Michael,

If your Jambox is connected anmd a call comes in just press the main button,
the round one, it answers incoming calls and hangs up calls which are in
progress.

Keep in mind that if you have a bluetooth speaker or headset connected and you
answer the call on the phone it is automatically routed to the phone's
earpiece, you have to answer the call from the Jambox if you want it on the
Jambox.

I should also mention that the speakerphone quality of the Jambox is not that
great and it's probably not something you want to use for an extended call, at
least I don't. You hear the other person well, but you will not sound good to
them.

There are few bluetooth speakers out there especially those who are primarily
designed for music which offer acceptable call quality.

I am not sure what you mean by stereo on your Jambox and not stereo on your
laptop. I actually don't think the Jambox plays true stereo, it is just a
single little speaker after all. I don't know what laptop you have and why you
think it doesn't play in stereo. There are definitely some new laptops out
there especially the higher-end 15 and 17 inch models which have very good
built-in speakers and some of them even have built-in subwovers.

Sieghard

calls using the jambox and the iPhone 5s? How do you hang calls up etc?

This was the first to be released after which there was a big Jambox and
later a Mini Jambox. Mine is the one with three buttons across the top, the
left one of which is round. On the right end are a 3.5 millimeter stereo
jack, the power input plug, and a three position switch, the top most of
which puts the unit in pairing mode.

Please would someone familiar with this box tell me what the user can do
with the top three buttons other than raising and lowering the volume.
I believe there is a means of answering a call when blue tooth is connected
and also possibly making a call. Additionally, pressing the round button
will announce the charging status. Sometimes it says Jambox is ready.

I should also mention that I do not have the latest firmware primarily
because the updater is not very accessible.

RE: Jambox questions

2014-01-31 Thread Thom Spittle
If you press the plus and minus buttons at the same time, it will go into
live mode. Pressed again, it will take it out of that mode.
You should be able to answer a call with the round button. Try pressing and
holding it to activate siri, if you have siri on your device.

Subject: Jambox questions

I have the original Jambox, though I don't recall its official name.

Thanks for any info.

The battery on my small Jambox appears to be dying. Is it user

RE: Small Jambox questions

2013-07-14 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
The original Jambox was released almost 3 years ago. I have one that is
probably nearly that old, maybe 2 years, and I must say that while the
battery still charges and works, battery life is greatly reduced. I haven't
tested it and now that this came up I probably will, but there is absolutely
no comparison to my new Outdoor Tech Turtleshell speaker which seems to play
and play and play. I am not going to invest anything in my Jambox even if I
could send it in to get the battery replaced by Jawbone since I like the
Turtleshell better anyways, for one thing I can take it with me into the
shower since it is IPX6 waterproof so I stick it up on a high shelf I have
where it doesn't get direct water on it and I have used it outside where it
rained on it all without any effect. The speakerphone isn't the best, but
it's OK to answer a call and if it turns out to be a longer call I just pick
up my phone and turn the Turtleshell off so the call switches to the phone.

As for Donald's battery, the Jambox has I believe a 1 year warranty so if
it's older than that they might not do anything about it although it's
probably worth a call. There was a toll free number at the end of the text I
pasted.

Sieghard
