Weather Alert on NFB newsline mobile

Sometimes when I launch the NFB newsline Mobile app, I get a vibration and 
voice that says "Weather Alert" but I see no way to access the alert.
is there a way to do this in the app, or is it just telling you that there is 
an alert and you have to go to some other source to access it?

Andy:

Just go into TV favorites.  I think there may be a button to ‘add a favorite’, 
but it has been awhile since I did this.  Go down the list of channels and 
check the box of the station you want, then make sure you click the ‘save’ 
button when you are done.  The ‘save’ button may be at the top of the page.

Favoriting TV Channels Using the NFB newsline TV Listings

Because of the accesibility challenges with the TV Guide mobile app, I started 
using the TV listings on the NFB newsline app.
I am having issues with adding channels to favorites.  I did one, but it was 
pretty much by accident.  Can someone explain how to do this?

If you are talking from the Ap,
Go to page 2 in the app, which is the Information Sources screen.
Select an item you want, be it a newspaper or magazine, etc.
Open the one you want, in the right hand upper corner there should be an Add 
button.
Double tap that and then go back to page 1 in the app and it should be there.

Apparently, you can only change that through calling into their system and 
doing the TV listings setup.That is kind of dumb on their partYou could contact 
them through the support and feedback button on page 4 of the app, but it will 
probably be faster to use their phone system.

followed by pressing the 1 key which will bring you to the virus information. 
If you are using the NFB-NEWSLINE Mobile IOS app, look for the virus 
information under the "All Publications" section. The content can be accessed

Hello everyone! I am using an Android phone, and really wish I could test
and use the app on my Android phone. I really would like to talk to
someone, if you could recommend someone, I would greatly appreciate it if I
could let them know just how many of us are using the Android platform, and
how many blind people are being left out of the in FB news line at. If the
n f b wants to serve all blind individuals, they need to know that many of
us including me, are using Android phones and getting a lot done on them,
and we are totally blind. I have an iPhone, that is why I am on this list.
Many blind people though have even switched to Android because it is
becoming very accessible. The nfb needs to know that blind individuals want
their app on the Google play store, and they should not be left out. Thanks

I think things are missing because on every attempt to get newspapers, no 
matter which section, the below list is all that shows up, and double tapping 
on any of them gets no result. This particular list is from the international 
newspapers, and as you will see, it isn't a list of international newspapers, 
but the same list as in several other places in the Newsline beta.

NFB Newsline interface for the new beta

Hello All,

I’m not sure if this has been answered so far on list. The new NFB Newsline 
interface is confusing at best… Here is what I have found so far.

1. You are placed on the settings screen after you log in. This is page 4 of 4 
if you scroll all the way down to the bottom of the screen you will find a 
picker item much like you do for the home screens on iOS.
2. Page 3 is the KNFB scanner that has been added to the app. This will ask you 
for permission to utilize the camera allow it to do so and you will now have a 
pretty capable OCR app.
3. Page 2 is where you will find the list of types of publications in the 
application. This will be your home screen I assume. It seems to show your 
favorites and local things such as the weather etc.

You can utilize the picker item at the bottom of the screen to switch pages or 
you may also use the three finger swipe left to go to the previous page and 
three finger swipe to the right to access the next page.

Richard, yesterday, Both Wayne and I, and a lot of other  newsline members 
received this email from Scott White. 
The message was about the knfb reader and we got the impression that the 
newsline part of the app would be combined with this knfb beta app. We only 
installed it on one of the phones, and it went over the newsline app on the 
phone. What was there was the scanner with no way to get to newsline as well. 
So I gave it a try to get the newsline app again which I was able to get it, 
but when I went back to what just turned out to be an app for scanning  it 
seemed as if it got uninstalled. So here's the message now that I explained 
some of that confusion. I must have deleted the message from Scott White so I

Trouble with NFB Newsline subscriptions not updating today. Anyone else?

To update for today, there was no content in the New York Times if I tried to 
access the issue in my favorites list.  However, when I found today's New York 
Times with a different search category such as New York publications, there is 
content in today's issue.  I emailed nfb newsline about this discrepancy.  I 
deleted the times from my favorites, but it is not letting add it again.  Hope

Hello,
No I do not have this issue.
I do however, get sometimes, when in a particular issue, and section, that it 
will say there are 20 articles, and it will only read 1 and I have to go back 
out and then in again, and then everything is fine.
