Re: Is there an accessible Hotmail app?
Hello Dean, I would suggest the native mail app on the iDevice. It does allow for the moving of Messages to different folders within the client-specific e-mail account. Re: Is there an accessible Hotmail app?
Hi, Thanks for the suggestions, I already knew about the native mail app so should have made myself clearer. Someone was asking me if there was an easy way to manage their Hotmail account on their phone, for example moving mail between folders to save mail etc and maybe a bit of general account management. I suggested they would do well to do some of the trickier things like this on the computer but thought I'd put the question to you guys. Re: Is there an accessible Hotmail app?
Hi, Just to add to this, you can now set up outlook accounts as IMAP on IOS and in Mail on the Mac. This way your mail, calendar, and notes can be synced quite easily. hth Ricardo Walker rica...@appletothecore.info Twitter:@apple2thecore www.appletothecore.info On Nov 11, 2013, at 3:49 PM, Sieghard Weitzel wrote: > Hi Dean, > > As Christopher pointed out, Hotmail works great with the native mail app. > Just remember that Hotmail is now called Outlook.com and if you are running > iOS 7 this change is reflected in the types of accounts you can pick from. > Just make sure when you add your account that you pick Outlook.com as your > account type, then enter your user name and password and that's it. RE: Is there an accessible Hotmail app?
Hi Dean, As Christopher pointed out, Hotmail works great with the native mail app. Just remember that Hotmail is now called Outlook.com and if you are running iOS 7 this change is reflected in the types of accounts you can pick from. Just make sure when you add your account that you pick Outlook.com as your account type, then enter your user name and password and that's it. After the connection is made you have the choice to turn on Mail, Contacts, Calendars and Reminders, I usually turn on the first 3 but I use iCloud for Reminders. On my PC I have Windows 7 and Office 2010 and if you are running Office 2003, 2007 or 2010 you can install the Outlook connector application from Microsoft and also set up your Outlook.com account in Outlook and mail, contacts and calendars will be synced between your computer and iPhone. If you have Office 2013 Outlook.com integration is built in and all you have to do is set up your account with your user name and password, the restis automatic. I personally find that Outlook.com works much better than gmail when it comes to keeping the account in sync between devices even though in iOS 7 gmail support now includes Contacts so at least you don't have to set up a separate CardDAV account to sync Google Contacts. Re: Is there an accessible Hotmail app?
Sorry, but I'm not sure I understand your question. One accessible email client that works with Hot Mail is the native email client that comes with IOS. I don't use Hot Mail myself, but I found this link on setting up the native email client in IOS to work with Hot Mail: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1694 If there's a reason you want to avoid the native email client then maybe you can explain what you're looking for and then someone else could be a bit more helpful and specific. Re: Is there an accessible Hotmail app?
Well if you just want to use Hotmail set it up in the stock Mail app under settings. When adding an account choose outlook.com account.
