Cheryl, I don't know if this is what you're thinking of, but I carry my IPad Mini and keyboard in the padded case I bought from Best Buy for my netbook. My IPad Mini is in its own case, but my keyboard is not. Maybe something similar would work for you, but on a larger scale. I've figured out how to get this Logitech keyboard/cover attached to the iPad for carrying; there were some pretty good directions for that in the pdf i found online. As for using it, does the iPad just stand in the slot above the keyboard?And can it stand in either portrait or landscape position?
