Re: Frustrations with Dative Mail App

2016-01-14 Thread Kimberly
That's interesting. I have never tried viewing messages by thread. But when I
back out of viewing a message I end up somewhere near the bottom of the list of
messages in my inbox, not at the very bottom but somewhere close. I usually
have fifty or sixty emails sitting in my inbox so this behavior is rather
annoying.

Ah, good to know. I need to take another look at the Outlook app then.

Hi Christopher,

I mostly agree although I think if Outlook fixed the text review issue for

mail app definitely has been working great for me most of the time.

I've always thought the native mail app on the iPhone was outstanding.
I'm surprised how powerful and intuitive it is. I've looked for a better mail
app on both IOS and Android, and I've yet to find one.

I've always assumed the multiple threads with the same subject line had to do
with the mailing list software or how people were replying to list messages. I
didn't figure it was an issue with the native mail client.

I've never had trouble getting back to the in box after visiting another
folder. I just keep double tapping the back button (which has different labels,
such as the name of the folder you're in or mail boxes) until I get back to my
list of mail boxes and then I can double tap the in box.

I agree. I have minimal problems with the mail app. In fact, I think they
have improved on it. I have no problem getting to appropriate folders
either, and I experiment with the actions menu. I don't have a problem with
the conversations either. When I finish, I just back out till I get back to
the inbox. Maybe I haven't understood the question, but I do agree with you.

Re: Frustrations with Dative Mail App

2016-01-13 Thread englishrider91
The only two issues I'm having with the Mail app are that when I press the back
button to get out of a message, and then again to get out of a thread, The
first press works, but the second doesn't. It appears to, and I briefly see my
other threads, but after a second, I'm back in the thread I was in before. I'm
not double tapping on anything here. It seems like the phone quickly shifts
from being out of the thread I was looking at, then back into it. I have to
press the back button again to actually get out of the thread and back into my
mailbox, for example, the one I have for the VIPhone list. My other miss you
with mail is that, 99 times out of 100, the app loses focus when I back out of
a thread and get back into the mailbox; I get put back at the top of my list of
messages in the mailbox, unlike in iOS 8, where I was placed on the thread I
was just looking at, especially if I tapped with a single finger in the middle
of the screen. This no longer does the trick, for the most part, and I am
usually dumped back at the top of the list of messages. This is rather
irritating.

RE: Frustrations with Dative Mail App

2016-01-13 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
This focus issue you describe when returning to the Inbox entirely disappeared
for me in iOS 9.2 or maybe it was even 9.1 I also can't reproduce the problem
you describe with the back button. Which phone do you have? If it's a 6S or 6S
Plus is it possible you somehow invoke some 3D Touch thing? Also, I usually use
the scrub gesture instead of the back button, maybe give that a try and see if
it's more reliable.

Sieghard

RE: Frustrations with Dative Mail App

2016-01-12 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Christopher,

I mostly agree although I think if Outlook fixed the text review issue for
Voiceover users it might be my mail app of choice as I think it's more
feature-rich than the native mail app. But that's just my opinion, the native
mail app definitely has been working great for me most of the time.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

RE: Frustrations with Dative Mail App

2016-01-12 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Apart from the more or less brief locking up after replying to a message in a
thread I have none of these issues with the native mail app. I don't necessary
know what to recommend apart from doing a full restore and to set up as a new
phone, but on my 5S which I am currently using again 9.2 is stabil and
responsive and when I had my 6S it was stabil and fast. My wife is experiencing
a bit of a battery issue for the last while, but that didn't start with iOS 9.2
and I assume it's because of some app she downloaded.
