Hi Caleb,

This sounds good. I hope the rotor will be included as well so we can move by
word and line.

Cheers,
Anna

Definitely not a dumb question. In the first release of BrailleTouch, you

In the future, the up and down flicks will be for editing your text from the
touchscreen braille keyboard. A one-finger up flick will be the back arrow
and a one-finger down-flick will be the forward error. This is similar to
how the built-in Notes app works with VoiceOver when the rotor is in
character mode. This is not implemented yet and is still on our drawing

RE: Loving Braille Touch

2013-02-01 Thread Richard Turner
OK, I'm eating my words from the time before the app came out when I was
rather critical of the price point. I'm still critical of the price point,
but the app does exceed my expectations.
I can see if becoming a great tool for my job of teaching braille.

I would like to see the clear text button moved to the first option in the
paid version.
If you have the paid version, but are still wanting to use it as a practice
tool for writing, but don't want to send the text anywhere, it would be nice
to be able to quickly clear it out and write some more.

Editing too will be nice.

Thanks,
Richard

Re: Loving Braille Touch

2013-02-01 Thread Robert Fenton
This will be a huge improvement. Will it also be possible to insert text into a
previously created document? This would be very useful since Fleksy and other
programs do not offer this feature. Thanks.

Definitely not a dumb question. In the first release of BrailleTouch, you
flick right with one finger to make a space and flick left with one finger
 to backspace.

This is not implemented yet and is still on our drawing
board. But I thought I'd give everyone a sneak peek of where we are going
with our plans for future updates to BrailleTouch!

Re: Loving Braille Touch

2013-01-31 Thread Eileen Misrahi
Hi,

You can delete one character at a time by flicking one finger from right to
left. To add a space, flick one finger from left to right. You can add your
basic punctuation marks by using the braille dots that will create that sign.
For example, the capital sign uses dot 6, so tap the screen for the capital
sign first and then the letter you want to capitalize. I hope this makes sense.

Re: Loving Braille Touch

2013-01-31 Thread BrailleTouch

Hi Reggie,

Definitely not a dumb question. In the first release of BrailleTouch,
you flick right with one finger to make a space and flick left with one
finger to backspace.

In the future, the up and down flicks will be for editing your text from
the touchscreen braille keyboard. A one-finger up flick will be the back
arrow and a one-finger down-flick will be the forward error. This is
similar to how the built-in Notes app works with VoiceOver when the
rotor is in character mode. This is not implemented yet and is still on
our drawing board. But I thought I'd give everyone a sneak peek of where
we are going with our plans for future updates to BrailleTouch!

Best,
Caleb

If you swipe right with one finger, it puts a space in, and if you swipe
left with one finger, it deletes. The capital is a dot 6 in English Braille.

Re: Loving Braille Touch

2013-01-31 Thread liz and sammie
I am going to echo Donna's post. I love Braille Touch. This app is
wonderful, and I to am looking forward to grade 2 support in the future and
possibly a facebook option in the menu even though that is a work around at
this time. If Braille Touch developers need additional testers, I sure
would be all too happy to participate.

RE: Loving Braille Touch

2013-01-31 Thread Kramlinger, Keith G., M.D.
So I guess I have a good reason to start re-learning Grade 2 Braille

Anyone have suggestions for good resources? I learned Grade 2 poorly once, but
have gotten by with Grade
1.

Thanks in advance. Keith

Hi Devin,

Thanks for your question. Braille translation tables are coming. That is
our top priority. A future update to BrailleTouch will support Grade 2
contracted braille in both the UEB and American standards, and also
languages other than English. We are very excited about this.

Best,
Caleb

 Hi.

It is a great app, but I can not find out how to press space and delete, and
 what about capitals.

If you will make danish braille, I will be glad to help with that.

 Best regards Annie.
