Hey, well the good news is the issue is looking like it is cord specific very strange as the cord I am having issues with I am still getting the error message, but it came with another identical 10 foot cord which I hooked up last night and that one is fine, so strange that it worked for 7 months and as of the update I started getting the error message that it is not an approved iPhone cord yet the other same identical cord works fine. Re: Hi,Re: Fairly Major Hardware issue with IOS 8.4
I bought a cable from Apple and it ended up being a bad cable. This was for my wife's iPhone 5C running iOS 8.3. We tried the cable several times and I even tried my lightning cable with no result. Fortunately, I contacted our mobile carrier's insurance company and cable damage was included in the coverage that we pay $10 a month for on my wife's phone. We were able to get a replacement 5S for her no questions asked. I wonder if there were some bad cables that were distributed, since this happened with a cable I ordered directly from Apple, and others have had similar experiences with cables from Amazon. Hopefully Apple products are not to blame, which would be the ultimate irony.
