I didn't know that there was an issue with bookshare on voice dream reader until I read this message. Thanks for the tip. I signed out of bookshare by turning it off, then back on again and once I signed back into bookshare, all was fine. I found and downloaded a book with no issues. Going to my Library settings in Voice Dream Reader, accessing Content sources, and turning Bookshare off and back on again and then signing into my Bookshare account within Voice Dream and giving it access again resolved the issue. Good afternoon. Thank you so much Donna for your suggestion. As it did work guys so what we need to do if you guys do not know. Is go into settings, then library settings. Then go to the content section. Then you want to select Bookshire and turn it off. Then you want to turn it back on. Log back in. And your stuff should appear again the way it supposed to. Major problem with voice dream reader and book share
Just letting everyone know that there is definitely a problem going on between voice dream reader and book share at this time. It shows an error message of 02 and all of us are receiving the error. I did contact book share and have also sent an email to voice dream. Some of you if having the same issue may want to reach out as well just to make sure that we are all having the issue, all of us on my WhatsApp book share group that I am help admin or having the problem, and so I just thought I would come and let everyone know. When I try to download files from my Dropbox, they don't show up in the list as they did a few weeks ago and always have. Example: In Dropbox, I have a folder with all of my media content such as documents, podcasts, etc. This is not a shared folder. Before, I would select add in Voice Dream Reader, select Dropbox to grab the files I wanted and download them and they would go to whichever folder I had opened in Voice Dream Reader. Now, when I open Dropbox to select the files, only one folder and one file is showing up in that media folder. There are 80 in there right now and they have always shown up before. Dropbox is turned on for downloading in Voice Dream Reader and nothing else has changed. I turned my IPad off and on, did the Voice Dream Reader update and turned it off and on again and still only one folder and one file show up. By chance, is there a back button in the very upper left? Could you have gotten stuck in a folder in Dropbox? I just went to add from Dropbox; and found I was in a subfolder. I hit the back button, and all my folders show up fine. I am going into Dream Reader and adding from Dropbox through there. I updated both after it stopped working. I have now uninstalled and reinstalled dream reader and turned off and on my IPad again. With all the hoopla around the latest Apple event and iOS 15 supposed enhancements to screen recognition, etc., I hope they test it fully using Voiceover because the sort of app wreckage described in this thread for VO users turning on screen recognition is a disaster. Even if you do the forced restart even if you’ve done an iPhone restore, since Apple is only allowing you even to go back if you were race your phone and get one iOS iCloud back up if there was a problem in that back up you can’t even go back far enough to get an update that will take you back to where you once were. Or go into Settings/Accessibity/Voiceover, and within Screen Regognition, you know how there's aa list of apps in which when selected, it'll turn it on automatically? Go in and deselect that app, or turn off completely the Screen Recognition option until it's fixed. I've a blind friend here who has thethe same problem, which only started a few days ago; he says that a sighted person says the screen and app are alright. The problem is the Screen recognition feature itself. I’ve tried everything from clearing the app switcher doing forced restart so if you know what that is with the up and down and then holding in the power button tried every option possible that I could try we even restore through iTunes which by the way if you guys need to do that you have to use NVDA as the latest version of jaws is not working well with the latest version of iTunes but NBA NVDA allowed me to do it. Good morning everyone. I thought I would respond to this message in hopes that a lot of you will read it. There is definitely a major bug with this latest iOS update 14.6 it is happening on my husband and my SE 2020s and it makes sense Vickie that it’s happening on your iPad for some reason if you ever turn screen recognition on we are finding that some apps are refusing to open. My husband is not able to get Outlook or Aira to open on his phone and I downloaded a new app last night and it would not open on my phone. We contacted Apple support, and they had us do screen sharing that and they are advising anyone who is having these problems to contact Apple and have it screen shared so that they can figure out what is going on because it is happening where many of us due to this latest update are having trouble opening apps. I just delete apps where they are located by flicking up to edit mode and double tapping, then select delete app and again delete app rather than remove which just puts it in the app library. Then, you can just redownload it through the purchased apps or sometimes it is just as easy to search for the app in the app store and redownload it. Then, you will need to go into the shop tab in VDR and select restore purchases. Just on the home screen where the app is, swipe down to Ediit Mode, then once Edit Mode is active, swipe down again and you are on Delete. Double tap and confirm that you want to delete the app, you also have an option to move it to the app library, but you want to delete it. Most likely you get one more prompt and you have to confirm again, then it's gone. Yes, afterwards you can go to your Purchased Apps section or simply search for Voice Dream Reader, it should say "Download" or "Reinstall" and if it asks that you need to confirm anything just do it, you will not be charged for anything you purchased before. When you did get into VDR, did you re-login to Bookshare, assuming you were using Bookshare? His update a little while ago added Bookshare version 2 and that required reentering one's login information. I have VDR working fine on my SE 2020 with the latest updates. I am not sure what to recommend, other than the extreme step of deleting the app and reinstalling it; which I know is a royal pain and may lose some documents. Problem with voice dream reader on the iPad
Hi All, I'm having a strange problem with voice dream reader on my iPad pro. While trying to read a bookshare book using VO, it appears that the last line on every page is being skipped. I downloaded the book to my laptop and verified that the text is actually present, however VO appears to be skipping that final line. This is true regardless of whether I use the two finger flick to invoke continuous reading or reading one page at a time. Can anyone confirm this or suggest a solution? When I check the app store for this update, my ipad doesn't see it. Any one else have this problem? Problem with Voice Dream Reader
Hi friends, I am a voice dream user. I had to change my Iphone as the earlier iphone got into disrepair. After that, WHatever I do, I am unable to restore my purchased voices. I tried 3/4 different ViFi networks but to no avail. The voices get downloaded to about 40% or so and then I get message saying voice download failed. I'd suggest you write the developer directly. It could be the book size, or maybe an error with the book, though it is more likely an issue with Voice Dream.
