; before going into column browser, the
album grid was not going past a certain point, no matter what I did.

3. I did change to column browser, and do see the different listings, but do
not see where to check and uncheck artists, genres, albums, or particular
songs from a particular artist or album. I am only seeing check or uncheck
when songs are selected, which was always the case, and which, as started this
whole problem, does not appear to make a difference.
Going out of my mind with this wasted space on my iPhone, and having to skip,
skip, skip, when listening to music because of the currently unwanted
selections.
 . . .
Kimba, how did you delete all music from your phone easily and then start over?
I'm thinking this is my next try.
Christine

Re: Extreme iTunes Frustration Continued: Update

2014-06-02 Thread Robert Doc Wright
The easiest way to clear the music from your device is to clear the music
from your music playlist in the iTunes window and sync your phone as if you
were adding music. I missed the beginning of this thread. Could you write
me off list telling me what you are wanting to do?

If we can't look at ourselves, and ask, why? then where does the learning
start?

Re: Extreme iTunes Frustration Continued: Update

2014-06-02 Thread Kimber Gardner
Hi Christine,

To delete all the music on your phone go into settings, general,
usage. Find music and you should see how much space is currently being
used for music. Double tap and you will find yourself on a screen that
says something like all music. Do a single finger flick just as you
would to delete a message in your mail app or any number of other
apps. Now when you back out of that screen, under usage it should say
something like no content.

I hope that helps. I had to do this several times during my struggle
to get only the music I wanted synced to my iPhone.

RE: Extreme iTunes Frustration Continued: Update

2014-06-02 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Christine,

You don't select songs in your music library, you do so in your device
section.
Go to your device in iTunes, tab until you find the music radio button and
check it.
Now tab until you find Sync All Music and see if it is checked. If it is
then this is your problem right there.
Tab a couple more times until you hear Sync Selected Playlists, Genres,
Artists and Albums and check it.
Now tab more and you will find list views for playlists, genre, artist and
album. Decide how you want to sync your music, e.g. by album or artist, then
in that list view arrow through the available selection and check what you
want.
If this is still not precise enough, e.g. if you want songs from Dire
Straits but not all songs from Dire Straits, then you are probably best off
to make playlists with exactly the songs you want (that is done in the music
library section of iTunes) and then sync only these playlists.

To delete all music simply tell iTunes you don't want to sync any music,
also in the same area.

Regards,
Sieghard

RE: Extreme iTunes Frustration Continued: Update

2014-06-02 Thread Christine Grassman
I guess I am not being clear. I have unchecked songs, artists, and albums
that are being synced. This is in my device section, not in my iTunes library.
I cannot access all album titles in that section, no matter how I manipulate
the arrows. I do not have sync entire library checked. Music is turned off in
iTunes and app store.
Yet still, songs I do not want, and that are unchecked, (not all of them) are
still being synced, despite the fact that I have all artists, genres, and
albums unchecked now.

How about the automatic download settings, have you bought stuff from iTunes
and maybe you have that turned on?
