RE: Apple watch without an iPhone
You only need the phone near by if you are using a service on the watch that requires internet access / connectivity. Otherwise the watch works fine for telling time Exercise workouts, And you can even play music through airpods etc from it directly But if you wanted to make a phone call or read email then you need the phone close, This is of course if you are usin the GPS watch, If you have the cellular watch then all services I believe are available. And the cellular watchs use an e sim I believe so no actual sim required. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf Of Lisa P. With the Cellular version, you will receive notifications, can make and receive calls and text messages, plus other things while you are away from your phone. But know, that the Cellular version cost more, and you will have to activate the cellular part with your phone carrier which will increase your cell phone bill around $15 a month.
