Re: I can get an iPhone 7 for $199.00!

2020-10-03 Thread Kelly Pierce
If you are willing to switch carriers, you can get $200 or $300 off
the base SE 2020 model. Metro and Xfinity are offering deals. Apple
has settled a lawsuit for iPhone 6s and 7 series users. If you have
one, you can file a claim with the court for $20 to $30 in cash to
compensate for an early battery replacement. The deadline to file a
claim ends in a few days.

Apple provides five or six years of fresh iOS versions. This year for
example, iOS 14 supports the iPhone 6s, which was introduced in 2015,
as its oldest supported iOS. That will be six years of active
support.

Hey guys!

I am currently an Android user, but Traci and I need to change to a better
phone to keep using our Family Mobile phone plan through Walmart!

I use cheap Android phones over our wifi like tablets!

So, First of all!

Question 1

Can I set up an iPhone totally by myself.

With Android, I can press the power button, and put two fingers on the screen
and Talk Back asks me if I want to turn it on.

Does the iPhone let you turn on Voice Over in that manner, or is there some
other way to turn on Voice over when taking the phone right out of the box?

Can I totally get the phone set up without any sighted help?

I have heard something about an apple
ID or something, and can I do all of that without any sighted assistance?

Question 2

How do you guys feel about me getting an iPhone 7!

Is this a late enough phone to get IOS updates!

Question 3

The phone for $199.00 comes with IOS 11.

What do you think?

Question 4

I know a lot of gestures for the iPhone by studying the Hadley videos!

How up to date are those videos, and what Gestures are new that I might need to
know that are not in those videos.

I have the basic multi-fingered gestures down cold by listening to those videos!

This will be the first time I will be using a smart phone as an actual phone
where I will have to answer calls, make them and so on!

Thanks guys for any suggestions you can give me, and would this iPhone 7 be a
good purchase for $199.00 LOL!

Hope and excited to hear from you all!

I have learned a lot from you all in case I get an iPhone, and this might be

RE: I can get an iPhone 7 for $199.00!

2020-10-02 Thread chaltain
The iPhone 6S got IOS 14, so although we won’t know until Apple announces IOS
15, there’s a chance that the iPhone 7 will indeed get IOS 15. Plus Apple may
also continue to support updates to a phone even after it stops getting new
versions of IOS. Apple continued to update IOS 12 for the last year to push
updates out to device that didn’t support IOS 13.

I see iPhone 7's all over the place for $99 these days. I personally wouldn't
pay $200 myself. yes you can set it up with no sighted assistance. Just press
the home button three times once the phone starts and voice over will come up.
If I was doing this I would save up and buy the new SE2020 that just came out.
The iPhone 7 will run IOS 14, but I doubt that it will get anymore updates past
that point. If you're on a budget, look for a cheaper iPhone 7.

I don't think Lithium batteries are effected by not being used. If you buy AA
Lithium batteries it says they have a hself life of 10 years.

unless you really know them, I wouldn’t do it, and I wouldn’t do it for $200 in
any case. My 7+ is running iOS 14 beta actually, and it’s fine. You could maybe
get another year, but you don’t know. So in any case, at the very least, try to
get the price down and make sure what the battery situation is.

Can I set up an iPhone totally by myself.

Lithium batteries it says they have a hself life of 10 years.

Re: I can get an iPhone 7 for $199.00!

2020-10-01 Thread Daniel MacDonald
Do not get an iPhone seven. I have a friend who got one from a carrier when the
eight was released. His seven has problems with the battery, it will not hold a
charge any more. It also makes the charge sound repeatedly for no apparent
reason. The seven is old technology, thus cannot run optimally with iOS
fortune. Your better off getting the pixel a5. Better more modern hardware, and
fast and prompt updates. I would not invest the time in learning iOS just to
keep a spasific plan. It’s different, and since you’re an android user, you’ll
find it very locked down. Once Apple stops updating say, the iPhone SE for
example, that’s it. With Android, it doesn’t matter what Google does, you can
still get updates. iOS is polished and has a uniformity android doesn’t, you
cannot change launchers to remake your Home Screen for example.
Think twice, from one Android user to another. If you like something that has a
consistent way of doing things, iOS is good. However, if you like to tinker,
iOS will never be as costamizeble as even a rooted Android.

I got one a few months back and just love it.

The gestures you have studied will serve you well.

Apple products are fully accessible out of the box.

If you have an iPhone 7 then you press the home button 3 times quickly and
voiceover the screen reader turns on.

Then you can follow the prompts simply to set the device up.

Hope that helps.

2020-10-01 Thread Gordon
I know a lot of the MVNO companies like strait talk and Cricket wireless
are still trying to unload the 7 for around $150 to $199. But
occasionally they will run a deal where you can pick it up for $99. I
think that Boost Mobile has that deal going right now. If you're on a
budget and can find such a deal, it might be ok, for now, but the SE2020
is the best deal at the moment for a new phone that you're expecting
several years out of.

Re: I can get an iPhone 7 for $199.00!

2020-10-01 Thread Holly
David:

I will agree with the previous answers. Wait til you can afford an iPhone
2020. They start at $399 and have the latest processor.

I got one a few months back and just love it.

The gestures you have studied will serve you well.

$200 is more than you should pay for a seven.

Re: I can get an iPhone 7 for $199.00!

2020-10-01 Thread Mary Otten
I agree with Gordon. I would not pay $200 for what will be a four-year-old
phone this fall. Save up for the SE 2020 if you can. I would want to know about
the battery. Has it ever been replaced? If not, if the phone has been used over
time, the batteries probably not very good. If this is from a private party,
unless you really know them, I wouldn’t do it, and I wouldn’t do it for $200 in
any case. My 7+ is running iOS 14 beta actually, and it’s fine. You could maybe
get another year, but you don’t know. So in any case, at the very least, try to
get the price down and make sure what the battery situation is.

2020-10-01 Thread Gordon
I see iPhone 7's all over the place for $99 these days. I personally
wouldn't pay $200 myself. yes you can set it up with no sighted
assistance. Just press the home button three times once the phone starts
and voice over will come up. If I was doing this I would save up and buy
the new SE2020 that just came out. The iPhone 7 will run IOS 14, but I
doubt that it will get anymore updates past that point. If you're on a
budget, look for a cheaper iPhone 7.

I use cheap Android phones over our wifi like tablets!

So, First of all!

Question 1

Can I set up an iPhone totally by myself.

With Android, I can press the power button, and put two fingers on the
screen and Talk Back asks me if I want to turn it on.

Does the iPhone let you turn on Voice Over in that manner, or is there
some other way to turn on Voice over when taking the phone right out
of the box?

Can I totally get the phone set up without any sighted help?

I have heard something about an apple
ID or something, and can I do all of that without any sighted assistance?

Question 2

How do you guys feel about me getting an iPhone 7!

Is this a late enough phone to get IOS updates!

Question 3

The phone for $199.00 comes with IOS 11.

What do you think?

Question 4

I know a lot of gestures for the iPhone by studying the Hadley videos!

How up to date are those videos, and what Gestures are new that I
might need to know that are not in those videos.

I have the basic multi-fingered gestures down cold by listening to
those videos!

This will be the first time I will be using a smart phone as an actual
phone where I will have to answer calls, make them and so on!

Thanks guys for any suggestions you can give me, and would this iPhone
7 be a good purchase for $199.00 LOL!

Hope and excited to hear from you all!

I have learned a lot from you all in case I get an iPhone, and this
might be the time to get one!
