Which Siri voice are you using, male or female? Both the female and male
siri voices do sound different from what Siri used before. They are
supposed to be of higher quality and to my ears, this is the case.

Besides what was already mentioned about the HQ voices, make sure you upgrade

Hi Brent,
Others have given you good information about what to do.

I will tell you my 5S had some very strange kinks when I first got it.

I had to download and reinstall the HQ voices on three different occasions.

The initial set up screen came back a couple of times.

Thankfully, all this has cleared up, so I suggest giving it a bit of time and
installing the updates, and, hopefully, your 5S will settled down and run happy.

If you’re in the states or Canada, you can try the male siri voice and see if

 help.

Hi guys. I got my new iPhone 5s 32 GB gold model today. I am not sure if I
might have some defective hardware but the speaker on the 5s sounds quite a
bit different than the speaker on my 5. Not in a good way either. With voice
over and SIRI it is robotic where the iPhone 5 quality sounds like a real
person. The voice over and over all volume seems to be quieter also.
Definitely not as crisp and as clear as the iPhone 5. Has anyone else
experienced this or is this just normal for the new 5s? It took me so long
to get this phone that it's probably going to be another month to get a
replacement. Anyone have any thoughts or observations on this? Anything
 would be appreciated. Thanks.

2013-11-16 Thread Pablo Morales
Hi Brent. I am talking by my own experience. Days ago, I noticed that siri had
a very low quality sound. I asked it in the list, because I noticed that the
English siri voice had a very different quality than voice over, but not too
bad, but the siri Spanish voice sounded very bad. Now, both siri languages
sound better. Not like voice over, but with a better quality. What did I do?
Only restore my iPhone with IOs 7.0.3, and wait until every thing was
installed. Now I have a better siri voice, in English, or Spanish. I don't have
IOs 7.0.4 yet, I am talking about IOs 7.0.3. .

Is there a high-quality voice that you download for Siri? Or I thought it's
already built-in? That's the main problem I'm having not with the voiceover
voices I have downloaded the high-quality voice. Just mainly having the problem
with the difference and quality the voice on Siri. I actually took my phone
into the Apple store and they gave me a brand-new one and it's a little better
but still not as good as my iPhone five.

  Hi Brent,
Others have given you good information about what to do.

I will tell you my 5S had some very strange kinks when I first got it.

I had to download and reinstall the HQ voices on three different
occasions.

The initial set up screen came back a couple of times.

Thankfully, all this has cleared up, so I suggest giving it a bit of time
and installing the updates, and, hopefully, your 5S will settled down and run

Hi,

I thought my iPhone 4 with voice-over sounded moor full bodied. Even
listening to music the iPhone 4 seems to have a wider depth to the sound. The
5s seems to have slightly more volume. The sound can be compensated for and I
can get a pleasing sound in the end. I'm not ready to say I don't like the
sound of the 5s, I'm just saying it's different then it is in my iPhone 4.

Brent, I had the same situation when I received my 5s. That I did was
connect my iPhone 5s to iTunes, and start a restore process. Some times the
restore fix things that apparently are weird. After the restore, leave your
iPhone connected to your computer, to make the update, and the download of high
quality voices, faster.

  Hi Brent,
Others have given you good information about what to do.

I will tell you my 5S had some very strange kinks when I first got it.

I had to download and reinstall the HQ voices on three different
occasions.

The initial set up screen came back a couple of times.

Thankfully, all this has cleared up, so I suggest giving it a bit of
time and installing the updates, and, hopefully, your 5S will settled down and
run happy.

Install the hq voice from accessibility and it ought to sound better.

Hi guys. I got my new iPhone 5s 32 GB gold model today. I am not sure if I
might have some defective hardware but the speaker on the 5s sounds quite a bit
different than the speaker on my 5. Not in a good way either. With voice over
and SIRI it is robotic where the iPhone 5 quality sounds like a real person.
The voice over and over all volume seems to be quieter also. Definitely not as
crisp and as clear as the iPhone 5. Has anyone else experienced this or is this
just normal for the new 5s? It took me so long to get this phone that it's
probably going to be another month to get a replacement. Anyone have any
thoughts or observations on this? Anything would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello, you need to allow the high-quality voice to download, the way it worked
for me, is by plugging in the phone to the AC adapter, and also keep the
phone connected to Wi-Fi.
The high-quality voice started up while I was still setting up stuff on the
phone.

Re: Got my new iPhone 5s today. Have some concerns. Maybe someone can help.

2013-11-15 Thread Rick Alfaro
Besides what was already mentioned about the HQ voices, make sure you
upgrade to the latest OS version. If your 5s came with v7.0 installed,
upgrading the firmware will fix a distortion issue that was present in
7.0. It was only noticeable at full volume as I recall but this was
fixed in IOS 7.01 I believe.

2013-11-15 Thread Ron Pelletier
Hi Brent,

Check the version of the IOS. If its 7.0, update it because there was a
problem with the quality in 7.0 that was fixed in 7.01.
