Have you read through the help section in the app?
It tells you how to dismiss mBraille to get back to the regular keyboard after
you switch to it.
It does sometimes hang for a long time when you do that.

You can subscribe to the MBraille list from this link:

2017-11-06 Thread Richard Turner

Kimberly,
You are in tutorial mode.

When you open the app, are you in a blank document or do you have buttons on
the screen like Braille keyboard, mail, etc.
If you have the buttons, find the settings button and go through them because
you probably need to make other choices.
If you've been in the settings, nearly the last item is tutorial mode, turn
that off.
You can also choose to have UEB which is the last item in settings.
HTH,
Richard

RE: Need some help with the M braille app

2017-11-06 Thread Paul and Paula Jordan
I use MBraille all the time. It takes some getting used to, but is worth the
work. I hold the phone with the home button to the right. My thumbs are at
the top of the phone where the volume buttons are. My left hand index, middle
and ring fingers are dots 1 2 and 3, my right hand index middle and ring
fingers are dots 4 5 and 6. I keep it set to the away mode.
It does take some practice so be patient. HTH. Feel free to ask questions.
There is an email list for MBraille and people on that list are very helpful.
Harry Passaman, who is the developer of the app, seems to monitor the list and
he, as well as others on the list are more than willing to help.
God bless!

Subject: Need some help with the M braille app

Hi all,

I have just started playing with the M braille app and I seem to be having some
trouble. First, the swiping gestures often don't work for me or they don't do
what the user manual says they should. For example, a single finger swipe down
is supposed to enter a new line while a single finger swipe up is supposed to
read the text that was entered. I find they do the opposite.what am i doing
wrong?

Any help is appreciated.

Re: Need some help with the M braille app

2017-11-06 Thread Kimberly
Well, all I can say is Mbraille makes me feel really dumb. The app seems to
have a lot of potentially useful features except I can't get even the simplest
gestures to work as advertized. As for the layout options, I cam't get any text
to enter with any layout other than smart. In away mode I hear only numbers
announced no matter where or how I touch the screen.

If there's a podcast that demonstrates Mbraille I would love to know about it.

Thanks for any tips.

Re: Need some help with the M braille app

2017-11-06 Thread regina alvarado

Hi, I am using an 8 Plus and have the newest 10.1. I use the away mode with
home to the right. I also have the update for mBraille. I also began noticing
some swipes were not working. However, when I adjusted my finger movements so
that both hands were almost touching and spread my fingers a bit I am now using
with little problem again. Getting the feel of how to hold the phone and how
best "place your fingers takes patience and practice. However, I use this app
constantly. I can dictate or use the native keyboard, but mBraille is the
fastest way for me to write by far.

It all depends on the settings in MBraille and which mode you are using.
I use away mode with the home button to my right.
In that position, the swipes do exactly what they are supposed to do.
