Hi all, what you want to remember when using the ATT next program is
something that ATT does not tell their customers. Let's say that you buy
a

phone. The next year you decide you want to upgrade to another phone. This
is all okay you can do that. But you still will be paying for your first
phone until it is paid off, even though you have upgraded to another
phone.

So now you are paying for two phones. If you upgrade again the third year
you then would be paying for a third phone and so on. ATT does not tell
you
this and neither does any other Telephone Company. I wanted to share it
with

you. Because I talked directly to ATT about it and they told me that my
brother who told me about the situation was right this is exactly what
happens so if you decide to switch to another company and you haven't paid
off all of the phones. You are still liable for them. God bless, Wren PS.
If
this is not clear please write to me off list and I will try and explain
it

better.

Good to know, Lea.
I opted to pay for the 5s 64 gb iphone that I got.

Yes, I am back to a two year contract, but the plan I am on has worked well for
me, and I don’t need to get a new iPhone every time one comes out.

Now, when I went to pay for the new iPhone I asked if I could do a split
transaction.

The answer was “No.’”

It was okay with me, but their reason was because the card would not be charged
until the iPhone was shipped.

And, then the iPhone was shipped in 24 hours. I got it yesterday.

I guess the cash in hand isn’t worth the card in the bush.

RE: ATT and the Next program

2013-10-10 Thread Kliphton
But you are paying the upgrade price, not full retail. So by the time that
year is up, and the new phone is out, that phone is paid off. And the
activation is waved, something that doesn't happen if you just pay the
upgrade price.

Hi all, what you want to remember when using the ATT next program is
something that ATT does not tell their customers. Let's say that you buy a
phone. The next year you decide you want to upgrade to another phone. This
is all okay you can do that. But you still will be paying for your first
phone until it is paid off, even though you have upgraded to another phone.
So now you are paying for two phones. If you upgrade again the third year
you then would be paying for a third phone and so on. ATT does not tell you
this and neither does any other Telephone Company. I wanted to share it with
you. Because I talked directly to ATT about it and they told me that my
brother who told me about the situation was right this is exactly what
happens so if you decide to switch to another company and you haven't paid
off all of the phones. You are still liable for them. God bless, Wren PS. If
this is not clear please write to me off list and I will try and explain it
better.

What ATT and companies who offer this will do is sell these 1-year
old phones as used phones, especially with the iPhone the value will
still be quite good, but If they offered the same monthly deal without
charging for the iPhone while at the same time offering you a new
phone each year, they would soon have no customers who would spend
$199, $299 or $399 for a 5S any more. For people who like to have the
latest and greatest every year paying a bit extra might be worth it.
