Understood. I do not like being told what to do, either.

RE: Foreced Fleksy Upgrade?

2013-07-20 Thread Alan Lemly
Thanks for your comments Chuck and Chris. While I won't deny I can probably
easily get used to the Fleksy changes, I really see the main issue I wanted
to explorer as being the denial of choice with respect to an upgrade. I
mean, the Fleksy developers don't have to provide any technical support for
an older version if they choose not to so I'm at a loss why they would force
a user to upgrade. I'll see what they say to my email support request.

Hi Alan,
Although the new version has an extra step for the favorites, I believe it
is faster, at least for me, because the name of the contact is displayed so
I do not have to wait while voice over reads the email address to me so I
can figure out who is who.
Now I can quickly flick through the list to find what I am looking for.

Alan, I upgrade regardless of new features or enhancements. I feel it's
best to stay with the latest and greatest. Guess you'll have to do the
same. You may not care for the changes at this time but bet you will in
due course.

Foreced Fleksy Upgrade?

2013-07-20 Thread Alan Lemly
I use Fleksy version 1.7.2 on my iPhone 5 and chose not to upgrade to the
recently released version 1.8 because I did not care for the changes to
Favorites made by that version. Today, when I attempted to use Fleksy to
type an email, I got a notification about an upgrade with enhancements which
contained a single ok button to execute. There was no option to decline and
launch the existing app. After executing ok, I was taken to the Apps Store
upgrade Fleksy page where I chose not to upgrade. However, every time I try
launching Fleksy, I'm presented again with the upgrade notice.

Does anyone know how to avoid what seems to be a forced upgrade? Is this

Support asking about this but I wanted to get some thoughts from the wise
folks on this list.

Thanks for any assistance you can offer.
