Re: Family Sharing Purchased Apps

2014-09-20 Thread Jonathan Mosen
The only choice a family sharing member has over payment method is if they
apply iTunes credit, through a means such as a gift card. Otherwise, the credit
card of the family organiser becomes the payment method for all family sharing
members.

If they choose to use their own card, I guess there's no way to show the app
store that we are both on the same plan?? It would be nice if both cards can
be associated with the same family plan. For example, an app will make a nice
Christmas present for her, but I wouldn't want her to know about it until the
right time.

Re: Family Sharing Purchased Apps

2014-09-19 Thread Charles Rivard
What is the "C C"? Whenever possible, I like to be clear by not using odd
acronyms. Here's an example of what I'm looking to have answered by someone
who knows, for sure, rather than speculation:

I share a plan with someone. We each have our own Apple accounts. If I
have an app on my phone, can she also get this app and not have to pay for
it because I am sharing it with her? Thanks.

The difference is that you can't do the old way anymore. This probably
has something to do with Apple Pay down the road.

Re: Family Sharing Purchased Apps

The difference is that you can't do the old way anymore. This probably
has something to do with Apple Pay down the road.

RE: Family Sharing Purchased Apps

2014-09-18 Thread Jim Ruby
So I'm curious, what way would be better?

The old way share your apple id and setup different icloud accounts for each
device

Or
2. use the new family shairing?

What would be the difference in regard to sharing apps other then
controlling others from purchasing?

Thanks.

A question about family sharing.

So my wife's got an iPhone and iPad. Both under my Apple ID. Whenever we
upgrade to iOS 8, does she just sign out of the app store and sign back in
with her own ID or will it be a question of her having to set her devices up
from scratch and redownload everything? All apps we've bought are with my
ID. We don't really buy content via iTunes. She's got her own ID, but uses
it mainly for iMessages and Facetime.

How do they determine that it's a family member? Do they have to be in
