That's too bad. I just worked through the entire series on using talk back and 
things worked fine. I'm not using it on the phone so that could be the issue.

started with your first iPhone/iPad/watch I would navigate to this link and 
then choose the link for getting started with your first iPhone and review the 
guides/audio material  on there.
You could also Google the topic. Lastly, there are places where you can get 
in-depth training if this is more comfortable.

Nna Dresner has an excellent book on using the iPHone from a sight impaired 
person's point of view - I don't think it covers the latest version, but almost 
all of the features remain on the newest versions.

Hello Nancy,
I would suggest going to applevis.com; there, the site has a link to
getting started with your first iPhone/iPad/watch I would navigate to
this link and then choose the link for getting started with your first
iPhone and review the guides/audio material  on there.
You could also Google the topic. Lastly, there are places where you
can get in-depth training if this is more comfortable.
